Ramada Plaza Springfield Hotel and Oasis Convention Center

The place is great. Staff and restaurant as well as the rooms were fantastic. Would stay here again as well as have a function here.

First off, I booked my hotel on the wrong date through Hotwire. I was really worried because we couldn’t afford an extra day’s stay either with money or time. When I went to the Ramada to explain this, I really did not expect that they would fix it. I was praying they would, but knew they did not have to. Allysa (sp?) was the Guest Manager and she politely explained that if I could get Hotwire to start the process, she would change the day for me. I called Hotwire and they said they would if she would so she did. I am fully aware that a lot of hotels frown on the Hotwire program and she did not have to do this for me. I really appreciated it .
The rooms were very clean, the shower had great water pressure and the bed had a cotton throws folded down instead of some nasty Polyester cover. I felt comfortable sleeping there. They have a radio with Nature sounds which is great for me because I have a hard time sleeping in a place where I can hear every little thing that goes on.
My husband was pretty tired from the drive and took a nap before we had to attend a function later with dinner. I was hungry so I walked down to the restaurant. Everything on there was pretty big and maybe a bit more than I wanted to spend for a snack to hold me over. The waitress kindly suggested that I could order a half salad which I did. The dressing was homemade and tasty. I also ordered a Bloody Mary (surprise, I know) and it was very good too. drink and salad was 8 bucks and some change. Pretty reasonable I thought and really just enough.
Breakfast buffet was more than generic although I don’t eat a lot of those foods and the creamer could have been liquid choices instead of powder. You could tell though, mainly that they tried to hit a lot of differing appetites.
I left my jacket there and did not notice for several hours. When we called, it was in the office not the trash which I have had happen to me before.
I would stay here again if I needed a hotel in Springfield. You could do much worse.

Being a Springfield resident, I’ve never stayed at this hotel, but I have attended an event in the convention center, which was pleasant, clean and staffed with competent workers. The grounds are well kept and fairly upscale — although not to the same degree as, say, Hotel Vandivort. Still, based on my limited experience, it’s hard to see why the reviews here are as bad as they seem to be.

We were a vendor at the All About Weddings show this past weekend. The manager was super awesome and went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. Thanks for the great service!

Our room was one of those around the atrium and it was very nice. Clean room, comfy bed, nice desk/​work area with ergonomic chair, clean carpet, nice little balcony out over the atrium (like overlooking a rainforest), a safe, microwave and fridge. Plenty of bright lighting in the room, including gooseneck type reading lights attached to the headboard. Breakfast was good and plentiful, with eggs, sausage or bacon, potatoes, biscuits, gravy, waffles, bagels, cereal, etc. I guess if you want something more extensive, then you should go to a restaurant for breakfast, but this was just fine for us. The hot tub was hot, and the pools were clean (one outside, one inside). The conference room was very nice, with good coffee and tea available. Service was great. We did not eat at the restaurant (Fire & Ice) so I can’t review that. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I did a «„stay-​cation“» here one weekend, and we were underwhelmed. We walked to the wal-​mart next to it, and a transient was following us back into the hotel parking area, so security is non existent here. High priced for what little you get, the fire and ice restaurant in there is over priced too.

This is the second time I’ve stayed at your hotel and will stay there again next year! Staff is always very friendly, breakfast is amazing, rooms are clean and comfortable and the grounds and ambiance is so inviting! Thank you again :)

Have stayed here numerous times and usually love it. This time the housekeeping was poor to non existent. Room 534 is not as nice as other rooms we have had and it was also quite dirty.

Booked this hotel for my brother’s graduation weekend. I booked through Expedia and this hotel looked very nice based on the pictures. We get to out room and this is not what I was expecting. It’s outdated, there are no phone charging plugs by the bed. The walls are very thin, I can hear full conversations in the next room. When we got to the room the bed linens looked fine but the rest of the room was not great. The carpet had «humps» in it like it’s been stretched too much. The bathroom tub had some… hair still left on the tub and the tub still had black smudges on it, also the grout in the tub has mold. The tub paint or glaze was cracked and some parts were broken off the size of a quarter. One of the room walls had been patched but not repainted. I did call the lobby about the bathroom and they did send housekeeping up right away to clean it. They were friendly and apologetic. There are probably better or newer places in Springfield don’t be fooled by the restaurant, lobby, and bar.

I stayed at this Ramada and was very pleased. The service was good. They allowed us to check out in the afternoon. The room was clean. Fresh sheets daily. The option for clean towels daily. The restaurant In the hotel was fantastic! I will defiantly stay here again when I am in Springfield. The only negative I can think of was the selection of cable channels. We weren’t watching much tv anyway

I stayed at this hotel during Skepticon 7, which is the second time I’ve attended this popular skeptic’s conference, and was pleasantly surprised. The first time I came to Springfield, for Skepticon 5, there was little about the town that impressed me. The former conference venue, the Springfield Expo Center, and the surrounding «downtown» area left a lot to be desired. With a penchant for wit, members of my university’s secular student group settled on a satirical pronunciation for the state of Missouri during the 2012 conference: Misery. Our chosen name pretty much matched our experience of the previous venue. Suffice it to say that my expectations were low coming back to this town.
The Ramada Plaza Hotel and Oasis Convention Center, however, turned things around. This time, my group had a couple of suites on the 1^st floor directly next to the indoor pool. The interior design of the whole place was reminiscent of a tropical paradise and, while Missouri (aka Misery) will never live up to that ideal, this hotel gets about as close as one would expect in this part of the country. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The indoor pool and hot tub were also clean and fun diversions. The actual layout of the building, particularly when it comes to getting to the conference center from the hotel, isn’t intuitive at first glance, but adequate signage was available.
From the outside the hotel looks much smaller than it feels once inside. The dimly lit and darkly shaded color scheme of the conference center appealed to me and the unique sinks in the men’s restroom always put a smile on my face. Perhaps my only complaint is that the street doesn’t have a sidewalk, nor did the hotel have a paved walkway that was open to pedestrian traffic, which makes for a precarious trek down the hotel’s driveway when one decides to eat at the area’s many restaurants. But, otherwise, I was pretty satisfied with my stay here and I was glad to hear Skepticon will be coming back next year.

I flew in from Minnesota for a business conference (and boy are my arms tired — ha ha… had to be done! lol) and our group stayed here — Sunday through Thursday. Aside from the beautiful tropical greenery dominating the pool area, do you want to know what I found the most appealing and refreshing? The staff ! They were GENUINE, helpful, friendly, engaging, professional, and I was truly impressed by their entire team. I have NO real gripes, none! The food was excellent, the restaurant (Fire & Ice) is Well staffed and a great place to grab a beer after a long day of meetings. I FREQUENTLY travel for work, normally stay at a Hilton or Hampton… and have to say… not much difference — except the staff here are much more squared away and friendly, the rates are cheaper, and I REALLY enjoyed my stay (also had a nice little gift basket waiting for me in my room upon check in — thank you M. Handyside). In short — some people have an expectation of a certain level of luxury with each hotel they check into… those people don’t travel much I guess :)

So i stayed here for my wedding weekend. The first night we stayed here was Friday August 29^th it was perfect. The king sweet is great. The second night was awful. After my wedding i came to my sweet not clean… dirty towels… trash full up. Sink and tub dirty. Needless to say on my wedding night i have never experienced the lack of service ever… .i am highly dissappointed and will never return to this hotel nor will i recommend it. Overpriced for the unacceptable service.

This was my first stay at a Ramada, and if this is the standard, I won’t ever do this again. It looks nice in the photos. Got here on a Friday, check in was great, went swimming for a bit, and then attempted to sleep. I could hear the person using the restroom, so we had to run the air all night to drown out all the little noises. The bed was not comfortable at all. The next night we ate at their restaurant, really good food I will say. Went to swim again, a lot more kids this time, normal for a Saturday. So we decided to go sit in the «hot tub». The pool was warmer. Walked out to the front desk (could not find anyone closer). Informed them the hot tub was freezing, they said they would call maintenance. We got hot water for about 5 minutes. Went back to the front desk and stood there, in my dripping wet bathing suit while the TWO front desk people helped a couple of guys with their issue with the restaurant. It took them 10 minutes to even acknowledge me. While I was standing there, a group of 20 people came out of some meeting, some kids from the prom that was going in there walked through. When they finally acknowledged me they did not even speak. Just walked towards me and looked with a blank stare. Apparently this hot tub issue is an ongoing thing. Had they said this my first trip, I would not have made a second one up to the desk. I only know this is an ongoing issue because of another review from a month ago. To be treated that way, and left to stand there, was over the line for me. Customer service in hotels is a big necessity for me. If they can make it right and do what they can, then great. But they do not do that here apparently.

You feel like you’re in a tropical paradise. It’s cool getting to eat complementary breakfast by the pool.

Just don’t do it, it’s not worth it, do. not. stay. here. Got it?
We make the trip to Springfield once a year to visit a friend. We’ve stayed a few different places and this year I switched it up a little based on the amenities: indoor and outdoor pool and the place looked nice. Now, the structure itself was nice and clean. But oh my god, the walls and doors are made of tissue paper. The first night we were the ONLY room on a floor of all softball tournament kids (18−25year old males). 3 calls to security later, nothing had been done and I was on the verge of screaming at them myself. The next morning we asked to be moved, after confirming that indeed we were the ONLY non-​softball people on the floor which the manager admitted was an error on their part. We had a new room on a «quieter corner». Nope. People next door watched basketball until 1am and then had a very colorful conversation until 3am.
If you want to sleep, don’t stay here. If you sleep like the dead or want to have a loud gathering, then please be their guest!

Stayed here for a conference over 3 nights in April 2013. The hotel is definitely an old property that was dressed up and made to look more chic than the original building really is. The amenities in the room were fairly decent — newer bedding and furniture, decent shower, flat-​screen TV, iPod dock on the alarm clock, refrigerator, and microwave. When I went to brush my teeth the first night, the cold water out of the faucet looked like apple juice — dirty, gross. The hallway in my wing kind of had a funk to it, and the walls/​doors were thin. A dog was my next door neighbor, and he barked from time to time.
The conference center is a new building and has a design that hypes up the oasis-​iness. I was a fan. For banquet food, I thought the meals served were fairly decent. The free breakfast in the mornings for all guests was served in the faux oasis-​y, enclosed «atrium.» The food was nothing special. The bar/restaurant/hotel’s signature drink, a fruity concoction also containing the word Oasis, was tasty but light on the alcohol, and I thought was expensive for what you got ($ 5.00). The bar did serve a couple of delicious local brews on tap, though. I did not sample any of the food in the restaurant.
Not a terrible hotel by any means, and while Springfield is certainly large enough to have better overall options, you won’t hate yourself for staying here, either for a conference or passing through on nearby I-​44.

I really wish I would’ve checked my Unilocal!app before deciding to stay here, but we ended up getting booked here through Priceline. We got what we thought was a decent deal on a «3 Star» hotel. When we pulled into the lot, the whole scene reminded me of an old Florida beach hotel well past its prime. The room we were in was in the 500 wing which has an overview of the outdoor pool. This seems like it would be nice, but as we found out verrrrry early in the morning, this «blessing» was more like a curse.
The hotel is older and not well insulated from noise at all. You can hear everything going on in the hallway and random noise and TVs from other rooms. During the night, after we got back from a night on the town, there were people partying at the pool and we got to hear every little bit of it. In the morning, we were awakened by what seemed like endless vacuuming in other rooms, people playing in the pool, what sounded like furniture being moved around in the room above us, and people running around in the halls. This was all right around 7am, which was not fun after listening to people party it up around 2am. This is definitely not a place to go if you’re looking for a good night’s sleep.
The room was a decent size with plenty of ammenities and the breakfast was great, complete with eggs, bacon, biscuits, bagels, cereal, milk, juices, etc. That’s about all this place has going for it. Save your money and go somewhere cheaper if you’re looking for that experience.

They make this hotel look so awesome in the pictures. Let me just clarify that a pretty picture of a lit up fountain at the entrance doesn’t mean the rooms are awesome too.
The entire hotel felt like it was stuck in a distant decade. The worst is that many of the rooms face inward towards the indoor pool and breakfast dining area. The pool closes at 11… so don’t expect any type of quiet or relaxing environment until after that time.
Do yourself a favor a find somewhere a little more relaxing to stay.

After reading the lukewarm reviews on Unilocal,I was a bit concerned about booking the Ramada Oasis. Reviews on another travel site were more positive, so I didn’t know what to expect.
After a three night stay, I have to say that Marc T. is right… this is an old hotel given a low budget contemporary makeover. It is a straight up three star hotel.
There are two wings to the hotel, the 500 wing which surrounds an indoor pool and garden area, and the 400 wing which is where our rooms were and look over the hotel parking lots. The 400 wing rooms were a good size but when you walk into the room you walk into the dressing area and sink. The sink is literally right behind the door to the room, so there is no dressing area separate from the room. Odd.
The rooms have 42 inch flat screen TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, and a small work area. Comfortable enough. The bed was OK but I could hear all the noise in the hall (which also means noise from the rooms carries in to the hall so if you and your partner want to get freaky at the Oasis, you got to do it quietly). All the rooms have huge balconies that either look onto a parking lot (400 wing) or the indoor pool (interior 500 wing rooms) but unfortunately the hotel isn’t taking advantage of them.
A couple of plusses: a great free hot continental breakfast. Free wi-​fi that is fast. Great front desk service. Complimentary happy hour drink at the hotel restaurant.
Recommended for a budget hotel.
