I should give this place been 5 stars and this place was nice causal, not bad. Sigh, I decided to give it around 1.3 of 5 stars and I’m trying to write here for a few reasons. We have a couple of few problems with my point about«DEAF» a bit. I was very disappointed and then it was my first time to happened to my experience, here. I wasn’t impressing those male waitresses DIDNOT even notice us as DEAF customers when we ordered the dinner menus. It was the very waste of my time around 45 minutes for waiting for them. Until we realized that they threw it away, and in the addition they forgot us too. I FELT they were just ignorant and paid attendance the hearing customers than DEAF. Decidedly I left this place without these orders and then I already cooked myself for own dinner time. Someday, I would probably bring a hearing friend to straight-talk a guy who once responsible for servicing me on a complaint, next time. I will be back on them, and I’ll update on them in a few months later!!! I love these menus and this sushi teases awesome! There’s very nice in a fancy bar, have a few sports HDTV, attire looks like nice, almost look like a cabin, and the ambiance is more classy, not all of them. For ONLYDEAF: Probably, I would recommend it to you: Yes nor No. It’s pretty up to you: it would a piece of cake on you as whenever you all would get into this place if there not many customers in there, then a waitress would get a pay attendance and they won’t probably lose your orders.

The service was horrible, our server lost our order and it took an hour to get our sushi order because of this. My husband ordered hibachi scallops and they were undercooked and the hibachi was sub-par. The sushi was delicious, but because of the horrible service we will not be going back!

Really good sushi. A tad expensive but hey, you get what you pay for. Customer service was great despite being fairly busy and understaffed. Still got food in a timely manner. Got the Golden Bridge roll, Rainbow roll and Touchdown roll(spicy). All were excellent.

Really good. Very authentic. Super nice staff. Very patient. Described the dishes well. We are a ton of rolls and sushi. All very fresh and delicious. Kissy Kissy roll was off the charts. The queen roll was great.

This place needs five stars! Everything here is good. And I mean everything. I know. My family comes here on the regular and we have tried pretty much everything on the menu.

this would have been a 4 star review but our waiter left a bad taste in our mouth. first i paid in cash and the server brought back the change but helped himself to the coins. never had this happen anywhere else. then we had left our to go box on the table but got outside and realizied it was on the table went back in and he said sorry he threw it away. my wife said he started clearing the table before we left he building. this has happened before other places and the waiter or waitress stopped us to give us our food. its not his responsibility to track us down outside but we were still in there when he discarded it. now for the good part. the sushi was fantastic we ordered the kissy kissy, touchdown, geisha, rock shrimp tempura and a califonia roll. these were some of the best sushi rolls i have had anywhere and the prices were good too. the sauces were great but didnt over power the taste of the fish. the tuna on the on the touchdown was very good. so i guess all in all the food was 5 stars but the waiter was the one who deserves the 2 stars.

Strange atmosphere(Christmas lights, hammocks, etc.). Friendly staff. My Scallop Hibachi dinner was very salty but otherwise decent. The wife enjoyed her sushi. The spicy Tuna roll was a highlight.

Best in Springfield. No joke. The owners name is Spring. He also owned an Asian market in town called Spring market. I thought I’d had great sushi until I walked into this place. This man knows what he’s doing and he knows how to run a business from the service to the food everything is amazing. Bow down to this sushi master

First off, the atmosphere is the reason this doesn’t have 5 stars. The decoration is kitschy at best. It’s some sort of mix of Christmas, fishing/beach, and tropical. It’s also a little dim, and I was there at noon. The service was good. Neither outstanding or bad. Understand the server did nothing wrong, they just weren’t «wow». The food has me adding this to my favorite restaurants list. We ordered the vegetable tempura as appetizer, which was perfectly fried and delivered hot. I had the Touchdown roll and the Philly roll, both were excellent. I will gladly put up with ugly décor and average service for their sushi!

«Lunch» not served at night. Well if it’s on the menu. There is no note of «hours». It should be served. Could not get Tonkatsu Sunday night. Very disappointed. Will not return here. Sunday atmosphere is ok. Thick thousand island dressing weighing down the salad. Should’ve went elsewhere. Japanese restaurant using thousand island… The miso soup… Was different. I think it had corn starch or something. Flavoring of the Sukiyaki was good. It was lacking noodles. I got more noodles from a mall japanese Sukiyaki last week down in Louisiana. Well in the end… Unagi nigiri was spot on. Skip the menu if you come here and get the sushi. $ 18 Sukiyaki was not worth. Took one bite of salad sent it back. Finished the miso.

Fantastic restaurant with great service, cool atmosphere, and the best sushi in Springfield. Song fantastic and you’ll know her when you meet her; she gets the job done and even during busy dinner hours she’ll take the time to talk to frequent and new customers. I have been to Umi’s more times than I can count and I will definitely be back for more.

The sushi was excellent. My husband and I split a Rock Shrimp Roll, Da Roll, and Spicy Crunch Roll. These made for a great combination. Miso Soup was better than other places in town. House Salad was not as good as others in town, but still good. Our served seemed a little green but made up for it when our son’s pacifier dropped on the floor and he offered to put it in hot water for us. No one has ever offered to do that for us before and it was very appreciated!

The place is a little dim, the nets and the Christmas lights everywhere is kind of weird, but the food we ordered totally made up for the interesting décor. The crab popper were amazing, we were thinking they would be little Crab Rangoon, but instead, they were perfectly fried little wedges of happiness. The Ninja Roll was awesome, the little hint of sriracha really made it great. On top of that we got the Kissy Kissy and the Philly, both had awesome in their own ways. A neighboring table ordered the Bomb roll, which made us jealous. Next time I suppose. Totally recommend.

There are plenty of places to get Sushi in The area and all of them have something special to offer. Umi is no different. Plenty of special and standard rolls as well as traditional nigiri and sashimi. What really made the night wasn’t the super tasty Bomb roll which was almost like a spicy sushi casserole, or the fresh Snow Monster with pineapple and crab. It was the simple Eel nigiri. Eel with a touch of teriyaki and eel sauce on a rice ball. That’s it. Eel that melts in your mouth making you wish there were more than 2 pieces in an order. If you wanna discover some new flavors and enjoy fresh seafood on rice, go to Umi, you’ll love it.

Very cool atmosphere, the staff are friendly and welcoming. I love the Chicken Teppan Yaki: the sauce they use is sweet and delicious. I haven’t tasted anything quite like it. Very, very good variety of sushi/sashimi.

If I am in the mood for Sushi, this is my spot. I have tried almost every roll on the menu and I have not been disappointed. There are a few that I will not order again but overall everything on the sushi menu is outstanding My personal favorites are the Kiss and Cry, Ooo Roll, Diamond Roll and Geisha.

I love this restaurant. It’s easily my favorite in Springfield and my favorite sushi restaurant, period. Rolls are amazing here, especially the Geisha Roll! All of them are really good though. The Bomb roll, Kissy Kissy, and Oooo roll to name a few. Servers are fantastic, friendly, and the atmosphere is nice for lunch or dinner. Highly recommended restaurant.

I love this place! Great service, awesome prices, spotless and fantastic sushi! I’ve eaten at many different sushi restaurants around town and nothing compares to this! Complimentary miso soup and small salad come with each meal.
