Bubbles N’ Barks

Having recently moved to Detroit I asked a friend for a recommendation for a groomer. They said they had actually tried several groomers in the area but were never pleased until they visited Bubbles N’ Barks. They had actually recommended one groomer– rebecca maybe? but I was in a hurry to get my dog in so I just went with first available. We have since been back three times and are pleased enough. We have a poodle mix and I hate when they give her a poodle haircut with a shaved nose and fluffy hair on top – Just silly – don’t poodle my doodle.=] But the groomer is definitely trying to get it just right and she makes notes in the computer after our visits so she knows what we liked and what we didn’t like. I’m sure on the 4^th visit, it will be just right. I’m not too stressed about the haircut because it always grows back, but I really appreciate that they care enough to ask and make notes. That, to me, is reason enough to return.

In the past they have done a great job. The last time I was there the groomers were complaining about pay. Then the groomer called me and told me that she cut a bump on his tail and she stopped the bleeding. I went there to pick him up. He was a mess. Had to take the him to the vet. Was on antibiotics. He’ s terrified to leave our house now to go to vet. I hope I can find a caring groomer who won’t hurt him now.

I’ve taken my spaniel here three times, and each time he left with an increasingly bad haircut. Most recently, his coat was uneven, his face was completely shaved, and his body was covered in loose hair. Bubbles N Barks has convenient weekend hours and the staff is friendly, but for $ 45 I expect an even and nice job. We will not be returning.

Needed to find a new groomer and let Unilocal guide me to Bubbles and Bark. Just picked up my Pekinese and am thrilled with the service. We were greeted right away and Susan asked a lot of questions on how I wanted Pumpkin done. Clean, friendly, easy to park. Lots of fun stuff to buy, but no pressure to buy anything. I’m a happy new customer of the whole place and will definitely request Susan next time

Just picked up my Bichon. He was groomed by Jodi and she did an excellent job. I’m really happy I found this place. Tried different groomers in grosse pointe and they did a bad job. After doing some Unilocal research I found this place and I’m glad I went there. The owner was there and sat to talked to the clients. And he’s very detailed, he wants to make sure the dogs don’t leave with hair all over them. Highly recommend this place.

I just moved to the neighborhood and was grateful to find a welcome gift certificate for $ 20 off grooming in the mail. I don’t usually get much grooming for my dog since she is a chug and we can do much if the maintenance at home but I thought I would treat my pup after our move.
I was very impressed by how helpful and friendly the staff was and how well they took care of my anxious dog. She not only smelled great when she came home but her nails were the shortest I have ever seen them. She also looked so cute with her little pink feathers behind her ears.
We will be back and I highly recommend bubbles and barks!

We recently moved to the area and I’ve been trying to find a groomer suitable for our big baby! We used to take him to PetSmart when we were living in Ann Arbor because it was convenient for us. It was pretty pricey and anything you wanted to do cost extra. Oatmeal bath? Extra. Clip toenails? Extra. A deep brushing? Extra. Shave paw pads? Extra.
I was amazed when I called here and they told me ear cleaning, shaving the paw pads, and clipping toenails was included. I was so excited! I made an appointment for 3:30, arrived around 3:20 and they knew exactly who was coming to them.
The first place I had gone in Grosse Pointe Woods almost didn’t have his appointment written down and took forever, plus it had smelled like he hadn’t actually been washed. Maybe just some perfume thrown on him.
When I arrived at Bubble’s and Barks the young lady even asked me if he had any skin allergies. I said we believed so but that we weren’t sure what they were. She said she would use a different kind of shampoo on him. Plus with the dandruff she would give him an oatmeal bath and some extra brushing for shedding. He was done in about an hour and half, he’s a German Shepard mix so he’s not a small boy. When I arrived he looked adorable. All fluffy wearing a little bandana. He smells so wonderful and his nails look amazing. The price was wonderful and so were the people. I’ll definitely be bringing our big baby back here again!

Great place to take your dog for a bath. They supply everything you need. You can do it self serve or have them wash your dog for you. They take care of everything. Leave the cleanup for them.

They treated my little Yorkie like a VIP. We adopted him and he had never been cut. 5 mos and first visit to the groomer! Service was so friendly. i was basically a walk — in but they were super helpful and speedy. he looks fantastic and the eye boogies are history! I would recommend this establishment to anyone and we’ll be going back. Next up, Chihuahua dental treatment!

went there for the first time and the workers here are very friendly! i ended up having to switch groomers because the last place i went to had my dog worried and acting weird for a whole couple days. the price was right and my dog is very happy! not to mention they cut him exactly how i wanted him and he came home smelling excellent! it only took about a couple of hours for him to be finished. i will be back to this place!

We have been taking our three Yorkies here for a while now, but I think it is time for us to find someone new to groom our dogs. They are nice and priced very competitively, but as of late it is taking longer and longer for them to be groomed.
All of our dogs are small and weigh less than ten pounds each so I wouldn’t imagine it taking longer than an hour-​ish per dog to groom, but this last time it took them six hours to finish. We had an afternoon appointment and I ended up calling around 7:30 at night to get a status and was told it would be another hour.
We left and got there at 8:30 only to find they were still not done and it would be «about 15 more minutes» until they would be ready. Well that 15 minutes turned in to an hour and at this time the place had already been closed for 30 minutes and they were in the process of cleaning up. When she was finally done we weren’t overly satisfied with the end result and had her re-​trim the hair on the face and ears of one of our males as it was still pretty long.
The thing is we told her what we wanted, they also have pictures on file and records of how we want them to look when done and it was as if she didn’t even pay attention to any of it. Our other male was also still pretty shaggy on the face as well, but at this point we were already frustrated at how long it took and the lack of an apology for the inconvenience plus we just wanted to get them home so they could eat.
I am not sure if she was trying to groom more than just our dogs at the same time or if she was just slow, but I think we are going to look in to a mobile grooming service the next time they need to be done. They cost a little more, but they come to you and your dogs are the only dogs they are working on during that time. Plus I don’t have to plan my day around waiting for the groomer to call me when they are ready. If I want to start cooking dinner or want to mow the lawn I can.
As they say in the movies during a breakup scene, it’s not you it’s me. Actually it is a little bit you. I’m just trying to be nice and hope we can still be friends.

We were very pleased with Bubbles n’ Barks. Our golden retriever was used to being spoiled at his old groomer and when we moved he was very sad… but now we have a wonderful and trustworthy place to take him to. The price was more than reasonable, the place was clean, and everyone was friendly. He came home happy and very handsome! We will definitely go back!

Danielle made our new terrier-​mutt mix rescue look adorable. Despite being shy and reserved, our pup had a constantly wagging tail and seemed to know just how great she looked after she was groomed. Because of skin allergies she’s prone to, they used an oatmeal-​based shampoo which caused absolutely no skin irritation or allergy issue.
The dog cookies they had for sale looked so good that I’m still craving a good cookie.
The prices on all of the products seemed very good — a certain pricey brush they had there was at least $ 15 less than I’ve seen at other pet stores in the area.
I love this place and absolutely will be back.

Bubbles N’ Barks is a great, locally owned business with friendly and accommodating staff. I love that we can take our French Bulldog in and actually give him a bath while standing upright-​what a concept! If you are tired of bending over the tub to give your dog a bath, I suggest you give Bubbles N’ Barks a shot-it’s a wonderful place.

The people were very nice. It was kind of blah in there. It was not very comfortable feeling. But my yorkie went in shaking and come out very happy. The cut was pretty good and it was cheaper. $ 33 for a yorkie cut. I will go back again.

found this place in a pinch while visiting town. Aaron is AWESOME! he is one of the nicest groomers I know. He and his wife both took great care of the dogs. even down a groomer they busted their @$$es to get my dogs done in the time they said.
they use GREAT cleaning products as well. and the price, well I have never been so happy to pay.
there is also self-​washing stations, i didn’t use them but ppl that were seemed very happy.
this place needs to be on the news or something. they deserve major props for everything.

We decided to try Bubbles N’ Barks to get our dogs groomed after we saw they offered Blueberry Facials with their grooming packages. We are suckers for spoiling our pets, so we thought we would give it a whirl.
When we first drove past the place, we thought it was just a «drive through» dog wash, but they offer full service grooming as well as gourmet doggie treats, collars and other dog products.
The place was very clean, spacious and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. We love that they have such late hours during the week (open until 9, as well as Sundays) which works well for those who work a 9 – 5 job.
They did a great job grooming our two wiener dogs and they smelled so good and their coats were so soft when we picked them up. We will definitely go back to Bubbles N’ Barks.
