Website says free house calls for Ma and CT. They are in Springfield, MA, which is approx. same distance to CT as is to my MA residence.
Stated basic problem. Maytag Neptune. Tells me get rid of it. Buy a new washer. Recalls, catches fire… Really? All of them? Never had any notifications?
It is just the belt, but says it is motor control and all this other stuff. $ 500+. Then says I am out of area $ 120 to show up. But website includes CT in free house call statement? There have been no recalls or fires with my specific model over 13 y.o. No problems at all.
Got manual online, free. It is just either a washer drive belt «adjustment» or drive belt replacement. Motor control panel works fine. Just not spinning. Strange over-exaggerated conversation.
Will repair myself.

Washer Wizards, or as they spell it, «Wizzards» wanted $ 488 to replace the control panel on the outside of our 2 to 3 year old Frigidaire Upright Freezer. The technician told us that it was a difficult repair and would take a long time because the entire door needed to be taken apart. «…pants on fire.» When we we were given the repair cost, I told the technician that I had a coupon for a free service call. Forget it! I was told because we had an Energy Star appliance, the free service call did not apply. What? Almost everything today is energy star. Well, we declined the service because things did not seem right, and I am glad we did. I googled the control panel and found it at Amazon for $ 68.00 so of course I ordered it. When I read how to install it I was really angry. The instructions said to snap the control panel from the door with a putty knife and snap the new one in. Kind of plug and play. Did the door need to be dismantled? No. Do not trust Washer Wizzards. Before we knew they were scammers, they fixed our Kitchen Aid electric stove, I looked the parts out today for the stove. We could have purchased them ourselves for $ 30.00 but didn’t know. We were charged a total of $ 350. Live and learn! I love it when they show you their little book with the prices for the parts. What a joke. They must have printed it their selves. Please people, be ware. Get at least three prices for different companies. The best one I just found was Sears Appliance Repair. They will service ALL appliances, and you must get the part yourself anywhere you want. They would have installed the control panel for $ 75.00 with us supplying the part. I do believe that most of the glowing reviews for the rip-off wizards were submitted by them and/or their friends. Once again… stay away unless you enjoy being cheated.
BTW, I would have given them a no star rating but I had to choose before I could submit.

Unprofessional.
I made an appointment for washer install on Monday, for Friday. I’m told it will be between 11am-1pm.
At 1:20pm, I call and ask when I can expect them to arrive. They have apparently forgot my appointment because «it wasn’t put on the books correctly». They try to make up for it by saying they can do it either Saturday or Sunday. As I am pretty pissed because I have been waiting for three hours, I say I’m going to try to find someone else. After a few calls I can’t get a hold of anyone, so I call back to see if they can come at the end of day, I’m told they won’t come because I tried to find someone else.
Classy.
Washer Wizards obviously doesn’t need your buissness.
