Verizon refused to work with me. My iPhone 5 was a month short of my contract and was dying a slow death. Initially met with Mark who was very accommodating. He and the rest of the staff at AT&T were very helpful in helping me migrate my information from my old iPhone 5 to the new 6. There was a special on a new iPad and they assisted me in migrating my old information. They ran into a few snags in but after several specialists were involved everything was migrated. Awesome customer service.

In this country, we are divided on many things. From political ideology to the platforms those ideological parties represent, opinion from one American to the next on how large a role the government should have in ‘social prosperity’ is no different. But no matter which side of any popular social issue you might be on, it is likely you believe the government should ‘legislate this way’ or ‘legislate that way’ instead of asking the question, ‘Why does the government think it has any business in this at all?” There are a few things, however, that most of us as Americans agree on. Mass surveillance is one of them. We don’t want the government collecting private data from the digital social networks we belong to, and that unwarranted search is a violation of the law. We put our trust into the vendors and providers of these services that the level of privacy agreed upon in the beginning of the relationship is a covenant. Unfortunately, this is not the case. In the light of current events about mass surveillance, we have seen the examples of how our government surveils it’s citizens. And they’re doing it for any reason… or no reason at all. Bulk surveillance programs are fielded, operational and have been for years. Now that we are cognizant of it, the vast majority of us don’t like it, and demand accountability for it. ATT was actually sued by the EFF for willingly participating in surveillance for the NSA. I have a big problem with that. Earlier In the year ATT sent sent their subscribers an email that stated(and I’m paraphrasing) «Unless you specifically call us and and tell us we can’t, we are going to share your cell call data and the data of those with whom you communicate … With our partners.» This data consists of metrics you would find in your phone bill. ATT does have a decent network, but I would encourage anyone who can… to dump ATT. At least Google pretends to care about you. ATT doesn’t even like you enough to lie to you. And fake they care. They pissed me off enough that I cancelled them today, without a contingency plan. Are there any Tech providers that actually do what they say and have the spine and documentation to back it up? I switched to ATT because it was the single source carrier for the iPhone. I remained with them because since 2007 I was lazy. Today I’m ATT free. I will return I’m sure… as an off contract user, so when they treat me like crap again, I’ll get to tell them I’m canceling my service again.
