Came on time and did a great job cleaning my 400 foot studio apartment. Agreed-​upon price was ~$ 90; I was charged ~$ 135. When I called back and asked why I was told $ 90 was the hourly rate and the maids came for 1.5 hours, but that was not what was communicated in the original phone call. This made little sense since the charge appeared on my card prior to the maids’ arrival. I spoke with the representative I originally made the arrangements with (Alejandra) and after some arguing she agreed to reverse the charge and only charge me $ 90, which I thought was very reasonable of her. I still don’t get why they weren’t upfront about the cost of the service but as long as you understand that it is about $ 90/​hour I think they do a good job cleaning.

DO NOT USE MAXI MAIDS AT ALL. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I wish I could give Maxi Maids zero stars, but unfortunately Unilocal doesn’t allow one to do so. I contacted Maxi Maids to conduct a thorough deep clean of the apartment that I was vacating to be completed on Saturday, September 29^th arriving at 2 — 4 pm. The cleaning was to take 2 hours and the company purportedly guarantees their service. The admin that I spoke with in setting up the initial appointment was cordial, took my information, then said they would send a follow up email on Friday to let me know the details and time. Come Friday afternoon, I hadn’t received any information or contact from the company about my scheduled cleaning. Freaking out, I got in touch with someone around 5:00 pm on Friday. Turns out, no one entered my information for the cleaning after I had called earlier in the week.
Well, that’s great.
In a pinch, I gave my information AGAIN to set up the service for Saturday afternoon. Sure enough, I finally received the email confirmation on Friday night for the scheduled appointment. I showed up at my old apartment a little early to let the cleaners in. The only problem was… THEY NEVER SHOWED. I sat in my vacant apartment for 3 hours waiting for the cleaning crew to arrive and they never did. I sent emails and called Maxi Maids’ main office, which conveniently closes at 2 pm on Saturdays, to no response.
Of course, I wasn’t going to start cleaning when I had thought I had paid for a service to do so. With little choice, I spent 3 hours of my Sunday cleaning my old apartment. I finally got in touch with someone Monday morning at their office who was kind and apologized many times. But regardless of their kindness and apology, Maxi Maids is a poorly run business with little, if any, customer service. It goes without saying, I’d never ever, ever, ever recommend using this company and the services it provides.

Absolutely do NOT use Maxi Maids cleaning service. They lie, overcharge and then will not refund your money.
They came for an initial «Red» cleaning which their website says includes Refrigerator and Stove. They didn’t touch either one, not even the outside of the fridge where a quick wipe of the handle was all that was needed.
POOR CLEANING:
I had to spend the last 30 minutes they were there pointing out things they missed. Who wants to spend all that time looking around and telling them how to to do their job. The whole point is they are cleaning so YOU don’t have to. It defeats the purpose if I have to show them everything they SHOULD have already done.
Conclusion: They are are dishonest and also do a poor job cleaning. In our area there have to be hundreds of cleaning people better than Maxi Maids.

With so many cleaning options in the area, there is zero excuse for any cleaning service to be this poor. We used them for our office and these are the issues we’ve had.
1. The first time they came they did not clean the entire office. We had a contract for them to clean certain areas and the crew skipped two areas. During their second appointment they skipped another area.
2. During the first visit the cleaning crew tried to tell our assistant that they needed to be paid right then. Obviously this is BS because we get an invoice from the company. It was clear the crew was trying to get more money. I’m guessing they don’t get paid much from MaxiMaids.
3. Last two times (we only used them for a few months) they missed the bathroom completely.
4. Communication is terrible. Half the time it took 2 – 3 days to get an email reply back. Sorry but if you’re running a business with clients you do not take 2 – 3 days to reply to an email.
The only decent thing about them is the price, but overall the service is horrible. We already cancelled the service and have moved on. Save yourself the time and don’t use this company. There are plenty of companies to use in the DC area.

I had a fantastic my experience with MaxiMaids today. Nothing at all like the 1 star reviews. But this was my first service with them as I generally clean my own home.
I did see some people commenting on how they put things in weird places. While none of my stuff was in weird places it was not put back the way it was when they arrived (mainly items on bathroom and kitchen countertops). I did not mind this though… how many places do these ladies clean a week? I think its fair to not expect them to remember every single place something was sitting in someone’s home. Plus I would prefer they stay focused on cleaning and not stand around wondering whether they put something back correctly.
My in-​laws are coming in town this evening to stay with us for the first time and I had hired another service at the recommendation of a concierge. I called our front desk 3.5 hours after the service was to have arrived only to find out that they never came to get the entry key. I frantically begin google searching other services. The first two I called went to voice mail where I was to leave a message and someone would call me back «within 24 hours.» MaxiMaids was my 3^rd phone call and someone answered right away, was very professional and accommodating and most important — were able to send someone over this afternoon. This saved me many stressful hours of frenzied cleaning after work this evening before my guests are to arrive.
I got home shortly after Jaqueline and Sarai arrived. They were courteous and focused on the tasks they had to complete. I only hope I wasn’t in their way too much.
When the left the apartment was sparkling! I am thrilled with experience I had.
They are a little pricey, though to be fair I also did not do research on fair market prices for this service, but was this was a desperate situation and I gladly handed the money over.
I would recommend this service to friends.

We recently fired Maxi Maids. Although they cleaned pretty well, they left our front door AJAR, fortunately nothing was stolen. The response of the management was «well, nothing was stolen, right?». Unbelievable. They also once took home our front desk key – we should have fired them then. I also found the services to be very pricey. Based on the other posts, I will be checking my credit card statement very carefully-​I don’t trust this company to be honest.

The quality was good the first couple of times, but then they started skipping things or doing them poorly. I had to ask them to vacuum in certain areas that were obviously missed and when it came to mopping the floors, there were still stains afterwards. They did do a good job on the bathrooms.
I think they were tired by the time they came. I requested the 8−10am window usually, but if I was the second house they were cleaning, then I saw a difference in quality. Also one of the maids was great – friendly and nice disposition. The other was sullen and anything I asked her she just gave me attitude. I still have them on a regular schedule, but am thinking of looking around for another company.

Not no, but hell no.
While the actual cleaning was decent, the cleaning people had a weird sense of where to put things, and each week I played hide and seek with items I left on counter tops and such.
The final straw happened when I went out of town. They came in, cleaned and a) placed things on top of (in) the cat litter box and then shut the door to the bathroom.
We were gone for 5 days, this led to the cats ruining the mattress, couch and carpet. Maximaids did pay for it — but they wanted to pay in installments — after telling me to go replace things and send them the receipts. After contacting the owners and pointing out I’m not in the habit of lending Maxi Maids money, they finally paid.
They were also very inconsistent with arriving at their scheduled times, and often the cleaning personnel were on the phones for most of the clean.
No thank you.

I used this service awhile back. The first couple of cleanings were great and then the quality declined greatly! The next to last cleaning was so bad, I wasn’t even sure if they’d been to my house or not. They came back after I complained to finish what they missed. The last straw came when they cleaned my home while I was there. The girl cleaning the kitchen was too busy talking on her cell phone to do much more than make swirls with a sponge. She was rude and insolent… when they were ‘done’ I asked for my key and called the owner to cancel any future cleanings. She didn’t even try to find out why.

Do not use this company. At first a friend ordered a 2-​hour gift cleaning for me, and they did a wonderful job. So I decided to sign up for a monthly service but then the quality declined. The second time they sent different employees and they did a shoddy job. They did not empty the trash in my kitchen or one of my bathrooms, put clean clothes in my dirty hamper, put dirty dishes in a dishwasher full of clean dishes, and left my door unlocked when they left. When I emailed the company to complain, the first two emails bounced back because their customer service inbox was full (not a good sign…). I finally found an email address that went through but never heard anything back. It’s poor customer service and they clearly do not care about keeping customers. I’m switching to a different company.

they did a great job, but missed the drawers in my bathroom. i had already moved out, so didn’t see what they had missed until just over 2 days later when the owner was inspecting. it had been just over 48 hrs, so i was told it was too late for them b/​c they have a 48 hr rule for coming back. it didn’t matter that that rule was not on my e-​mail confirmation or the paperwork i received on completion – that’s just bad customer service!

This place will rip you off, so I wouldn’t dare trust a company like that to have people in my house! Also, don’t be fooled by the Seven 5-​star reviews you see when you do a google search for them. Of the SEVEN 5-​star reviews on Google, 2 are written by Miguel, 2 by Ariel, and 2 by Kevin. The other reviewer, «Leads» is a company that is linked at the bottom of Maxi Maids’ website. All the reviews are written within about a month timeframe. All these factors strike me as very suspicious.
The cleaning service was great, but they charged me for an extra hour, even though they were only there for an extra 30 minutes. When I called to dispute the extra 30 minute charge, they were so incredibly rude, said they’d call me back on two different occasions and never did, and refused to refund the extra half hour charge. Because of that, they have lost my repeat business in the future.
The first time Maxi Maids come to your house, they charge by the hour, with a minimum of two hours at $ 72/​hour. I was home that day, let them into the house, and they started to clean. Close to the end of the two hour window, the Maxi Maids office called me to say that the maids still needed an extra hour so that would be an additional $ 72. I said that was fine, they were doing a great job, and thanks for letting me know.
Well, the cleaners wrapped up only 30 minutes later, so right after they left, I called the Maxi Maids office to tell them that the maids were only there an extra 30 minutes, not an extra hour, and wanted to know if they charged for partial hours or if I still had to pay for the full hour. They said that they charge by the half hour after the initial two hours, and that it wouldn’t be a problem.
A few days later, my credit card was charged for three hours. When I called to dispute it, they said they’d check with the cleaning crew and call me back. They never did. So I called them back and reminded them that told me they’d only charge in half hour increments. They said that no, the maids were there an extra hour. I reminded them that I called immediately after the maids left to say it was only an extra half hour. The woman said she’d check with her boss and call me back. She never did. When I called back, the woman offered no apology for not calling me back (twice now!) and said that her boss said there was nothing they could do.
I was perfectly willing to pay for an extra hour of service if they had been there for an hour. But they were only there for an extra 30 minutes and I did everything I could to ensure that they were aware of that!
They lost repeat business forever for a lousy $ 36! What crappy customer service. Although the cleaning service was good and thorough, I would not trust a company with such shady business practices to ever come into my home!
