This bar has quickly become my and my husband’s favorite bar in St. Charles. The small, intimate setting makes you feel like you’re at a party. Everyone dances to the jukebox. Cami is a fabulous bartender, she always remembers us and introduces us to new people. Always happy to drop in and see familiar faces. Also, you can’t beat $ 2 PBRs and $ 8.50 pizzas.

Historic on the outside, and friendly on the inside. I stopped in at lunchtime because I wanted to take a look at the cocked-hat bowling downstairs. The bar has a comfy neighborhood feel to it. When I told the bartender that I was a vegetarian, she was quick to point out my menu options. I had them make a cheese sandwich. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were generous, and they gave me mayo on the side so I could add exactly the amount I wanted. A 4-star unpretentious neighborhood bar.

This great neighborhood place is definitely where I would hang out if I lived in St. Charles. Some friends and I headed there to kill sometime when we were in town for a wedding. The small interior boasts just about every Budweiser bottle imaginable, and $ 1 bottles on saturday afternoons — perfect to get the wedding celebration off to an early start. Also on saturday afternoons they have $ 1.50 burgers. The burgers were pretty standard and comparable to the typical fast food fare, but the fresh wheat buns and crisp lettuce and tomatoes definitely put it above your average fast food burger. Also, we ordered chicken tenders and fries, which I know are hard to mess up, and these were perfectly crispy, but not greasy. All in all, the corner bar isn’t fancy or offers pretentious food, but it is a great little place for the people of St. Charles; if I’m ever back, I’d be more than willing to stop in again.

Great little dive bar in St. Charles! Its a great little down-home place. In the basement, there are two lanes for 3-pin bowling. It is the only 3-pin bowling lanes in the United States. Its got a very retro vibe… imagine old style, writing on the walls, lower ceilings… very fun. The stairwell to the basement is very small and windy… watch your head! My family rented out the basement«bowling alley» for a party. It was very reasonably priced to rent out the place. We were allowed to bring food to the place. So it was a cheap fun activity for a Saturday evening! You aren’t allowed to bring in any drinks, at all, but that wasn’t a problem because the bar was just up the stairs. My husband and I already talked about getting a group of friends together and going again… definitely recommend!

Free bowling in the basement of this old shotgun neighborhood bar was the draw for a birthday party. The lanes are small and we had to get someone to set up the pins, but FREE& silly fun. I had to order the drinks upstairs because there was no bartender downstairs. The place is a small friendly dive. I had fun seeing some locals have a good time with cheap booze & entertainment on this Friday night. The draft selection is small, but they had more than standard bottle selection of beer.(plus they had Grand Ma) Corner Bar & Grill is a definite destination for enjoyable evening on the while on a budget in St Chuck.

The Corner Bar is a St. Charles institution and I believe this is the oldest bar in St. Charles. If you haven’t been here the only thing you are missing out on is the three pin bowling they have in the basement! Yes, I said three pin bowling!!! Once you make your way down the steep narrow stairs there is a whole other land. There are two lanes for your bowling pleasure. You have to set up your own pins or they have someone who will do it for you for a fee. The ball is about the size of a grapefruit and the perfect weight. It’s been a long time since I have taken advantage of the bowling, but I feel the urge coming on now. If you are looking for a neighborhood bar with run of the mill food then you should stop by. The beer selection is pretty standard, but not the worst I’ve ever seen. I stopped by for lunch because of the special board I pass by everyday. That day they had philly cheese steak on special. It was ok, not terrible. I wouldn’t go back for another one, but I would go for a burger or maybe the catfish. When you stop by there will be the«regular» folks that come here everyday. I like a place that has regular folks. The service was good and the bill was not expensive. If you are looking to avoid the college kids in the area this is a safe haven. The menu isn’t very big, but there should be something for everyone.
