Andre Tuckpointing & Brickwork

I don’t know why I ‘m doing this a year after I need the work done but here it goes…
As I stated in my original review, things happen and I understand. We are human and we can’t control everything that happens in our lives. I hope you recovered from whatever illness you were going through at the time. God bless.
With that being said, your workers can control their attitudes and how they treat prospective customers. Your worker who came out that day (who claimed to be an owner) was rude, arrogant and disinterested in doing any work at my house. Maybe he was having a bad day, I don’t know but customer service is NOT your company’s best attribute.
I will never know how good your work is because I will never contact this company for any work to be done and I highly recommend others follow in my footsteps. I did call another tuck pointing place and the owner respectfully told me that the job was too small for his company. On top of that, they actually referred me to one of their competitors!
By the way, I looked on YouTube and found a video of what I needed to be done. I did the job for about $ 100 and 3 hours of my time on a Saturday. All I needed done was a flat screen TV mounted on a brick fireplace over a mantel, that’s it! And you’re telling me that job was too big for your company? Please!!!

Here’s my experience with Andre. They tuckpointed my house because I had interior water damage on my walls. That part seemed to go ok. I was instructed to wait 6 months to repair the interior walls to allow them to fully dry out. I waited 14 months before having the walls repaired. After re-​plastering and repainting the walls, the water damage returned after further rain. This is where things go downhill. I contacted Andre to come back out to re-​examine what the problem may be. They came back out and collectively we looked at the inside walls but a he didn’t have a ladder to get back up on the roof to take a look. He stated he would come back the following day to inspect and asked if I required being there to which I said no. He had my permission to climb up and take a look. From this point on I have never heard anything from them. I patiently waited 4 weeks before calling the office. June was a record rainfall month… I live here, I experienced it too. When I called I was told this (and I quote) «You know there’s been a lot of rain in the area and it’s difficult to get up on a roof and inspect when it’s raining as much as it has». This doesn’t explain why I haven’t been contacted in over a month. I was then told «there’s a note on his desk to call you so hang tight and I’m certain he will get with you soon». That was 3 ½ months ago. I have chosen not call them out of principle and I will be seeking out another opinion from Galati and Sons. I’d like to point out that I wasn’t pointing a finger at them demanding they make retribution for the persistent problem. I let them know that if there’s a problem above and beyond the original work, I would gladly pay them to have it resolved. All I need is to have my leaking walls fixed… that’s it.

They did a great job rebuilding the brick chimney on my old house. Very professional and courteous workers. They let me know what was going on the whole time, and stuck to their original cost estimate unlike a lot of contractors who will start adding to the price after work starts. How do I know their work was good? Because they did the chimney 12 years ago and there has not been a single leak or problem! Now that’s a review you can take to the bank.

We have a historic home in Olivette. A structural engineer who inspected our basement recommended several companies that know how to work on old houses, and Andre was one of them. In contrast to the poor reviews I saw on this sight, our experience with Andre couldn’t have been better. They finished the job in one day, instead of the projected two days, cleaned up everything, and charged a fair price (maybe even more than fair). They did an excellent job and we couldn’t be more pleased.

I currently have someone else finishing the work Andre started. They were supposed to come wash the house down, but never showed back up. The entire experience with Andre was horrible. Stay away from this company!!! I only gave one star because you have to put something in here. THUMBS DOWN!

I had a fantastic experience with Andre. They did a complete tuck-​point on my entire 102 year old historic home. Their workers were respectful to me and my neighbors. They worked in 105 degree summer heat. They also re-​built my entire front porch which now looks amazing. The guy who worked on the porch took personal pride in rebuilding and painting it. It looks amazing. They had the best bid of 4 companies i had come out. Yes, it took a while to get the job done but I wasn’t in a hurry. The difference in my house is night and day. It just looks great. Let me tell you something about Brian, the owner. He employes people who need the work and do a great job. He puts food on the table of workers who need work, even if it means less profit for him. He was always strait forward with me about everything and he truly cared about finishing the house the way I wanted it. If you drive around the city you will see their signs everywhere. They are the working class backbone allowing people to improve their properties on an affordable level. Again, I can’t express how happy I was with Andre.

Funny. Someone responded to my post and I guess she thought I would not remember she works this place. Of course she is going to give them glowing review and told me I needed to be patient. It was not about me patient, it was that I was promised to have quotes by certain day and never got them. Call me silly but I know when I tell a customer they will have something by a certain date, I sure as hell try to get them or I call and ask them for another day. None of this was done by Andres. However, I found a great tuck pointer who did a great job! I will be writing a review next on him! :)
