Micro Center

The store is super clean and organized. I do not need sales people as I build and repair computers and do all my own tech stuff. I came to MicroCenter after TigerDirect is going out of business. I had purchased all computer components and electronics from Tiger for 12 years. Walking into MicroCenter I was impressed with the volume of items in stock. I have found my new go to store for computer builds and repairs components.

Great service, knowledgeable staff. Worth the trip. Leagues above Best Buy. I had hardware trouble with the laptop I bought, had ZERO hassle getting the unit replaced. Oliver, the tech guru who helped, was awesome.

Micro Center is definitely the place to go for any computer or electronic related products. I would typically buy my electronics on eBay as their prices aren’t that competitive, but they do have almost anything you are looking for. The staff is well trained and well informed, but just don’t expect a speedy checkout.

I love shopping here but it seems the quality of staff has gone down hill the last few years. I’ve had to correct the sales people a few times and today I’m pretty sure all the guys on the floor were in the same frat. I was debating buying a new stone but they annoyed me. And in the time they were playing grabass they didn’t even think to ask if I needed help. I didn’t but they should have been a bit more professional on the floor.

I continue to visit this business until I’ve had a bad experience, and then I stay away for a few months until a sale lures me back into the store. If service were consistent I would award a five star.
There are, however, some fantastic salesmen. They are able to offer advice about the technical aspects of your contemplated purchase which will influence your purchase once you are informed. Although I embrace technology, I simply do not know everything that some of the salesmen do. I really appreciate their help in some of my purchases.
I tried to use their low price guarantee once and it was far too much work. I was made to feel like a nuisance. I hope they realize that if the low price guarantee was easier to use, I would walk out of the store not only with the sale item, but probably a cart filled with other items too.
I like the location of the store. I usually also stop in one or two of the other stores nearby.

As usual Micro Center sucks. I am standing waiting to buy a computer. I finally found someone to ask for help and he said «I am the manager you need a sales guy» and he walked away.
I so wish there was a competitor nearby. Micro Center would be out of business in 90 days.

i come in here a good deal because
1) they are a certified apple dealer and repair shop
2) they sell apple products way under the prices of Apple & the Apple Store
3) the sales staff is knowledgable longterm & stable. i have an engineering background and i like to talk specs. these guys talk tech with me.
4) im a biz guy. they respect my bottom line.
5) they carry stuff to the car for you. free.
6) a lot of ancillaries sold here, like gold tipped HDMI cable, conversion cables, connectors, surge protectors, batteries, et al.
7). build your own PC. an entire dept. its like the old hobby shop where you bought planes and models.
8). lots of sales & remaindered items.
9). cool tech & computer mags.
10). they have tons of printers, scanners, copiers, et al. most of them on special.
This place is SO much better than Staples. lower prices, better selection. And they send an info packed newsletter of what is for sale often, not email. we geeky nerdy engineering types like to read.
and, of course, talk tech.

I took my year-​old MacBook to the Apple store in Ardmore because it was having trouble booting. An employee opened it up, and within seconds said the entire laptop was shot, and I would need to buy a new one. He claimed water damage. As this was quite disheartening, I brought the laptop to Micro Center in St. Davids. Here, they opened up the laptop and actually took time to diagnose the issue. $ 100 later I had a working laptop.

I recently needed a new legacy (Windows 7) laptop. My local Best Buy (which I first visited, despite feeling like I was about to make a pact with Satan) fortunately had none. Nor did hhgregg (which I like, given their reputation). I looked online and found another computer dealer which has since stopped retailing. Thus, I came to this store, which had a good selection to offer. I was assisted by Dave Block, who ably helped, answering my technical questions and recommending a product with which I’m quite satisfied. I highly recommend this store & Mr. Block in particular.

Terrible! Drove an hour to get there today with my 10wk old son to buy a 60inch TV for my 5 year anniversary surprise present for my husband. Walk in give them the sku and they bring it up to checkout.
The cashier asks me if I need help out to the car… Ughh yes, it’s 60 inches I have a baby in a car seat and I’m 5ft tall. I guess I could help someone get it into my car. So they ask me to pull my car up, fine. 15 minutes later no one has come out with my tv. I walk up to the window and point at the tv and they lip someone is coming, fine. 5 minutes later my baby is crying so I’m getting annoyed too. Grab my baby (still in the car seat) walk in and grab the dolly the TV is on and told them I have to leave I guess I have to do this alone. 4… FOUR… Employees watched me load it into my SUV. Why? Why could none of you come help me? So pissed off I called the store on my way home to talk to a manager and the phone rang for 5 minutes! Place is a joke go to Best Buy.
To top it off somehow they sent the receipt to my husbands email (they didn’t ask if they could) and now he knows what he got for our anniversary. They screwed up my day twice.

Horrible customer service; the little Chinese guy was not helpful at all. We had to keep asking him questions and he seemed like he wasn’t interested in helping us; almost like we were a bother to him. My experience at this micro-​center was horrible.

For 8 years all I have ever heard is that MicroCenter is mecca for computer nerds. I don’t drive, so because it is not in the city, that has prohibited me from ever visiting.
A friend needed to replace her laptop on a budget, so I suggested this place and we went out together. It’s a 45 minute drive — EACH WAY — but we made the trek and got her a ‘new’ laptop.
This ‘new’ laptop was riddled with so many issues it was almost comical. The most drastic was that the battery did not hold a charge. So we made ANOTHER trip to return it and get a different one.
We decided to go with a refurbished different model, got that one home, and guess what? THE BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE. How could you possibly completely look over and inspect a refurbished item and miss such a major issue? The second you boot it up Windows gives you a pop up window saying the battery is no longer holding a charge, for chrissakes!
All of this would be just a little more tolerable if the staff wasn’t so abysmal. The girl in returns/​customer service is just a full on bitch, plain and simple. She has NO business working a job that requires interaction with the public. Even the manager I asked to speak to regarding the return of the SECOND COMPUTER was rude as HELL.
Don’t go here. EVER. For ANY reason.

Just purchased a new monitor at Microcenter, and an awesome guy named Matt went above and beyond to help me out. Everyone else was extremely nice and helpful when looking for other items. I will definitely be returning for future items (most things here are always cheaper than Newegg, Best Buy, amazon, etc)

I needed some more memory for a laptop and I couldn’t wait for shipping. After trying and failing to find a specific laptop memory chip at several office type stores, Microcenter was my last hope. They came through with exactly the part I needed, at a price competitive with the internet. It’s a great thing that this place still exists in this day and age of everything online. Microcenter is more than a computer store it’s a community resource. Don’t ever change Microcenter!

Seriously, how hard is it to just put the price you’re going to pay at the register on the shelf? I am so goddamn sick of every other thing I buy here ringing up for $ 15 – 20 more at the register. They have a great selection and good prices but it just irritates the hell out of me.
Their staff are usually pretty knowledgeable and have always been more than happy to help explain anything you may need help with. My friend says their tech help people are even more knowledgeable and helpful.

Gosh. The building from the outside is ugly!!! But the staff have been knowledgable. They are several levels smarter than people at say… Best Buy. They are computer geeks. I’ve had them fix a computer for me as well and they were able to replace the parts that were broken.
This is my go to place for computer parts and accessories.

Great build your own brick and mortar store. Cool selection of electronics hobby equipment. The customer service is atrocious. I asked for help in the hobby section from two different people and the deer in headlights look was immediate. The staff cared more about getting their barcode on the product I picked off the rack because it appears they get a commission. The staff should probably know something as fundamental as soldering. It’s an electronics store.
Then there’s the return/​exchange line, which is intermingled with the computer service center. What a catastrophe. Maybe it was a bad day for them. There are people in front of me that have been ere over a half hour waiting to make a return. I have been waiting a half hour. This is unacceptable for a basic return.

Got some great customer service when I stopped in yesterday… Had to return some printer ink that I had received in the mail (Christmas gift) that had already been used… Yeah, some jerk apparently bought ink, took it home, opened up the packages very carefully, stuck their used ink in there, and sealed the package back up… All to save $ 65. Anyway, I explained the situation and didn’t have any trouble at all exchanging the ink. For that, I am thankful because I wasn’t expecting it to be so easy :)

Went in here for the first time in a while this past Friday. I was expecting to just check out some computer cases for an upcoming build, I ended up walking out with half the components I needed for a new PC.
I cannot express how thoroughly knowledgeable their sales team is. I made another visit last night and between the two trips, I spoke to 3 different sales associates. Each time, I asked very specific questions and always got very thorough and clear answers. I was even educated a bit on RAM frequencies, the amount of platters in hard disk drives, the latest processors and mobo sockets. Not only did I learn a thing or two on my visits, but I truly felt that the sales staff understood my needs and was concerned about saving me some money. It’s particularly easy to overstep that sweet spot of price for performance when it comes to PC building. They understood me and helped me achieve it.
All things considered, their inventory is great and their prices were better or competitive-​to online prices (after factoring sales tax). I even had to return something last night and that went EFFORTLESSLY. I even learned that certain open items could be returned the same way as unopened item. This place is absolutely great, especially for someone building a PC but good for just about anyone looking for Mac/​PC computers, accessories, video game consoles, cameras and just about every little related knick knack.
I couldn’t be happier about this place.
