Studio 16

Im very picky when it comes to my hair. I have very thick, coarse, curly hair. Plus this visit was a special occasion. I chopped off 9 inches to donate in honor of my sister who has the breast cancer gene. Being a two time cancer survivor myself, i was a little disappointed they didnt do anything special for the occasion. Pictures, stuff like that. But kelsey was great! Took time to get to know my hair and cut it appropriately, giving me a cute style to leave with! Even offered me beer during the cut and she ran about half hour into her next appointment without rushing me and even shushing me when i apologized (my hair takes a long time!) All in all, a great experience!

My daughter and I both received haircuts from Ellen. She did a wonderful job on both of us! Also she’s amazing with kiddos. Usually it takes me a long time to find a stylist I like and this time it only took me one try :)

Everyone needs to get their hair cut here!!! I was referred to Studio 16 by a friend and I love it. Everyone is super laid back and fun. My stylist is Nichole and she does a really good job. I had my hair cut by Amanda (the owner) once when Nichole wasn’t available and she did an awesome job as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone! Also, check out their new Blowout Bar next door. Haven’t been there yet but plan on it in the near future!

Fabulous salon! The stylist was able and willing to fit my cut in last minute and I am thrilled with her work, professional, fun, funky and relaxed. I am in St. Louis on business and am going back later in the week for a color. Clean, unintimidating, friendly and most definately not your mother’s salon. Fabulous find!

Two thumbs up. This is where I get my brows waxed, and they do a pretty good job, regardless of which stylist I get. Nicole is my favorite.

I was visiting St. Louis from Oregon for a wedding and I forget the two most important items needed to get ready… My curling iron and hairspray! I Unilocaled near by salons and found this one to have good reviews. I called on a Thursday and was able to get an appointment the next day. I simply wanted nice full bodied natural looking curls. Caitlin was awesome. Not only did she nail the look I was going for, it held all night. For the price it cost for me to get this done was cheaper than buying a nice new iron, and the best part, I didn’t have to do it myself!
I was staying less than a mile away and walked to the salon but didn’t want to walk back in the humidity and wind with freshly curled hair so they called me a cab. Well the cab companies wouldn’t give an estimated time and most said «we are really busy». I decided waiting 45 min for a ride was ridiculous when I could walk back to the hotel in 12. When I was heading out, the owner offered to drive me back. Talk about full service! Thanks studio 16 for going above and beyond to help me out!

I’ve been on the search for a quality hair salon for awhile now. After checking out the Unilocal reviews (naturally), I decided to give Studio 16 a go. They didn’t disappoint! My stylist (I’ve since forgotten her name — wah) was attentive and listened to what I wanted, and what I wanted was for her input on what would look best on me without being too drastic of a cut.
She delivered! I loved my cut and got several compliments afterward.
Will definitely be a regular — once I call to find out that stylist’s name. :)

I went to Studio 16 after I got a terrible haircut from Great Cuts downtown. Nicole was my stylist and she did a great job! I have really thin hair, which is a hard hair type to find a good cut for. I went shorter with some long layers. Looks great and just in time for a wedding I have to go to next weekend! Thanks Nicole!

I’m new to St. Louis, in from Los Angeles — roots are gray (yikes), I couldn’t go on another week, so I looked up local downtown salons and called a few places. Studio 16 was courteous and accommodating on the phone, so I nervously booked a cut and color, hoping that I would have no regrets.
I couldn’t have had a better experience. Nichole M. performed my cut and color. She was as sweet as can be and really cared about if I was getting what I wanted.
Their whole vibe in the salon was fantastic.
I was a few minutes late because Unilocal’s map tells you to go off of Washington at 16^th towards Lucas. Don’t follow their map for this place. it’s ON Washington at 16^th.

I get my hair cut here — it’s pretty cheap for a guys cut and the service is phenomenal. The woman who cuts my hair is also fine, funny, and has a bit of swag about her.

Went last night for some quick highlights before a trip. Amanda got me right in, got to work and they turned out great. I think I have found my new salon.
Work is great, prices are great, and the staff is very welcoming.

Strange that no one has reviewed this place on here. their facebook presence seems pretty alive. 453 ‘Likes’…
Anyway, of course as usual… I waited until the last minute and was having a roots situation/​emergency. Also my bangs were dropping into my eyes in a ridiculously annoying way. I had previously purchased a Living Social incentive for St. Louis Salon and Spa, but I was further down on the food chain for that and they were booked. I had remembered wandering down Washington, though and seeing some guy with some interesting hair, cutting someone else’s hair in the bright morning sunlight, through the store glass. I remembered that and just looked online and made the call. Worked out a time, told the person my worries… — new in town… not sure what my last stylist was doing specifically (as far as vision (all stylists have a vision for you))…first time I’d had full highlights. didn’t know what the next steps were supposed to be… basically downloaded all of my anxieties on this person and he was able to work me in.
On my initial appointment we had a four hour color/​cut session, which I had expected and planned on. Everyone in the salon had fantastic color. Really sophisticated and professional. It was like hair that you would see in a hair style magazine. I had confidence in my stylist. It was a full on Redken Salon and their colorbook was one of the best I’d experienced. My stylist had the cool LA rock look going on. It was fun.
Final Output: I love my look, sophisticated color and layers. Took my boyfriend their for a cut. We are both going to go back in december for some serious color intensification.
