Ikea Delivery Service

If I could rate no stars I would. I bought one chair at the ikea in college park. Merge delivery was for 5 – 9. They showed up at 10pm !!! No call. Had only one person on the truck who had to carry a very large chaise Louie up three flights of stairs. I live maybe 20 minutes from this IKEA. Did I happen to mention the delivery charge was $ 90!!!-

and opting for delivery service. i admit, the $ 99 delivery fee, did seem a little too good to be true but then again it’s Ikea, so I figured good deal! there was definitely a part of me that did not have complete faith in ikea delivery so I actually wanted to just drive to the nearest location, which was about 4 hours away, and buy all the components myself but figured I would be saving on tax and the stress of driving back and forth. since I was buying the Pax closet system there are so many interior and exterior components that I was already fearful that my delivery would not be complete upon delivery. at any rate, the delivery was scheduled for a friday from 2−6pm. of course, no call or anything by 6:30 so I called the delivery company and they say the driver is running late. fine! so then at around 7 i get an automated phone call from the 3^rd party delivery company and they are 5 – 30 mins away. I get a missed call from an unknown number and when I call back there is no answer. I call the delivery company customer service and tell them I’ve been waiting and they advised that the driver is at the residence. anyhow, they were at the wrong address and by the time I try to call to re-​confirm the address and cross street the driver is not answering the phone and the cust service rep is also trying to call numerous times and send the driver text messages but no answer. I spoke with a manager at the delivery company and he tells me the truck was already on its way to its next delivery to another city 2 hours away. anyhow, no delivery and no call back from the delivery company so I don’t even know the status of my order. at this point and after reading these reviews, i am more disappointed in myself for thinking this would be a seamless on-​line experience, but clearly I was very, very wrong! in the back of mind, I had doubts after placing the order on
but didn’t think it would be utter chaos, disorganized, and completely disappointing. lesson learned.

REALLY REALLY PATHETIC SERVICE: Negative Stars. online. We ordered a chair and a office table and paid 44 $ of Delivery charge. Only the Chair arrived and the table is missing. Their Customer service phone line is Terrible no one answers the calls and waiting time is more than two hours. When we got some one to speak to to they said it would be delivered in two days and till now no sign of the table. and still we are waiting on the phone to talk to someone. If there were negative stars that’s what I would rate IKEA delivery service! Completely unresponsive, inflexible, extremely rude, zero accountability, no concept of customer service! I had specifically requested for a delivery time-​slot in the evening at the delivery counter, since both my wife and I are working, and the person noted it down. However, when I got a call the day prior, the delivery time-​slot mentioned was from 10 AM — 12:00 PM! I called up first thing next morning to reschedule the delivery, and the woman (Stacy) on the phone said it was not possible to move delivery timings for «future-​date» deliveries (whatever that meant!) She could only move the delivery dates. When I asked her to then at least move the delivery date, she said that this was not possible either, because I was supposed to have called her before 3:00 PM the day prior (note that I received the call from IKEA delivery regarding the delivery timing 7:30 PM the day prior!). Oh, and in case there is nobody to receive the furniture, then it would be counted as a «failed delivery» and we would have to go back to the store to purchase another delivery at additional cost! I bought over $ 1,000 worth of furniture, and now I don’t know what to do.
Seems like I am not the only one who has experienced the IKEA delivery nightmare. This is the last time that I buy from IKEA. Other furniture companies (Ashley, Jeromes, Mor) are much more flexible and courteous. I am willing to pay a few $ more in these stores for better customer service from now on.

Cannot believe this. My husband and I ordered a bed and selected a delivery date of almost a month away to ensure that he would be home. Three days before delivery, I get a message from the company giving me a delivery day that does not work for me. There automated service said to call between 8 and 5 to schedule deliveries.
I called at 8:07 the next morning and was quoted a 1 minutes wait time. 10 minutes later, someone answered the phone to inform me that the person that schedules deliveries doesn’t get in until 11. After I explained my situation, and that I would be at work at that time, she pulled up my order to again tell me when they would be delivering — at a time I was not available at. I asked if they could work with me and were completely unwilling.
I want to return the product but can’t get in touch with anyone at IKEA to return the item. I’ve never had an issue before — but with delivery being $ 99 (when I know for a fact they have what I ordered is in stock in a city less than two hours away) for something that isn’t even going to come assembled… I will NEVER purchase anything from IKEA again.

Terrible service — been waiting three days for furniture that was suppose to be delivered three days ago. Told that it did not make it on Truck. After I got automated call saying they were delivering it that day.

It’s been two weeks, I’ve had to call the delivery company three times, and I still haven’t received my furniture. When I finally received a cal about my delivery time, I was given a time on Thursday which wasn’t feasible for me. I was assured that they could make the delivery on Saturday, but was then notified that Saturday was already full. My delivery has now been bumped back by an entire week. I will not be ordering from IKEA again.

I bought a sofa bed from Ikea and asked to have it delivered at my apartment. The delivery was scheduled for ¹⁰⁄₂₈ from 5:00 — 9:00 pm. No one came or called during this time. I called the Ikea Contact Center today to ask about my delivery. I didn’t call with an attitude or asking for a delivery refund because no one came at the contracted time. Instead, the only thing I asked for was to have my delivery re-​scheduled for today for the same time slot. This is where things got interesting. Sharmanike, the customer service representative, informed me that they had the wrong area code for my telephone number. I explained that the Ikea rep was who entered my information in the system; therefore, the wrong number was not my mistake. She then stated that the call center couldn’t do anything for me so I had to go to the store in person to schedule a new delivery and pay a new delivery fee. All this information was given to me in an incredibly rude tone. I asked her for a supervisor. Sharmanike stated that Ikea Customer Service does not have supervisors. I pressed her and she transferred me to a Senior Representative. John came on the line and delivered this gem: «because you didn’t realize the rep noted the wrong area code we are going to treat this as a missed delivery.» Me: even though they never attempted to make the delivery? John: «yes.»
I was able to cancel my order and will be refunded the money I paid for the sofa bed. However, Ikea is still flatly refusing to refund me the $ 59 delivery fee because their unstated store policy dictates that if the delivery people have the wrong contact information, even if it is because of their own employee’s mistake, the delivery will be treated as «missed» whether the delivery company attempts actual delivery or not. John’s parting shot: «we don’t have to inform you ahead of time about this store policy. We don’t have to give you any notice. Here is the corporate number you requested.» In plain English: good luck, Chuck!

If there were no stars, it would be no stars. Bought a chair on-​line from Ikea, for hom delivery. Going on 5 days of buying it, I still had no heard anything about the delivery. I called this morning and the all was amazing. The woman told me it would be delivered by FedEx.
Me: So there’s no way I will know to have someone at home for the delivery.
Here: You don’t have to be at home.
Me: How will it get in the house?
Her: If you are not there, they will leave it at your house.
Me: But it’s a chair.
Her:But it’s not assembled. It will be in a box.
Me. But it’s a chair. It will be big. It will be stolen.
Her: If you’re not there, they will leave it behind a bush or a trash can.
Me: Even if I had one of those things, it;s a chair, it wouldn’t be hidden.
Her: Sir, you will get an email telling you when it will be delivered.
Me: Can I cancel the order?
Her: I can request that for you, but I can’t guarantee it. Would you like me to request it?
Me: Yes.
Her: But I can’t guarantee it.

We just wanted to buy walk-​in closet fixtures. We practically had to beg the person at the store to work with us. We had to come back to the store to place the order after we went home and measured the space to make sure it would all fit (because they won’t do business over the phone and the online ordering was just too crazy with all the pieces).
We had to make a change to the order because of a measurement problem that arose. Had to go back to the store. Got a new delivery date.
THEN…they showed up today with only the newly ordered piece (missing 90% of the ordered pieces) on the wrong delivery date. We had to get my sister to run over while we were at work to meet the truck.
AND…they wouldn’t install the piece because it has to be built and then put in the closet and it won’t fit once built. Hmmm… could the sales person have told us that???
So the date we’re supposed to get the rest is in two days… Will they show? What will be on the truck? Will they build it? Who knows?
One thing we do know. We will never shop at IKEA again. never.

I am upset with Ikea. I have never had trouble with their products, but I had such a miserable experience with an online order and shipping that I will never purchase from Ikea again. And neither should you! You will not get your order until weeks after the estimated delivery (which was already weeks after the order was placed) and you’ll end up paying extra fees. Do NOT buy ikea.

I rated it a 1 star without having used their services, but based on a phone call inquiring about their services.
Interested in getting a few things from Ikea, I looked at the website for info on delivery got a little confused, so I placed a call. Didn’t get an answer on my call, but someone called back a few minutes later: «yeah, you called» — wow! what a way to do business.
I asked if they were insured — «ummm, yeah».
Can you provide proof of insurance — «ummmm, yeah. I think so»
On the website it states that you have to make a deposit of 50% if your purchase is more than $ 2,000. I wanted to know, how is that accomplished — «through a credit card processing at our company» — not paypal or anything secured.
then I asked a few more questions, that skip my mind and after the last question, he (didn’t identify himself), just hung up.
Well I’ll be damned and I’ll stay away from Ikea Delivery and stick with the company contracted out through Ikea for peace of mind!
