Plaza Beach Hotel Beachfront Resort

Was having a hard time finding a decent but affordable place to stay until I called Plaza Beach! Very friendly staff and the rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. We got a room with private balcony with ocean view. Enjoyed it so much we decided to stay a second night. Will definitely be staying here again.

This is a quaint old Florida style boutique hotel. It has been tastefully redone and is clean. Comfortable beds, adequate kitchenette. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We love places like this for shorter trips.

Stayed a couple days here to enjoy the beach with family. This is not a «escape to stay in a hotel» place. It is perfect for sleeping, and showering. Right on the beach, this place has little fun things for the kids. They have a giant chest set, which my kids loved, a shuffleboard, and a very «mini» mini golf area. On the beach they have chairs to lounge on and hammocks to relax in. There is also a sand volleyball court, bar, and pool. We preferred the beach! The rooms weren’t super clean, but being off the beach it’s hard to expect sand free rooms and showers. The rooms are in need of a little up keep, but they have a kitchenette, full fridge/​freezer, stove top, and dishes to use.
All in all this was a perfect place for our family get-​away to the beach! Thanks for the awesome memories made!

What a little gem. This cozy little place has all you need! It is very clean, on the beach, and a great staff. They have a tiki bar with cheap beer prices. The rooms have a fridge and stove. You can walk to many of the great restaurants. They keep up the place and is always clean. It was a pleasure to be there and did not want to leave. Enjoy.

While my father was in the hospital recently my brother and I needed a hotel. We found the plaza beach online and booked for a week.
The rooms were large, comfortable and very clean. I loved everything about them. The proximity to the beach was perfect. The beach itself was one of the best I’ve seen in the Gulf.
The front desk was amazingly courteous and accommodating. We had to cut our stay and then come back to them to extend our stay longer. They made every effort to get us back in even though they were booked up.
Out of kindness for our situation with my dad, they even gave us some gift cards for local venues.
This was in no way a vacation for me but I have already begun making plans to come back and would not want to stay anywhere else on the beach with my family.
Thank you Plaza Beach for making a difficult time much easier to endure.

Stayed here again this year. We love this place. Very friendly staff and got to mingle with new guests (new to us anyway). We saw plans for the new and improved place, and it will be even more nice if approved. This year, my mom, step-​dad, aunt, and cousin came with us, and were completely floored by the scenery and cleanliness of the place. We all got to relax and enjoy our vacation and looking forward to next year. Thanks again for a wonderful, restful stay! See ya next year!!! Whoop whoop!

Second time staying here and we absolutely love the atmosphere and culture! People from all over Europe stay here 1 – 2 as regulars, they’ve been coming for as long as 20 or more years! Family run and family friendly! Don’t miss the 4pm happy hour! Place is clean and great price for the area! Did I mention right on the beach?! How can you go wrong there! Make sure to get your picture with shamoo!

We really enjoyed our stay, but c’mon you cant take away your hotel «features» (shuffleboard, chess, miniature golf etc.) at 9pm. I did not think this was a retirement home :)
Also, dont advertise that you all have a fishing pier… thats the saddest excuse for a pier i have seen.
Overall i would still stay here again, these are for your suggestion box.

My wife and I stayed here recently while on our first baby-​less vacation in 2+ years. We chose the hotel based on the reviews and we were not disappointed.
Location:
The location couldn’t be better. You’re literally within minutes of all of the best on St. Pete Beach. There is a Walgreens (pharmacy) and a Publix (grocery store) literally across the street. There are numerous restaurants and bars within walking distance (depending on how hot & muggy it is). It was the beginning of August when my wife and I were here, so we drove everywhere — but there is a lot within walking distance.
Cleanliness:
Other than a minor musty smell that goes with any beach property in Florida during the summer, the room was clean and extremely comfortable. So comfortable in fact that my wife and I could not help but take 2 — 3 hour naps each day.
Noise Level:
We stayed here from Wednesday through Sunday. On the first 2 nights (Wed & Thur), it almost seemed as though there was no one else in the place — even though it was packed. It was extremely quiet. The only problem we had on the final 2 nights was the noise coming from the upstairs bedroom (running kid) and people playing dominoes on the picnic tables outside at midnight. But with the a/​c on, we could barely hear the people playing dominoes — so I cranked up the air and blissfully went to sleep. If you get an upstairs bedroom, I could see there being NO noise problems at all.
Staff:
All of the staff that we encountered were wonderful; they were all nice, friendly and very accommodating. You would think that would be a given in the service industry, but as I’m sure all of you are aware, it isn’t. The staff was very pleasant.
Price:
We were looking to make it a special trip and stay at the swanky place on the beach, but decided to spend the money on food and drinks instead, and we’re glad we did. This place was half the price of the more swanky place down the street, but for what it was, we made the right choice. We may have stayed at the other place for an anniversary or other special occasion, but the Plaza was great for this vacation.
Overall:
As you can tell from the other sections, I’m a huge fan of the Plaza Beach Hotel — Beachfront Resort. If you’re looking to save a little money but have a great trip, I would recommend this little gem. The pool is refreshing, the beach is just steps away and there is a tiki bar just past the pool on your way to the beach (or on your way to the pool from the beach). The staff at the tiki bar — although not Plaza Beach employees — are as equally as nice and friendly as the staff at the hotel. There are plenty of activities at the Plaza Beach Hotel, from shuffleboard to bean bag toss to grills where you can barbecue. All in all, I highly recommend this place!

I’ve visit this hotel twice and I love it. Clean and very friendly staff. Steps from the beach clean pool and u can use the amenities from their 3 hotels. Will be visiting again soon.

This is a family business at its best! They are actually three boutique hotels. Two of them are across the street from the ocean, and the third is actually on the beach. We needed some special consideration for walking distances, and on the 4^th of July weekend, at full capacity, Brenna, in the office was exceptionally helpful.
The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the kitchenette is stocked with the basic appliance necessities, and the pictures on their website accurately portray the hotel.

We booked a unit on the same day and arrived to find ourselves on the highway. I almost asked to move but was too tired. Kept the room and didn’t notice the car noise. The room could have slept 6 people easily, two beds a pull out sofa, a table and efficiency kitchen. Awesome. Jackie took good care of us and we stayed at the sister property across the street and loved it even more. Thanks Plaza beach hotel.

This is my favorite place to stay on St. Pete Beach (SPB). The pool isn’t big time, so let’s get that out of the way. But this is the real deal old school family run smallish Florida motel type «resort» experience right on St Pete Beach. Plenty of tiki huts, laundry facilities, shuffleboard, hammocks, games, toys, mini-​mini golf course etc packed into this place. Plus a library and happy hour room. Friendly staff. Homey. And kitchens with Publix and Walgreen’s across the street and full sized fridge /​freezers for your leftovers and ice. :) Even a shade spot little beach bar hut and Chik File A room food service. As well as other delivery places. Keep it local peeple.
There’s a dock across the street at their sister property on the I tercoadtal (and I believe they even loan fishing gear.), their rooms are well appointed for families with kitchen gear, utensils, strainer etc. so you can eat in, and the partial beach and full beach views are pretty bad ass.
It’s a fairly quiet section of Beach between the Don and public beach area and the more crowded Spring Break section up by Tradewinds to the north.
This is NOT a five star fancy hotel with big time frou frou décor and amenities. It’s a Florida family vacation getaway spot to relax and enjoy special time with your loved ones in spacious and comfy home style rooms. If you know how to embrace that kind of experience there is no greater romance. :)
The owner, Rob, is a super nice guy and involved in the community. There isn’t really room service but they have a delivery set up with Chik Fil A from across the street. No joke. It’s little things like this that, if you know how to enjoy them, will make you appreciate this St Pete gem. Just know it’s not going to perfect or ultra-​luxury. It’s going to be comfortable and will provide the perfect setting for you and yours to explore and enjoy the beach, kick back and relax, and be free from any kind of snobbery or attempts to keep up with the Joneses.
You can walk to EVERYTHING including Publix right across the street. So you have loads of options for restaurants or you can keep it simple and cook something (if you book one of their suites with kitchen area), or just order in.
Just enjoy and don’t sweat the small stuff! :) It’s St Pete Beach and the Gulf Coast of Florida. Relax.

Stayed here over spring break with my family. Quaint little 2 story resort right on the beach. Family oriented with plenty of space for everyone. Could always find a lounger at the pool and there were plenty of beach toys for the kids to enjoy. Rooms were clean and lovely. Staff was very knowledgable of the area and were eager to help with a smile on their face. Was nice to find a resort on the beach during spring break and not have to deal with drunken college antics! We will be returning.

Sweet little spot on the beach. Not a single thing to complain about. I go for the old school mom n pop beach hotels and this fits the bill. Oh and WTF is corn holing? I think I’m glad I missed that. Lol.

Great Location on the beach, VERY Friendly staff., Family owned. I’ve read several of the other reviews and have stayed at other mid-​priced beach hotels and it was on par with many I’ve been in.
Activities and anemities were nice and rooms were spacious but oddly laided out but it’s an older building. I personally thought it as a good value and only serious complaint was that the beds need to be updated as they were uncomfortable.

If you looking for ease of access to St. Pete Beach with the ocean next to the pool this is a good bet. The rooms are clean, adequate and well serviced. No cocktail lounge or food service so your not paying for those amenities. Free functional parking and internet. It is a motel on the beach. If you’re on St Pete Beach and want to stay in your room on Facebook or watch TV there are better options for a little more and some nearing the cost of an average mortgage payment for a couple days stay.

For the St Pete’s Beach area, this is in a good location, convenient to the grocery store, other shops, and the magnificent beach. Don’t count on any of the rooms having a «deluxe ocean view» and don’t count on cooking in the kitchen. This is not a resort, as they promote, but rather a motel one resorts to when they can’t afford nearby condos (in the same price range) or the Don Cesar. The room is not very well laid out, with a small lamp on one side of the bed, and rather cramped access to the closet and bathroom, and oodles of extra space with no seating or furniture in the main room. Parking is at a premium. Wifi a disaster– basically doesn’t work. Had to ask to find the recycling, and the garbage, and did not get much help from the front desk staff. If I were to return to the area, I definitely would shop around some more.

There’s a lot not to like about this place, and not a lot to like.
First of all, there’s a lot of misdirection with how they market this place. It’s not a resort at all, but a hotel on the beach. The ‘free’ wifi is free as long as you don’t mind a weak signal and 1mps access. If you want the 5mps access you pay extra. Want an extra room key? More money. Want a guest? More money. As I write this the lights just went out in our room and the fan went on. I can’t imagine why that happened.
The room is clean and the place is quiet, therefore the 2 stars, but the king room is no suite. There’s a bed, a television with low definition channels, a table with three chairs and a single leather chair to act as a living room.
The pool is not heated, there are no cabanas that you would want to sit in, and the chairs they do have are as far from the surf as possible.
Now here’s the best part. They heavily advertise a tiki bar, but the resort doesn’t own the bar, they just rent space to someone else, and they don’t know when the bar will be open. They close for heavy rain but, it hasn’t rained today and they still aren’t open. The word that I got after asking at the front desk, and after the woman there had to call the person running the bar, maybe it’ll be open at noon. It doesn’t look like a great bar anyway. The suggestion that I got from the desk was that there are a lot of tiki bars around, and that I should go to one of them.
That’s a great suggestion, there’s a lot of other resorts around here. Stay in one of them.

We had just come from a bad case of hotel hell when we got our reservation at Plaza Beach. It was a wonderful stay and we may return should we go back to St. Pete Beach.
The room was clean and odor free, the pool felt great, the activities were fantastic. I appreciated the list of restaurants handed to me at check-​in. It helped locate some good eats.
I didn’t get to partake in the beer and wine social hour but that alone would be reason to come back! I wish it were extended hours.
One problem I did encounter were the shampoo/​conditioner dispensers in the shower. While extremely useful, unfortunately they were perfectly positioned to where my elbow easily knocked the shampoo container down and into the tub. It was refilled when room service came, only to have my brother do the exact same thing when he showered!
The towels were a little dingy and didn’t look as clean as I would have expected. Invest in Clorox with bleach!
I wished the dolphin statue water fountain at the pool was working. Oh well.
The staff was incredibly friendly and very accommodating.
