History

Established in 1984.

The shop opened in 1974 under the name ‘Import Car and Diesel”. It was operated 30 years and was one of the main staples for automotive repair in Springfield. In 1994, Frank Mietus purchased and still owns the company to this day. Frank is a transmission expert, and one of the leading technicians in the industry. Today we are servicing all imports. We do services from general maintenance to troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Business Owner

Frank Mietus is a Certified Master automotive technician and transmission specialist and a graduate of Triton college’s automotive degree program. He is factory trained in European and Asian vehicles. Frank has taught for industry leader such as Transmission University and Automatic Transmission Service Group of Florida. Today, he leads a team of trained technicians in everything from simple maintenance schedules to complex computer diagnostics and repair. Frank, Randy and Brian attend update classes regularly and study with the Automotive Service Association’s (ASA) trainers on special weekends. Also, he is a member of the iATN technicians all over the country. All this and over 35 years in the automotive industry makes him a valuable asset for Import Car Service and all of its’ customers.
