I’m not from Pennsylvania, so frankly, I find the alcohol laws annoying, particularly when I’m from the South where we only recently got the law changed to buy alcohol from the store on Sunday. Consequently, I didn’t have high hopes for a state-owned store. But this store is quite nice! It’s bright, clean, well-arranged. And I was impressed by the wide variety of their wine selection. Prices seemed on par with what I pay for most of these bottles at my grocery store in Georgia. I was asked by several employees if I needed help or if they could recommend anything. In short, not bad, especially considering the monopoly.

The staff is always friendly here, which is a welcoming surprise for how business this particular Wine & Spirits store is during the school year(Penn State University is near by). They have what you would expect in the liquor/wine category plus a unique selection. This store is bigger than your average State store as it has a rather large wine selection. On the weekends they tend to offer a wine tasting on a few select wines.
