Bodega Shipping Co., Napa Valley

I used a local gourmet store to have holiday gift baskets shipped to clients. The store was super responsive and helpful. However, the shipping company they used was Bodega Shipping. I received a charge from Bodega Shipping for $ 1567 for 13 packages to be shipped. That is $ 120 per basket to ship, which was almost the same cost of each basket! Outrageous pricing! When I contacted the gourmet store they apologized and worked to get a credit. After 2 months the answer was «that’s what is charged for shipping overnight.» We didn’t ask for overnight shipping and was supposed to have received a quote before shipping which we never did. Never ever use them!

These guys are great for any shipping needs! I work in the wine industry and anything that needs to be shipped, I take here! Our company has an account with them and when I need to ship something, I just walk in, drop it off and they handle it. The people behind the counter are always super friendly and it’s much more enjoyable than dealing with other shipping businesses. Go with local!

Went to Bodega to ship our wine home. After consulting with the staff we decided to pack it for checking at the airline. The staff was awesome, talked us through everything and then packed up our package for us, including ice packs. Great service, thanks!

One of our wineries gave us a postcard from Bodega and after looking at these reviews (even the nonsense negative one written out of emotions), we decided to go with them. They were very nice, professional, and safely shipped 18 bottles from St. Helena to our home on the east coast. The wine arrived in perfect condition, room temperature, and nicely packaged 48 hours from dropping it off. They put ice packs in there to keep the bottles from heating up. This sure beats worrying about buying too much and fear of stuffing it in your luggage and breaking. Buy extra insurance. I think they only give you $ 100 of insurance off the bat, but every additional $ 100 is only $ 2. Totally worth it in the event UPS or Fedex loses or breaks hundreds of dollars of wine.

Based on the previous bad experiences with wine shipping companies in the Saint Helena area, I decided to look on Unilocal to see if there were other options. That is when I came across Bodega Shipping Co and found some great reviews so I thought I would give them a try. I was in town wine tasting in mid April and decided to purchase an expensive case of wine for a friend in Utah because they helped with my move out west. I had also purchased three cases of wine for myself. Before I headed back to Utah, I visited the Saint Helena location to ship a total of four cases of wine totaling over $ 3800.00, one to a friend and three to myself. Everything seems to go OK when I dropped the wine off to be shipped but when I returned to Utah, I waited for a few days to receive my wine because that is what I was told by the person working the counter that day in mid April.
So I waited, and ended up waiting for over a week and still nothing. However, my friend did receive his case of wine but it was the wrong wine. I had specific instructions on the paperwork and box that was left at Bodega that day and they shipped him my case of Merlot instead of the case of Cab Sauv. After speaking to my friend and him stating he received a case of wine, the wrong wine, I tried to contact Bodega to find out where my other three cases of wine were and I could not get through to anyone. After trying to contact them four days in a row, two of my cases showed up, but to date I am still missing the one case of Merlot that I purchased for my friend.
After trying for over a week and a half, I finally got in touch with some rude customer service person at Bodega in Saint Helena and I was told that there were not able to locate my case of Merlot and would look into it. Well, after weeks of waiting I finally had enough and called them to refund my money for the shipping and to file the claim on the lost package. I was told that because it was going to Utah, that they were not going to refund anything. As for using them again or recommending them to anyone, I would tell anyone who asks to never trust Bodega Shipping Co because they are rude and very unprofessional. They are lucky I can’t give them zero stars because that is what the experience was worth.

Great staff, rates and service. I’ve shipped many times through Bodega, and have never had a problem! They make every effort to meet your needs. Thanks guys!

I bought way too much wine during my June 2014 wine trip. So I saw Bodega Shipping on Unilocal and stopped by there to ship my wine home. I bought a box to ship the wine, they wrapped it and added a cooling pack (since it was shipping during summer). The wine arrived when they said it would and in great condition. I didn’t want i traveling during the 4^th of July holidays and it got to me before then. The rates were very reasonable. I’m sure I’ll overbuy again on my next trip and I will definitely use Bodega Shipping!

We needed a box to carry all of our wines back home. Bodega sold us a box with styrofoam insert for wine bottles for a very reasonable price. We checked the box as luggage and all of our wine arrived safely. Very nice customer service, I recommend giving them a call if you need a box.

My wife and I were lucky enough to stumble upon Bodega (Sonoma location) at the tail end of our wine country trip. The wine made it all the way to New Jersey on time and damage free. Both gentlemen were extremely polite, gave us more wine tasting recommendations and we even got to pet the sweet dog (hooray for responsible pittie owners). I would recommend Bodega to anyone who needs to ship wine from the area and hopefully we will get to use them again soon for another wine order!

We use Bodega for all our wine shipments and couldn’t be happier. They are so accommodating. And they do it all not just wine… We have sent all kinds of things and they figure out a way to pack it and get it where we need when we need it. The very best thing is they pick up on site. I know that all I have to do is make a call or send an email and the Bodega van will pull up in no time!
No other shipping company near here comes close to the exceptional service Tony and his staff at Bodega provide.
