History

Established in 1956.

Fred Rottler started a small pest control business in 1956 with a $ 10 loan from his wife’s aunt. A kind-​hearted, family man, Rottler made a lot of contacts and got even more business through referrals. Rottler’s two sons, Mike and Gary worked part-​time after school helping their dad service homes. After college in the 1980s, the sons joined the company full-​time to build the business. When Fred retired in 2000, the brothers took over and ran the family business as partners. Since then, Rottler has grown into a multi-​million dollar operation.

Today, Mike and Gary continue to instill their father’s family-​like service approach in their employees, even though Rottler is now ranked among the top 100 pest management firms in the US and is the largest independent pest control company in Missouri. Rottler has over 60 service vehicles on the streets, employs over 100 people and operates out of 6 locations throughout St. Louis, St. Charles, Columbia/​Jefferson City, and Springfield, MO areas.

Business Owner

Mike Rottler was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He and his wife, Lori, have been married for over 30 years and have two children, Jessica and Daniel. Mike’s father, Fred Rottler, started out in the pest control business back in 1956. Throughout high school, Mike worked part-​time for his father until he went on to attend the University of Missouri-​St. Louis and Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri. Shortly after college, Mike entered into the family business on a full-​time basis as a Service Technician. In 1985, Mike took over as President of the company, and has since built the business from $ 500,000 in annual revenue to over $ 10.4 million in 2011.

Mike is a Past President of the National Pest Management Association. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Pest Management Alliance, CPS/​PestSure Insurance Group, and as the chair of the QualityPro Board. He has also been an active member of Vistage International for over 12 years.
