Quite simply the best customer service and professionalism. Dean came out as scheduled in inclement weather as I had taken the day off. He called before he arrived, the did an amazing job pruning a 70′ tree and 5 smaller ones as well as pulling a stump and shaping up a few ornamental trees I have. The estimate was spot on at $ 450 and they honored a military discount. They finished in under 3 hours, chipped the trimmings, raked all the mess then used a blower to finish the job. I asked about some other Trees and Dean suggested we wait a year or two and gave me some advice on other arbor-​topics. Class act from start to finish. You have a customer for life and a solid referral for my neighborhood, thanks again and see you next year!

We had a huge, probably 100 year old, red oak tree removed from our front yard. It was dying, and dropping large branches all over the place. Luckily it didn’t cause any serious damage, but after a few close calls, we decided to have it removed. We got quotes from several companies. Most wanted to use a crane, but Dana said he thought he could just climb it. As a result, his quote came in well below the others. We scheduled it, and he came out the next week to do the job. It took them slightly longer than expected, but it was a huge tree! Also ended up with some damage to our neighbor’s yard, but Dana went out and filled in the holes and reseeded the areas that were affected — without being prompted to. Overall, good experience. I highly recommend them.

Just an outstanding job. I cannot recommend this company enough. They did an absolutely amazing job cutting some broken branches and trimming the 30+ feet tall trees in our back yard.
Very professional and quick performance. Just by observing their work — you could tell they have been in this business for a long time and definitely know what they are doing up there.
Licensed and fully insured (Yes, including workers comp. insurance, general liability, etc.), very friendly and super easy to work with. Using only ropes to climb up (following the code requirements precisely), no spiked boots, and no damage to the bark of the tree. Also — they offered us one of the most competitive prices (we spoke with quite a few other vendors, before choosing «Strictly stumps»). Not to mention, they cut a few extra branches that weren’t part of the initial deal, at no cost for us.

These guys were great. I filled out the estimate form online and the very next day they left a written estimate in my door. I called up and authorized the work and they came out the very next business day. The work was more than I expected; the price was competitive. I sent payment in with the invoice. The other stump removal services I contacted never came by to leave an estimate and never followed up, Strictly Stumps has outstanding customer service.

Quick, easy, excellent price — doesn’t get any easier! Received a verbal estimate over the phone to have a few stumps ground up. They arrived when expected (very quick turn around, just a couple days from our initial call), did the work as expected, and left an invoice for the agreed upon amount. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

I’ve used a number of tree services over the years. Something about this one stood out from the rest. I felt like they were very personal when they came out for the estimate and walked through my request. I got one other estimate which was a lot higher and I was happy because I really wanted to do business with SS. Scheduling was a breeze and I got a courtesy call the night before they came out. The day of the job, the two workers were introduced to me by the lead/​estimator and they went right to work. They did exactly what they said they would — cutting and clean up and made a suggestion to chop an additional small tree down which I accepted. They took my credit card payment and I will definitely call on them again.

If you are a long-​term home-​owner you are probably always trying to maintain a list of quality reliable contractors. I have a few requirements before I recommend a contractor to friends and neighbors. First, they have to have integrity. I don’t want anyone who is going to recommend unnecessary work (e.g., gotta replace that AC unit when a cheap fuse only needs to be replaced). Second, price has to be reasonably competitive for the type and amount of work (I don’t know anyone who is made of money), 3) they have to do quality work in a professional manner. If the contractor meets all three criteria then they make my recommended list. Note: I had used Strictly Stumps many years ago for stump grinding with favorable results. I’m happy that they branched out to do complete tree service. I’m happy to say that Strictly Stumps is now my go-​to company for tree work or stump grinding.
I had a fair amount of tree work to do and so I solicited three estimates from three companies including Strictly Stumps. The first contractor (begins with a T) recommended taking down 3 mature maples. I was a bit surprised and asked a friend who is employed as a landscape architect for a second opinion. Bottom line she thought the idea was crazy. Perhaps the fee was fine for the amount of work but bottom line the work didn’t need to be done. The second contractor (begins with an R) didn’t recommend that any of the maples be cut down. However, they presented additional optional work that was ridiculously priced at $ 300 (I did it myself with a pruner in 5 – 10 minutes). Pet peeve — I made an appointment so that I could walk them through the yard and discuss the potential work. They showed up on a different day and just left their proposal.
Strictly Stumps came out when they said they would for the scheduled appointment and discussed everything that needed to be done. He recommended heavily pruning one maple but noted it was still healthy and worthwhile saving. I decided to go with Strictly Stumps. They came out the following week and took care of all the trimming of various trees. Branches were taken out of the yard; ground up; and hauled away. The team came through picking up smaller pieces and blowing away saw dust. I’m very happy with the results and intend to use them again whenever the need arises.
I’d have no worries recommending Strictly Stumps to an 80yo grandmother in the neighborhood.

15 stumps out of my front yard alone for $ 360? Are you kidding me? I love you.
Added bonus — Strictly Stumps used a smaller push stump grinder, for all the stumps large and small and in the process didn’t completely tear up my lawn or obliterate a single one of my plants with a 2 ton beast on tank treads. MUCH APPRECIATED.
