I think they stuck us with the 2 dullest employees possible. It started out ok with placing our orders but went down hill after that. The waitress only came to our table 1 time after the cook arrived and that was when he was leaving. We had to go get our own chopsticks and all of our table only got 1 round of drinks and that was right after we sat down. Our cook… the only way I can describe him would be grill shy. He was constantly trying to avoid the steam from the grill. There was another cook directly behind him for the other table and he was very active. I think it was actually scaring our cook. He was jumpy. The only time he spoke to our table was to verify the order. We have been there many times and this is one of worse experiences. My daughter graduated 8th grade today and asked to go there for dinner. Unfortunately is was not a good time for her.

Disappointed in the food but most of all in the management. Customer service does not exist at this place.

Mostly this is a typical hibachi cook @ your table restaurant. If you want flashing knives and airborne shrimp then this is for you. We had a sushi craving while visiting and decided to try it out. We weren’t expecting much when we walked in. It’s loud with the hibachi shows but that gives it a upbeat, social atmosphere. Our salads were just plain garden salads with watery ginger dressing, nothing exciting. They forgot to bring the Miso soup, but by the time we remembered it was too late as our sushi had arrived. The sushi was fresh, and served correctly. The sushi rice was much smaller than the fish cuts which is a nice change. The sushi bar was clean and the chef changed/cleaned his knives appropriately. The Tokyo(spicy tuna) roll was a delight with large cuts of tuna and excellent spicy sauce. The sashimi was the star. Excellent fresh cuts, served in a dragon boat with diacon and seaweed salad. I dropped a star because the green tea was bagged. Green tea should be loose and allowed to bloom.

Was disappointed in meal last night, they have reduced portions of vegetables and the noodles. The variety of the vegetables was pour more onions and squash with a very few carrots, broccoli thrown in. The fried rice was bland not up to there previous standard. Everyone was given approx. a half cup of noodles. One of our party took their meal home so they could cook the tuna. Over all scallops to greasy, shrimp okay, tuna under cooked, chicken was not cut up all the way, and beef tough.

Stopped in on a Monday. It was very quiet that night, so only a few customers. However, the food was great. The volcano roll was enough on its own, but I also got miso soup and salad. The miso was very flavorful. The salad was a little watery, but the ginger dressing was good. Total was $ 20, so not bad. Glad I stopped here.

Disappointed. Sushi was average, and service was rude. Server misread the order form I filled out and gave us the wrong sushi, one of the four we ordered. Did not acknowledge her mistake or offer to adjust the bill. Small amount but I really did want cucumber sushi instead of a crunchy shrimp tempura. We will not be coming here again but will go the extea mile to get really great sushi and friendly service at Fusion Point.

We always sit at the sushi bar and ignore the whoopla from the grills. The sushi is FANTASTIC, made especially great by the sushi chefs. If you like sushi, do yourself a favor and go. Sit at the sushi bar. You’ll thank me later.

Very busy Japanese steak house. The filet a little less quality I expected for the price but still good. Our chef used way too much oil in cooking that our rice was kind of swimming. Our waiter only checked on us once but the service was good. Over all okay– had better but there isn’t much to choose from around here

Very good. On our way to Disney and thought we would stop. Huge amount of food. Came with soup and salad. If you like shrimp or yum yum sauce on your salad tell them or else they will drown it with something else. Not bad though. We all had the following. Steak, shrimp, chicken and lobster. Very tasty and not disappointed. If you are on your way to Orlando or St. Augustine then would be a good choice of you get the urge for Japenese cuisine. Also at our table were some locals so you know it has to be good.

My wife and I found this restaurant by accident. We were on our for dinner at a BBQ restaurant, when we saw Yamato. We have Samurai/Benihana close by to where we live, and since we were traveling away from home, decided to give this restaurant a try. The service was great. The food was excellent, and the prices were more than fair. I had shrimp and calamari. Both were cooked nicely. My wife got steak and scallops. I tried a piece of her steak, which was cooked to temperature and very tender. One thing I noticed, compared to Samurai, is that I didn’t feel completely bloated after eating. Samurai uses enough butter to choke a horse. Yamato didn’t go completely crazy with butter. I wish we had a Yamato in Miami. They’d put Samurai to shame.

Our first time at this restaurant. Good was delicious. Because the chefs were cooking at two other tables when we arrived, we did wait quite sometime for our main meal. Having three young children with us they were getting hungry waiting. It was odd that once the chefs were done they went in the back & we still waited awhile before they came back out. Granted they did serve soup & salad but still too long of a wait. My biggest complaint was the large screen TV that had the news on. There was no sound but our young grandson was very much concerned about watching the Maryland protests against the police. And then North Korea missles. Unnecessary to have on during dinner!!! I guess we should have moved his seat. No need to have that on in a restaurant!!! I hope the manager reads this!

Had a very nice experience and dinner with my family here. The little one loved the cooking display with the fire and the comedy. Great couple next to us. Food from the grill was ok. I say just okay for a few reasons. A little bland, very pricey, smaller than usual portion. The Sushi is wonderful. Huge variety and sushi prices. Service was very good but things just add up so quickly. More focus on the grill items is emphasized! But I had a great time eating sushi and drinking sake so I cant complain.

First off let me say the food was plentiful, but that is what you expect in a hibachi restaurant. Now to business, the food was mediocre and the service was horrendous. You would think on a Friday they would have more than 3 waitresses working. And the waitress ignored half the table when we were placing our order for appetizers. The best thing I can say is that the fish was very good, probably because we are in a city with easy access to the ocean where it came from. Oh and the miso was simply the worst! Dishwater with seaweed added. And the ginger dressing was so gingery it felt like they used paint thinner.

Let’s just say I really enjoyed my dinner here. I love Japanese food and this place is the bomb! It’s super clean and well decorated. The staff is really friendly and the cook was hilarious. I’ve been to many Japanese steakhouses and this is the best one. I was about to try another one out and asked a lady outside of it and she recommended Yamato and not the other place. They give you bigger portions including noodles and rice. I will definitely return.

Yamato is one of our go-to restaurant. The food and service is amazing every time. My favorite part is the sauce, next to the hibachi. Which is amazing!!! The cooks are so nice, funny, and interactive. Like tossing broccoli into people’s mouths. I get the same thing every time and it’s better every time. I totally recommend this place!!!

I’ve eaten at many hibachi restaurants in my life, Yamato is not one of the better ones. The hibachi food was mediocre, the sushi was below average, and the soup and salad was awful.

This is a favorite tradition for my friends and I to go here on our birthday because you get your birthday meal for free! The food is always amazing and I love their sauces. I have been going here for probably about 10 years, it was actually my very first Hibachi experience and is still my favorite. The atmosphere is nice, they usually are not too packed and the food is always great. The cook we got this time was not at enthusiastic as some I’ve had in the past but it could also be that spinning eggs and cho cho trains no longer excite us, if he had pulled off«or attempted would have been even funnier» the egg in the hat, he may have gotten our real attention. Anyway, always good. Only complaint is they will not seat your party until everyone has arrived… which I think is slightly ridiculous since you have to wait for a cook anyway, they could at least sit you and if your party is not complete by the time your cook arrives then pass you up. Just a thought.

I pretty much think all Japanese Steak Houses are the same. If you are looking for a cool atmosphere, than this is your place. I love the dinner for two meal here. On off nights, they do some really good drink specials! The shrimp sauce here is a little on the sweet side. Also a plus is they serve noodles here as opposed to their opponent down the street that serves cabbage.
