Inn On the Beach

We trusted the online reviews as we had never been to Pass-​a-​grille and I am so glad we did! This place is amazing — nicely decorated, newly remodeled, clean, private and very close to the beach! Sometimes it is difficult to vacation if the rental is not as nice as home but this (while different) is comparable in décor and cleanliness.
The inn keepers are friendly and very helpful! We were provided coffee, beach chairs, an umbrella, a beach cart and beach towels. Since we flew down this was extremely convenient.
Breakfast on the weekends is an added bonus. Pastries, fresh fruit, juice and coffee.
The location can’t be beat. We walked with our toddler to the restaurants six streets over. Enjoyed dinner and a sunset walk back to our cottage.
As an overly picky person (just ask my husband) I would highly recommend renting at Inn on the Beach! We stayed in the cottage and loved it!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in November, we stayed in the blue heron. We got married right across the street !!! Beautiful room, Sheila and Dee were very nice and accommodating. We will be back for our anniversary

I loved this place. I expected a run down motel. Not so! We had one bedroom with kitchenette. Very cute, Nicely done, and walking distance from beach (right across the street). They have their own parking. They have thought about everything, from bug repellant (mosquitos), beach towels, chairs, umbrellas. It’s not like a Marriott but if you are into charm and great customer service you will find it here. Small but well done!

We just stayed at The Inn on the Beach. There is so much to like about staying here. First of all the beach is about a 30 second walk from your room. its just not any beach either. It is very laid back and mostly used by locals. Plenty of room and during the week basically empty. The Inn Itself has very unique old Florida style rooms. It is however very comfortable with modern air conditioning (in August you need it!!) flat screen Tv with Cable, nice bathroom and extremely comfortable bed. It has a kitchenette with frig so you can keep food there. There is a big gas grill on the property so you can cook there if you
is very close to some laid back Florida restaurants within walking distance that all have great fresh fish. If you are looking for someplace quiet, out of the way in an area that is very quiet and in its own world away from the real tourist spots on St Pete beach then check out the Inn on the Beach. Reasonable price, good innkeeper then check out The Inn On The Beach. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I find it very difficult to give anything five stars unless it was truly extraordinary. 4 stars means highly recommended

We stayed at Inn on the Beach to enjoy a kid free weekend away from the hustle and bustle. We stayed in the Plumeria Room which was very nicely appointed. The room seemed to be newly remodeled, decorated tastefully, and had a fabulous bathroom with huge corner shower. Organic toiletries were a nice touch. The kitchenette had a small stove, microwave, small fridge, coffee maker (bring your coffee, if you plan on making coffee in the room), and all utensils, serving dishes, and cooking supplies are well stocked. The innkeeper, Sheila is fantastic, helpful, etc. The room was very clean upon arrival. My only complaint was that the bed could’ve been more comfortable, but it wasn’t horrible. We both decided it’s a great spot for us to getaway and will probably be back to this little gem.

Die Insel St. Pete Beach an der Golfküste von Florida ist ein beliebtes Urlaubsziel. Der nördliche Teil der Insel ist crowdy, trubelig, große Hotels, Geschäfte, Vergnügen und vieles mehr. Wer es denn mag …
Der südliche Teil entführt in die genau gegenteilige Welt. Der Ortsteil heißt «Pass-​A-​Grille» und nennt sich: Florida’s best kept secret. Hier liegt direkt am Strand das Inn on the Beach, ein Apartment-​Hotel mit 12 Apartments und drei Cottages. Die Gebäude selber haben schon einige Jahre hinter sich und an einigen Stellen angenehme Patina. Die Unterkünfte selber sind state of the art. Topp eingeríchtet inkl. Küche, mit viel Liebe und Geschmack ist jedes Detail aufeinander abgestimmt. Die Apartments/​Cottages haben keine Nummern sondern Namen nach Pflanzen und Vögeln der Region: Blue Heron, White Ibis, Spoonbill, Sandpiper, Pelikan, Egret, Periwinkle, Jasmine, Hibiscus, Orchid, Sunflower, Plumeria. Und die drei Cottages: The Cottage, The Love Shack und Shangri-​La.
Sie alle unterscheiden sich in der Inneneinrichtung (keines gleicht dem anderen), in der Größe und in der Lage. Verteilt auf Erdgeschoss und erste Etage. Die Cottages liegen hinter dem Inn. Ein großer Unterschied ist die Sicht, von großartig bis eingeschränkt. Blue Heron und White Ibis sind diesbezüglich die Knaller. Wir selber wohnten im kleineren Blue Heron, hatten aber die größte Veranda, geradezu verschwenderisch für zwei Personen. Daneben liegt das White Ibis, ein sehr großes Apartment mit ähnlich guter Sicht, aber deutlich kleinerem Balkon.
Von hier aus das Leben zu genießen ist fast unschlagbar. Vor allem zum Sonnenuntergang, wenn direkt vor einem die Sonne im Meer untertaucht und den Himmel in einer Orgie an Farben im Minutentakt verändert. Dabei ein kühler Weißwein oder temperierter Roter oder long drink, mit Blick durch die Palmen über den Strand bis zum Horizont: Paradiesischer Zustand.
Inn on the Beach bietet Strandstühle, Sonnenschirme, Strandtücher für den Strandbesuch. Morgens ab 7 h steht frisch gebrühter Kaffee bereit. Mit Kaffeebechern in der Hand (american way) spazierten wir damit vor dem Frühstück über den Strand. Am Wochenende wird ein Buffet-​Frühstück im Patio angeboten, eine gute Gelegenheit zum come-​together mit den anderen Gästen. Und wer möchte, kann jederzeit im Patio den Weber-​Grill benutzen.
Freies WiFi? Selbstverständlich!
Das Umfeld ist ruhig, weitläufig bebaut, keine hohen Gebäude, einige Restaurants sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. In wenigen Autominuten ist man im lebendigen Norden der Insel mit allen Vergnügungs– und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten.
Zum Schluss zitiere ich: We are located across from the soft, white sands and beautiful, turquoise blue waters … Inn on the Beach offers the same experiences of a Florida vacation rental, luxury beach hotel accommodation or beach resort without all the worry. With 360 days a year of sunshine it is the perfect location for your vacation getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at Inn On the Beach. Sheila and Dee were very accommodating. The White Ibis room was spacious, clean and updated. We could walk to restaurants, bars and shopping. The beach was across the street and we enjoyed amazing sunsets from the balcony. It was a great stay and we will be back!

My husband & I had just closed on our new condo & needed a place for just one night. The Inn is so cute with each room named for a flower. Puts you in a great mood right away & with the gulf’s great beach literally steps away the inn is perfect.
Most importantly it is clean, crisp, even has a kitchenette!

We stayed in the «Spoonbill» room. REALLY nice room with a great kitchen area — small fridge, sink, and coffee maker. We had plenty of room in the main area but the bathroom was itty bitty! Doable though (think European). We had friends over for cocktails and there was room to sit and chat in the little side alcove once we opened the doors and included the patio as part of the room.
The inn keeper is Sheila (I think that’s right) but in any case she was really nice and very accommodating. Folks in this little get away (mostly locals spot) are very friendly if you don’t act a fool (i.e., tourist). Most places on the peninsula are in walking distance but if it’s super hot or really late driving is not difficult — parking can be. When we were there there were bikes for use by guests though we did not use them. There were also some beach chairs etc. for those who came to the beach unprepared (?!)
I’ve never stayed anywhere else in Pass-​A-​Grille and have recommended this place to many friends who have also fallen in love.
4 stars for the queen bed — there is room for a king and my husband & I (used to a king) spent the first night getting used to it!

We stayed in the Egret room which was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable, the view from our balcony was great for watching sunsets, and there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance.

Even with all of the information available online, it is still a bit risky to select a place to stay without some kind of recommendations from friends. This time, however, it worked out great. We really like this place. It is so close to the beach (amazing sunsets!) and is a short walk from good restaurants. For me, as a vegan, having the Vida de Café 6 short blocks away has been outstanding. My wife (not a vegan) has also really enjoyed the more standard restaurants. Our cottage (Shangri-​La) is clean, well-​equipped and has covered parking right next to the door. The only complaint is that there is another unit upstairs and the people in it must think they are elephants. This has not cost us any sleep though. Yesterday we drove north to see what the rest of St Pete Beach looks like and we sure picked the right end. Pass-​a-​Grille is exceptionally nice and once one sees the tacky tourist land that is the rest of St Pete Beach, there is no reason to leave the immediate locale. We also agree with the other reviews that the people who work here are very nice and helpful. We enthusiastically recommend the Inn On The Beach.

My wife and I have stayed at the Inn On the Beach a number of times over the last few years. The rooms are always clean and comfortable and often in between one of our annualish stays, a room or two has been completely remodeled and modernized.
The beach could not be any closer and it’s a short and pleasant jaunt down to the restaurants on Pass-​a– Grille. There have a been a few stays where I’ve realized that I haven’t ventured more than a couple blocks after a week.
All and all, it’s a great little inn with lots of charm.

This is our second stay at Inn on the Beach… and we’ll be back again. What more can I say? My partner and I considered Key West, Ft. Lauderdale, and Savannah yet we came to Pass-​A-​Grille, to stay HERE!
I like bullet points, so let me break it down:
— You will not sleep closer to the gorgeous white sands of St. Pete Beach than you will at this place.
— A mere eight block (or so) walk will land you at The Wharf – strong, cheap drinks, decent seafood with a saucy crowd and a truly retro jukebox (but that’s a whole other review).
— Pass-​A-​Grille is a rare place, and you will not find nicer accomodations, more attentive service at a better value than you will here.

Stayed here with my husband and two kids ages 1 and 8. We had the Egret room. It is a small hotel right on gulf and across the street from the beach which is very convenient. The room was a decent size, very clean and nicely decorated. It has a small kitchen with just about everything you would need; plates, silverware, pots and pans, mugs, coffeemaker, toaster etc. They have towels, beach chairs and some beach toys available for your use at no charge too. The area is very quiet with not too much going on. I wish there was more to do or at least a Starbucks (though I highly recommend the Paradise Sweets for breakfast) but that’s just me. Overall, had a nice time while staying here. My only complaint would be that the bathroom was very hot since there is no ac vent in it but we just kept the door open and it helped. The innkeeper Sheila was very helpful with anything we needed.
