To bring affordable Reptiles, Quality Reptiles and Feeders and Supplies to all the people that cant afford some of these Big Stores unquestionable over priced product. I was one of them, been into breeding, catching, and caring for Reptiles for over 35 years. I wanted to have a store that practices proper husbandry of all our animals without exploiting them for my sole profit. Most of all i never want to charge the public my customers or friends to come look at my collection, that’s JUST CRAZY. More than anything though is to spread my love for reptiles and tarantulas to everyone I meet, so I look forward to meeting you ALL.

I come here to get food for my beardie and have been for awhile now. The owner has always been great with me, really friendly and has given me great advice about my beardie and good places in the area to get my boy some nice greens! He has the best prices around. Also, from every time ive looked, the animals seemed alright and the tanks looks alright in my opinion as well. Granted, my boyfriend goes here more often to pick up the food, but I havent heard any complaints.

When I first went the smell in the place was hard to handle (mostly because of the humidity) but they have recently opened the place up and it’s a million times better. The staff is really knowledgable and helpful, and always very polite. It makes me sad to see all these negative reviews because I haven’t ever had a bad experience with the staff or the area, and I’m thankful to be able to get my dragon’s food so close to home.

This place treats the animals horribly and lies about how much they will buy baby reptiles for! Don’t buy from here if you want a healthy reptile. Also, this place is in a very bad area, so you might get your car broken into while you’re browsing their pitiful selection of half-dead overpriced reptiles.

This place was very interesting. Stop by to see the Raptor in front of the store in end up going in. They have a variety of different reptiles.
For a small fee, you can watch them feed the reptiles.
It’s an awesome experience for those that aren’t squeamish.

Christy, lance, Sara, Morgan. First off I’m been shopping here for years now. If your complaining about the smell of rat feces, maybe a reptile is not the pet for you in the first place. Get real people. Eric has the best prices in town because it’s all in house, if you feel like paying more drive down the street a little more. Oh and I think the iguana wondering around the store is more afraid of you then you are of it, in Lances case maybe not. And I don’t know about you but I have had leopards and bearded dragons on sand for many years now 10+ and have never had issues guess I’m not professional enough, Oh that’s right their natural habitat is astro turf. And Sara I think your just lost, Eric keeps all his animals in good health, I have purchased most of my reptiles through him and not once have had an issue. I’m sure even if I did Eric is a man of his word and would make things right.

You can smell dead animals in the parking lot. I have been around many pet stores in my life but this was the worst ever! My kids asked me what that horrible smeel was. I was hoping it was something else. It got worse when we went in the shop. We seriously could not hold our breath that long. I wish this family would get it together and clean thier act up, for the reptiles sake but most of all his kids sake. I don’t want to have to talk to social services since I work with them, it is my job to report unsafe situations!!!

I would not recommend buying a reptile here after doing some research on this place it is the same place I’m thinking of that was called Radical Reptiles on Knott and Katella where Reptile Island now is. I had gone there for years when they use to be down the street at Hobby City. However they eventually changed ownership from my understanding and the quality and up keep of the reptiles went way down hill. As other comment’s stated the place smelled horrible from poor upkeep of cages, condition of the animals were poor. Also stated the staff was rude back then. It sounds like unfortunately since they’ve mood their business practices haven’t changed. I would honestly recommend going to reptile Island for any reptile needs, much cleaner atmosphere, and friendlier staff.

Went in there to see what they had. Poor animals on the counter they had a lizard of some sort with a turtle poor thing getting his tail bit. Baby bearded dragons housed with 1 dead in the tank. Poor living conditions i should of took pictures if i didn’t have my infant daughter. place looks nothing like the pictures on the website. would never buy anything there. Stay away poor customer service no help what so ever

Horrible. These people were not taking care of these poor reptiles. I saw dry water bowls, dry, not damp as though they had just run out of water, but dry. Snakes had horrible retained shed, and so many lizards on sand! You NEVER put reptiles on sand! No matter how much of an expert you might think you are if you’re putting your lizards on sand then I see you as a horrible pet owner, let alone a business.
Do not buy here, do not support them. Their snakes were overweight and clearly not being taken care of. Most of the enclosures didn’t look like they had even been cleaned in quite awhile.
Most people who are coming in for their first pet wouldn’t know, but this is a bad place. It needs to be shut down. If you can’t take care of these poor guys then you don’t deserve them.

I’m writing this review in support of this local Reptile Shop. My husband and I keep a Ball Python at our office near this shop in Stanton. My husband is usually the one to go in there and purchase rats to feed our snake. However, we also have a Bearded Dragon that I was buying Roaches and Super Worms for from the Reptile shop down the street, Reptile Island. I purchased my Beardie from Reptile Island so I would just go in there to buy food for him on the way home from work. Unfortunately Reptile Island screwed up their customer service with me one day so I was left without a store to purchase bugs from! Then my husband mentioned going to Reptile Outlet for Roaches and Superworms instead and I’m like duh! Of course! So I went in there today to purchase Dubias and Superworms and I must say, the customer service was Top Notch, the bugs were all separated into convenient little containers to take home, and you really couldn’t beat their prices on Superworms, 15 for $ 1! The place was also cleaner than I have ever seen it! This is definitely my new go to shop for all my reptile needs.

Owner was helpful with all my questions and let me browse the store without interruption. Small parking lot, small store. Nice selection of snakes, geckos, big lizards, and tortoises. They had smaller things, too, but I didn’t pay attention to this since I wasn’t in the market for them.
To all the people who complained about the smell or the customer service. What? Reptile stores are going to smell. My turtle and my snake tanks at home smell and I clean those out once or twice a week. I’m glad the workers here weren’t on my back asking if I want to buy this or buy that; they just let me look at everything in peace. If you have a question or want to buy something, just fricking be an adult and ask.

Eric know what he’s talking about, his help knows what they’re talking about… Katy «Queen of the Reptiles» knows what she’s talking about… the reptile game or the herp world has nothing to do with attitude or how scary one looks, rather it has everything to do with passing on the correct knowledge to those who seek it. Eric isn’t in it to make tons of money (unlike Prehistoric who charges to look). He’s submersed himself in the herp world and is now passing it on the best way he knows how. Katy, his daughter, is now in his shoes and will do amazing.
In terms of Reptile Outlet as a business:
Yes is may smell. ITS A FUCKING REPTILE SHOP!!!
Yes he may have an attitude at times… Who doesn’t? Maybe you asked a stupid question
Yes he may look «scary», but that’s your opinion, What does that have to do with how many stars they get as a business. Maybe you stop being a pansy Sharon O.
Yes the enclosures need cleaning, so does your ass, but I’m gonna bet you’re not on top of that ’round the clock are you Miguel C.
Bottom line is that you won’t find prices anywhere better than here. The knowledge is unparalleled and the prices are awesome. Cages get cleaned daily, pets fed accordingly to specific diet needs, none of the animals or staff have ebola and the lack of sunshine doesn’t hurt a bit. Better than any other reptile shop around. If, you knew anything about the lineage of Orange County’s reptile trade you’d know that Eric is closely affiliated with the best of the best.

I’m giving this place a one star due to the following reasons
–Horrible smell inside and outside
–Cages need cleaning
–need better lighting
–better flow of how they group their animals.
They do have a good selection of snakes, none of the reptiles look over crowded or sick. This is more for someone looking to be in and out of the store. I have mixed emotions about this place due to the reasons mentioned above. This place has good potential if they fix these minor issues.
The owner of this place was nice and helped me answer question even though I did not buy anything.

Stopped by the shop today because I’ve been searching for a small pet lately and decided to see what reptiles they had here. The place was really small… not really a good selection of animals… honestly it was creepy and I just wanted to get out… the guys working there were scary looking and I felt uncomfortable :/

I’ve been coming to this place for a little over a year now, it’s great. They have the best prices that I have found in the area. The staff is great and they’re always fun to talk to even if it’s only for a minute or two.
One con about the place is that sometimes the service is really slow. I don’t know if its because they don’t have enough staff working at once or if they’re just taking their time getting things from the back. I remember once waiting for about 15 minutes in line to buy snake food. Even after the wait they still acknowledged that the wait was long and apologized, which was really nice of them.
Besides that one con, I would recommend this place to everyone and anyone looking to buy a reptile and feed for their reptiles!

I give it 3 stars and here’s why…
Pro’s: Really nice lady helped me out… assisted me with holding a larger snake. They had some cool snakes too.
Cons: Small, and the smell is quite pungent lol not a lot of circulation and air flow, so lots of flies too.
Overall, not bad. The lady was really helpful thats why I would go back :)
