A standard-issue sports bar, Skybox comes equipped with all the expected accoutrements: flat screens in every direction, a friendly staff and plenty of emotional fans. Drinks are extremely reasonable and served with acceptable speed, and although this was my first visit, it’s easy to see the place has inspired a loyal group of regulars, which in my experience means they must be doing something right.

Delicious cheap bar food, I’m a fan! Lots of seating and plenty of tvs to catch a game. Really enjoyed the beef sliders and buffalo chicken dip. Also tried the chicken sliders with the pineapple habanero coating, very tasty!

Great drink specials and friendly atmosphere. They have a ton of TV’s and turn on the hockey games which is just wonderful! Great little hangout to visit for a drink and to hang out with friends.

I LOVE this place! The first time I came it was to meet a grindr hookup and we had SO much fun. The jukebox and drinks were excellent, but let me tell you about the bathroom! It’s the perfect mix of private enough to be intimate and open enough to keep the excitement level very high. This drunk guy walked in and used the urinal while I was«sitting» on my new friend’s lap. SOOO sexy. I’m getting chills thinking about it. But back to Skybox… Anyway, I’ve been hanging there recently and I’ve been really pleased with the number and quality of CMMs(closeted married men) that go there. There’s a few bears, some younger cutie pies and one or two rich old men who really know how to treat a boy ;) If you’re looking for a fun place to meet a Grindr friend, or meet a hot CMM Skybox is the place!

The lady bartender was incredibly rude! She was so rude that we left before she could even bring us our drinks. I normally write a pretty lengthy review describing my experiences, good or bad, at a restaurant. However, this experience made me so mad that I will not waste anymore of my time on the review for this bar. I will say, after leaving the skybox, we went to big whiskeys and had a great time.

I had a miserable experience on my only visit. My wife and I were there with a larger party and we drank and ate for several hours. At the end of the night I went to pay, leaving a 20% tip. As I turned to find my wife and leave I was confronted by a tall younger boy with blonde hair, a leather coat and a cross necklace. He told me that no one wanted me there and I needed to leave. I told him that I was with a group and did we all need to leave. He said yes, so we left. Once home I called to find out what the heck had just happened. Turns out there was a dispute over the tip with two people from my group. I asked to speak to the manager and she explained that I was welcome back anytime but it was close to 1am so I couldn’t come back tonight. I asked why I was kicked out by a bouncer(1st time in my life and I was 31 at the time) and she said they didn’t have a bouncer, but refused to explain why or identify who had told is to leave, but clearly had been the one who ordered it to happen. I’m 5’9″ and medium build and in a group of larger men it’s no surprise that a coward would single me out, but for it to be a non-employee acting under the direction of the manager is terribly unprofessional. When I asked the manager to remove the tip from my credit card payment she actually asked me if there was a problem with the service! EPIC! To be fair it was removed and until the end food, drinks and service were just fine. However with TOPNOTCH joints like Big Whiskeys and McSaltys a block away, there’s really no reason to risk an incident like mine.

Wasn’t too crazy about the atmosphere at first. The place was completely empty on a thursday night. But I had a gift card, so I couldn’t pass up free food. Chips and Queso were incredible, though they didn’t really look appetizing at first. The French fries and onion rings were superb! Negative: the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich was no good. Kind of blah. My boyfriend’s burger was mediocre. They didn’t have O’Fallon Weach though they advertised O’Fallon in the door. Positive: Staff was great. Our waitress went out of her way to get my meal taken off the ticket because I didn’t like my sandwich.(All without me even asking her to do that). This def revived our opinion. This bar is a bit«bro-ed» out for my liking. But I’d definitely go there again to watch a sports game and get some cheap beer with chips and queso.

Food gets a C — its just plain, regular, greasy bar food — but not the kind you crave or love. The beer selection gets a C. The atmosphere is fun though. I really don’t understand what all the hype is.

I love the Skybox. That’s about it. The food is super – I have not had anything there I didn’t like… and I’ve had their salads, chicken strips, cheesesteaks, tacos, bbq… order whatever sounds good to you – they definitely do not serve your traditional ‘bar food’…The bartenders are fast and remember what you drink, and there are tons of tvs for games and trivia. Plus, the staff is very socially active with the community, so it’s a good hearted bunch of folks who run a pretty cool bar. FYI:Turn your blinker on as you are pulling out of the parking lot – cops like to sit across the street and pull you over for minor BS to see if you are drunk.

This is the bar the wife and I enjoy going into for a drink or two. The food is pretty good and the staff is very nice. Good selection of beer on tap as well.

Got nice and drunk here quite a few times, cheap too. Lots of tv’s and lots of pool tables. Used to actually go in there when it was a gym years ago, now I go for drinks. Good times.

A great place to unwind after work or watch the game! Televisions everywhere! Great food — as far as bar food goes — try the chicken wrap, nachos or a burger. Friendly staff and you’re not bombarded with cigarette smoke. Quite possibly the largest shots in town! Private rooms and patio seating available.

Once you find this place you’ll never want to leave. This is the best sports bar in town. They have TVs every where with all the games on, not just the local favorite. That along with their great food, awesome staff, pool tables and games, and a wonderfull beer garden makes this my best pick for watching your team. They have all kinds of beer specials when the home teams are playing. If you’re coming for a big game get there early, this is a very popular place.
