Barton & Williams School of Dance

My family came to this studio after we were recommended here by a friend and we could not be more pleased! The recital is put on like a full on PRODUCTION and the kids are trained in a very caring and professional environment. My kids don’t compete but the competition numbers we have seen are absolutely breathtaking. It is definitely one of the highest quality and creative studios in the area. The parking lot can be a bit crowded between classes but it’s well worth it when you see how beautiful their shows are. I’m so happy we have become a part of the Barton & Williams dance family.

The studio itself is very small and run down looking. It is obvious they do not invest any money back into it. The problems with this studio go much deeper than esthetics however. There are a couple of teachers that truly care, but for the most part if your child isn’t on company they are pretty much invisible. The company kids get most of the attention in class, and are able to do and say whatever they please. So much class time is wasted while these students carry on personal conversations with the teacher. Both the teachers and administration look the other way at bad behavoir and mean girl stuff, which is rampant here. Administration is not very friendly, and is also very unprofessional. Ballet technique being taught is poor. Many of the teachers themselves were students here, so they just pass along that same bad technique that they were taught. They need to clean up their act here big time.

My girls have been dancing at Barton and Williams since they were 4 years old. We love it and wouldn’t ever think of dancing anywhere else. Me and my girls consider the staff and other dancers family, I couldn’t imagine my girls growing up without their dance family. They have created bonds with the teachers and girls that they will never forget.
