Great service, great prices, very fast. I highly recommend them. Perfect for people whom live on st Pete beach. Ashley was very nice. My brand new car needed an oil change, it cost $ 35.00.

Took my 2006 dodge magnum in for what I believed was a bad ball joint. Upon arriving I explained my concern and my diagnostic but since I’m not a mechanic I wasn’t 100%. Within a few hours I was contacted with the «good news» it wasn’t a bad ball joint, my brake rotors were warped and I was saving money. «Great» I thought and was overly excited. Well I sit here today on the side of the road waiting on a tow truck because my ball joint has snapped.
So my conclusion of Charlie’s transmission. They don’t listen to their customers, they are not thorough in their diagnostic and while you might leave happy it will cost you so much more money in the long run

I’ve been taking my cars here for 30 years and they are honest and fair. They won’t lie, sell you something you don’t need or gouge you on the price. I have always been happy with their service, staff and repair work. They do all kinds of service and repairs and have never let me down. They rebuilt the transmission on my classic Alfa Romeo as well as work on my daily driver. I just took my boyfriend’s car there last week when his starter was acting up and they did not disappoint. Always good service!

Charlie’s Transmission was recommended by Big John’s Auto Repair (John Clark) in St Pete. John was right on with the recommendation. Although I only came for maintenance, the price was quite competitive and the service excellent. The reason for the one less star than perfect is that the reception was less than inviting. I didn’t feel like they wanted the business. I looked past it and, in the end, feel like I received good service for a fair price

It seems so rare to actually find an honest mechanic these days. These guys are!
Always very reasonable with the pricing, and never looking to «double dip» with added fees and surprise charges.
We had our car there for an oil change and asked them to look at a faulty door bracket as well. They fixed it at no added charge since it was a quick fix. That would have been the perfect opportunity to at least charge us 15 bucks. That little courtesy says so much.
This is the only place we bring our car. You would not expect a mechanic on the beach to be so reasonably priced — yet they are! I work right across the street at 100 Corey, so what was at first purely just a convenience thing has become a real loyalty thing now…
P. S. They do all phases of repair work here. Not just A/​C & Tranny work. My sister in law had a CV joint replaced here last week.
