History

Established in 2001.

The Computer Connection of Southern Utah is owned and operated by Craig and Shelyce Maxwell. Both Craig and Shelyce are longtime residents of Southern Utah. Craig recounts that ever since he was a young child, he has always dreamed of owning his own business. Today, that dream has become a very successful reality. The Computer Connection was founded in 2001 and was headquartered in the Maxwell’s townhome. In the beginning Craig was the only technician while Shelyce managed the office.

Today The Computer Connection has grown to employ 6 people, and is currently headquartered in a beautiful retail location in the Dixie Sunset Plaza, close to The UPS Store on Sunset Blvd.

Business Owner

Craig started programming computers in middle school while working on a science fair project. He fell in love with computers so much that all through high school, college, and his first few jobs, his positions always dealt with computer technology.

Craig says his first real computer career began when he was hired at Tuacahn Center for the Arts in Southern Utah. He was hired as the first network administrator, and throughout his years there, developed new ticketing software that was used for over 10 years. While working a Tuacahn, Craig founded The Computer Connection. At first he would work at Tuacahn during the day, then visit clients homes and business in the afternoons and evenings. Eventually The Computer Connection was large enough to support Craig full-​time and he made the leap.

Craig has a special place in his heart for teaching others how to use technology. He likes to see the expression on their face when they learn something new. «It’s like a whole new future has opened.»
