New Japanese in heart of downtown. Outstanding. Had a signature roll and two fish dishes. Will be back soon

Went here for restaurant week and food was amazing. Sushi rolls are great and the entrees are tasty. The only thing with this place is that its too dark. They need more light besides the sushi bar and the candles on the table. Oh and the drinks are great as well.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. Love the ambience. A very cool vibe. Sushi rolls were outstanding. My only complaint was there was a bit of a language barrier with the waitress. They brought us the wrong appetizer as a result but no worries because it was still quite tasty. Love the banquettes.

Not your traditional sushi restaurant. If your looking for a modern & trendy looking restaurant with a lounge atmosphere that serves good sushi this is the place. Sushi & Sashimi was fresh and there was a nice selection of cooked items. They even had«kumamoto oysters» from the west coast on the menu which were of good size & quality. The service was attentive and professional. Great place for a date or group of friends!

Great Lobster Nori appetizer, well made martini, nice atmosphere, not sure if they get entertainment or a nightlife vibe in here(visited on a Monday) but it has potential to launch as a great lounge or nightlife hot stop… I hope it does!

Ok so this was SUCH a pleasant experience! Such an amazing little find! Prices coming from a New Yorker are pretty good but not great — - they could stand to be a tad cheaper which is why I give a 4.5 star rather than 5! Atmosphere is amazing and so «New York» — The drinks are very good and made with care and he sushi — OHMYGOSH — - so incredibly fresh!!! The service was amazing! Greeted with a warm towel– we felt like VIPs! The staff seemed very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the drinks! If you live nearby and have not tried it– this could be your new GOTO spot!

I have been here three times already and absolutely love it! The first time was the second day they opened. I stopped by for happy hour and had the paradise roll(lobster shrimp tempura with tempura banana) Sounds absolutely weird but it is so good! I also had the gyozas and pineapple fried rice. Second time i ordered the fried rice again and the pineapple mojito. Their drinks are amazing! Third time was last night I ordered take out and got the fried rice again lol, hibachi chicken, and the ginger salad. I was waiting for the takeout so i spoke to the owner for a bit telling him my excitement for this establishment which was so close and now opened because i missed SBC so much. The owner Dan/Danny? was super friendly and i told him i love it there and i will def be a regular and im excited for the many things to come. While waiting for my food he offeered me a drink where i got the martini with the gummi bears… delicious This place is worth it and you will enjoy it… not many great japanese places around here.

Visiting Stamford with friend and my love one celebrating valentine eve night. It was freezing cold outside so we stop by at Kashi stamford! The warm welcoming staff and nice light décor is inviting us to this place! We had a great night at Kashi and its becoming our new favorite destination in Stamford. You guys should try!

Already a super fan — our stomachs were growling all through the movie and once we emerged from the theater we were distraught that they were closed from 3−5pm between services(Saturday). However, I tried the door and it opened! Hallelujah! While we couldn’t get a bite right away(the kitchen staff needs a break after all) the lovely host invited us to the bar for a hot sake to wait the short hour until dinner service. He was so patient with us and our request to look around and explained some of the lovely décor. So as we wait patiently at the bar to order from the delicious menu and sip our delightful sake, I implore my fellow Unilocalers to patiently wait for the food installment of my review. To be continued …

This place is truly fantastic. The food was spectacular, the atmosphere was great, the drinks were a unique flavor on cocktails. For drinks, we got a leechy martini and the pineapple mojito, both of which we fantastic. We got the white truffle tuna, the yellowtail jalapeño, and the shrimp tempura as apps, and every single one was really excellent. My favorite was the yellowtail jalapeño, as the fish just melted in your mouth. For an entrée, we split the sushi for 2, and every piece we got was good. There was a great variety, as I think there were about 10 different types out of the 20 that were served. We didn’t specify any tastes, so it was purely chefs choice. The roll we got was pepper tuna on the inside and spicy tuna on the outside, served with some sort of aioli, and it was pure perfection. Only thing that would keep me from going there every day would be the price. With 2 drinks apeice($ 40), we ended up with a bill of about $ 100. I should mention that for 2 people you would only want 2 apps at most unless you’re super hungry. I personally think it was worth every penny, but it’s not the kind of place I could go out to all the time.

My husband and I dropped in randomly on a Wednesday evening. We have been joking about this place for what seems like years as it was«always coming» but never seemed to arrive. Well, it did. And it was worth the wait. We sat at the bar and each ordered a delicious mixed drink(pineapple mojito and red sake sangria). We moved onto edamame, tuna tartar and pork gyoza for appetizers — all outstanding. We asked our friendly(and talented) bartender when Kashi opened & he informed us that the soft«friends & family» opening was on Saturday. I was shocked — I’m no foodie & my husband & I never plan on visiting the newest restaurants in town but when we do, there is often one big food or service miss. We submitted 3 sushi orders next: yellowtail jalapeño, spicy crunchy sea scallop and the angry dragon. Each was fantastic — not too much rice! — but the scallop roll stands out for me as it’s typically something that turns my stomach as it is never minced down enough. We ordered the blue crab fried rice last not because we needed it, but because we were curious. It, too, was outstanding. No misses on the food front. If I were to lodge one complaint, it would only be that a manager seemed to be lurking a bit uncomfortably. I suspect he was simply trying to ensure that the bartender was properly trained. We generally order-in sushi, but Kashi has made the list of dine-out spots. We will be back!

KASHI Japanese keeps getting better and better! The atmosphere was energetic, trendy and chic. The staff was very attentive and professional. The food was outstanding as always, and I enjoyed every minute. One of the head chefs Andy had put together a few special dishes which was outstanding. KASHi is absolutely amazing!
