The staff is always very friendly. I usually feel a little uncomfortable going to professional salons but Stephanie (stylist) made me feel very comfortable and she was also very nice.

I asked for Kristin because she owns the salon and I saw that she got good reviews. I wanted the best and I assumed that would be the owner. I never could have asked for the horror that was/​is my dye job. The cut was not great but fine. But the dye job was the worst experience of my life. I showed her a very specific picture of what I wanted, my hair came out looking nothing like the picture. It came out streaky and copper/​orange/​brassy and all around dull looking. So I emailed her and came back the next day to get it fixed. Worst decision of my life. It was SO much worse. She painted bleach onto the bottom of my hair and then toned it over and over again. It is all one color, and now my entire head is a brassy copper blonde MESS (I’m naturally a medium-​dark brown). It cannot be hidden. Not even with a hat. I’m going on a trip and I’m embarrassed to be seen in public. After this fiasco I’m just going to dye it back brown. I have had many a highlight and NEVER experienced this type of carelessness. Just seemed like she had absolutely no clue what she was doing. She is very sweet so I hate having to write this, but I have to warn people since the whole reason I went there was because of the good Unilocal reviews. I did a lot of research and don’t mind spending money, because hair can make or break your confidence. Also, she never once apologized, even though she was nice and took her time attempting to redo it while making it way worse, she still made me feel like it was my fault I didn’t like it. She said «that’s how it is in the picture» when I told her it was too much color. Please compare my hair to the picture I asked for below. Not to mention she put so much dye and toners in my hair that it’s now horribly brittle. And after she dyed it she blew it dry partially/​almost all the way without any product in it and then left it. I got in my car and it felt like I just got out of the pool. My hair was half wet and I couldn’t even put my fingers through it. It just seemed like she took no pride in her work. It is so upsetting. If she couldn’t see that my hair looked absolutely nothing like the picture I asked for, there is something truly wrong. Horrible horrible experience. I cried all the way home.

Amazing place! Great great customer service!!! Jackie is awesome! She gave me an awesome hair cut and blow out. She does exactly what you want and is very personable. The salon was about to close and I needed to get my hair fixed for a wedding tomorrow. They took me in no problem, made me feel great and fixed my hair! Highly recommend!!! Thanks team! You made my day.

Bangles is AMAZING! I went to Justin and he did an amazing job! He was very friendly and gave me tips on how to style it! I’m a very awkward person and he just made it fun! I will be coming back!

Good service, easy to make appointments, nice stylists. Haircuts strictly okay. Just a simple cut, doesn’t achieve the great finished look with shape and edges. My stylist was one of the junior ones, took a long time but my hair basically looked the same. Convenient because walk-​ins allowed, but pricey if you think of end result. Won’t be going back.

I have been coming to Salon Bangles for 9 years. I always work with Kristin and she is phenomenal! I always get compliments on my highlights and my hair cut. I have referred so many people here since I have been very happy with their services. I used to live in the area so I was only 10 minutes away now I have to drive an hour to get to the salon but it is worth it! All staff is very friendly and cheerful, the salons set up is really nice It is open space with cool decorations and different stations. I love the hair bar where you hang out as you are waiting for your the color to set in. They also offer organic color that is free of all the chemical. You will love their services!

One of the only salons that I’ve seen offer organic color. Organic color contains low ammonia, vegan, no sulfate, no gluten, no parabens, and no gmos. Their organic color is made of natural oils, rain forest extracts, and keratin proteins. It allows for less damage, 100% grey coverage, re-​constructive penetration and healthier shinier hair! Organic color is $ 55, glaze is $ 35, moisturizing treatment is $ 15, ombré $ 80+, mini/​partial highlights $ 45, half head $ 75, full $ 120.
The environment is super cute and chic and very inviting. As I waited for my dye to soak in, they seated me at the mini bar where there are magazines, tv, and cake!
They also sell a few accessories in the front such as scarves and necklaces. They used to have a thrift store in the back, which I wished they kept. It would have been nice to browse and shop while waiting for the color to set.

See Justin. They took the time to really wash my hair to get the dye out. Overall a great job! Total amount was $ 80 since I was a newbie. Definitely will be coming back!

Bangles is my go-​to spot for cut and color… But when it comes to styling and make up – GO ELSEWHERE. I went to get my hair and makeup done for prom a few years ago and they gave me a weird quinceañera style up-​do (not at all like i wanted…) and the make up job they did on me was a total joke. It looked like a toddler did my makeup – most amateur job ever. I complained and wasn’t charged for it but I had to run home and re-​do all of my make up… just save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.

I’ve been to this salon about 5 times. It’s unfortunate that it took me that long to realize just how bad it was. The first time I had to have my highlights redone by another stylist. I went to the second stylist the next time I went in who put an incorrect base color in my hair and I had to go back and pay for additional highlights. The manager tried to fix my hair and did improve on it a bit, however, 1 side of my hair in the front is orange. I paid almost $ 300 by the time all of this was said and done. Now I have to go to another salon to have it corrected once again. On top of all that, the second stylist got color on my pants in two places. They agreed to replace the pants if I had a receipt which I brought in with me the last time I went. They would only agree to give me a $ 25 gift certificate for, of all things, color only. I would never recommend them to anyone nor would I return.

You know you’ve found your favorite salon when you refer your 2 best friends to get their hair done there, dream of when you can make another appt, and LOVE seeing your stylist!!! Did I mention that ever since I’ve been going I have been having amazing major hair moments? Kristin is a great colorist and stylist and prices there are affordable as well.

Please help! Does anyone know where Cece went? I have coily afro American hair and she able to manage it for me. I haven’t cut my hair in the two years I’ve been looking for her :(

Incapable of cutting asian hair. They do not know what to do with it except compliment on how soft and healthy it is. Yes, thank you. After which, they will attempt at giving you subtle layers, so subtle you can actually see straight horizontal cut lines going across my hair.
I was actually naïve enough to go back to get them to «fix» it because the right side of my hair was so chunky. I left the place with that side of my hair shorter than the other.
I guess Banglez does not exactly get the most diverse clientele.

Love Courtney! She is the best. A friend recommended her after I had a terrible ombré experience and she fixed it. Very friendly place and Courtney listens to what you want done to your hair.

Went for a hair cut, roots and highlights. This is the first time I went to the salon and I’m very picky, the hair stylist Jackie took care of me, she is honestly fabulous !! I will def be back !!

So what if the wannabe Jerseylicious stylist «kinda sorta» knows how to do a blended fade. My hair will grow back.
So what if she doesn’t wield her vocational tools like Edward Scissor Hands. The smacking of her gum and chewing with her mouth open is quite a symphony. Her smoke-​filled breath on me is like a warm blanket during the winter.
So what if every stylist looks like they go clubbing, nightly.

I just got my hair cut here on Friday night.
Upon walking in, the receptionist greeted me and told me she would go get the hairstylist I requested, Jackie.
Jackie then had someone wash my hair– I believe they use organic products.
Jackie then asked me what I wanted– which was not very adventurous as I am getting married in 5 months and did not want to do anything drastic.
She was amazing and listened to everything I asked for, while continuing to ask me about layer and face frame lengths.
I will definitely return!

A few years ago I saw this girl at the Turtle Back Zoo in West Orange who had THE coolest funkiest haircut I’d ever seen. I could not resist asking her for her stylist’s info. I wanted that cut (or rather a slightly scaled down variation of the cut).
She told me it was Kristen at Salon Bangles and happened to have a biz card in her bag which she happily handed over to me and wished me the best. I booked my first appointment and I have never gone anywhere else since then. Kristen has been cutting & coloring my hair for years and has always done wonders. She can handle just about any request I’ve thrown at her from super edgy to soft and natural.
She also cuts my two boys hair (8 & 9 yrs old). I get lots of compliments from my mom friends about their cute cuts. The best of all is that the boys think they look really cool and they adore Kristen.
Everyone there is super talented and I can highly recommend!
