Karrina Taylor Brown – Re/Max Executives

If I could give a «no star» rating for Karrina Taylor Brown, I would. She was the realtor representing buyers for our home. There were difficulties right from the start. She requested a showing at 6:30 pm on a Friday night and they did not vacate the house until 7:45 pm. She then requested a second showing with the same family on a Sunday and they were there for almost 2 hours. Then came the ridiculous offer 60K under our asking price, which was insulting. They eventually worked the offer amount up and we signed a contract. Ms. Taylor Brown then delivered a letter to our realtor, asking for us personally to have a one on one meeting with her buyers… «really»? The home inspection was waived, but they wanted a radon test. We had the results of a recent radon test that showed the house passed and that was offered to them, but they wanted another test. We had no qualms about that, but then came the addendum for the radon test and the way it was worded to allow the buyers to back out of the contract regardless of the results without forfeiting their earnest money. That attempt failed and we refused to sign, but we told them that they could still conduct the test. They never did the test. The next thing was the home appraisal. Once that was completed, Ms. Taylor Brown, came to our home and delivered the results with the comment to may husband that it was low. The appraisal results should have been given first to our realtor and she should not have had direct contact with us. It was 30K lower than one we had just done a month prior. We came to find out that the buyer had hired his own appraiser (it was not an impartial appraisal requested through the lending agency) and he was supplied with the first written offer paperwork, not the ratified contract with the great monetary amount. The appraiser went off the numbers shown on that and same in with the low appraisal, so that they could make another attempt to get us to lower the price and proceed with the price that they were pre-​approved for, not the final contract price, which was 30K over their lending agency’s approval. She then wanted us to sign another of her ridiculously worded addendums that essentially could have been interpreted that we had just sold our home for the appraisal price. Luckily we had an attorney review the paperwork and tell us not to sign either of her addendums. We decided to jus let the addendum lapse and not sign within her three day time period and the contract would just lapse and become null and void. An Email was send to her telling her that was what we were doing and she kept coming back with more ridiculously low offers. When call out on this behavior, she blamed all the problems on her clients that it was their fault. Ms. Taylor Brown is deceitful and unethical and I would forewarn any sellers that may have an offer coming from her to be wary and any buyers, while she might get you the best for your money she does this with no integrity and in very unethical ways. Home selling is stressful enough and she made this experience a living hell for us.

My wife and I used Karrina when selling our CO-​OP in Burke. We tried to sell it once before and it didn’t sell (the qualifications to get a loan for a co-​op in Virginia are outrageous). Either way we had to sell it quick. Karrina comes in and was able to get us a full price offer on the first showing of the open house.
This was able to allow us to put more money down on the home we purchased in Occoquan. We used Karrina again for this purchase even though it was a new build. Many times the builder (DR Horton) tried to screw us out of options, square footage, a kitchen island, windows, etc.
Karrina fought for us, and we were able to get every thing we were promised, and washer and dryer.
Completely satisfied, I recommend all the time.
