History

Established in 2006.

Fat Cat Art Studio LLC was started out of a desire to provide creative services for business as an independent artist. Her passions include typography, photography and documenting family memories with traditional and digital media. Owner, Lisa Marek has a background in Fine Arts and has established herself in the print and design industry with over 20 years experience in the workplace. This year marks 5 years as a small business owner and Fat Cat is proud to be growing each year with a steady stream of clients. Over the years, Fat Cat has serviced clients in the legal, greenhouse, technical, financial, to snack food industries. She has worked for Target, Linder’s Greenhouses, Wagner’s Greenhouses, Allina Hospitals and Clinics, 3M, Waymouth Farms, Inc, makers of the Good Sense Snack Mixes, among many. Business Owner

I love design, typography and all things beautiful — especially in nature. My earliest memories of designing were as a kid, sitting on my grandparents porch redesigning the Sears Catalog. My lifelong dreams include managing a magazine as creative director and shooting photography for National Geographic. I have worked in the field of graphic design for about 20 years now, having self-​taught myself for the most part. I have worked in Minnesota after graduating from Augsburg college (1991) with degrees in German, Art Studio and Music Performance. I started out in a print shop and spent part of my career working beside pressman designing 1 – 4 color work watching us go from negs and plates to all digital. I then graduated to an ad agency, working for bigger clients and then into corporate America, where I worked on a creative team for many years enforcing and creating brand standards along with print, web and advertising.
