Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course

Love, love, love this beautiful golf course!!! I’m so lucky I live so close and had the privilege of playing this course shared by celebrities at times … Especially in the fall on an absolutely perfect weather day with good friends, (we had a large group of 16 golfers) blue skies, a blue lake and warm green grass.
Concierge club pick up service at my car was a really nice touch. The girl picked up all of our clubs and drove off with them to set them up by our carts. We only needed to take ourselves into the clubhouse, grab a bite and drink and check in. loved the service.
The course was in absolutely beautiful condition, it was the day after a solid rain storm. The call in lunch feature for the snack bar just before hole 9 was convenient, the digital displays in the cart were lifesavers at times and the drink cart throughout play was much appreciated.
We ate dinner at the clubhouse as a group after. Great service and food continued and I even got to shop the end of season great deals in the pro shop.

Upon hesitant return: 5-​Stars for this restaurant– and ALL because of Bobby, the Restaurant manager. He is such a gentleman, and if it weren’t for him, I would’ve never returned. I called yesterday to leave a message for the restaurant manager (Bobby), after our terrible service. He returned my call this morning and asked us to return so they could make it right. He was so patient and kind on the phone I couldn’t say no. Our service yesterday was horrible, but it just goes to show you that one person can make or break a business. We had lunch in the golf bar today– and they had a couple yummy gluten free options, and really great wine choices. The view and the beautiful breeze are also amazing. I’m so glad we went back. Edgewood just maybe needs to reevaluate the employee who «helped» us yesterday– because today, the service we received from everyone, including wait staff (Danny/​Danielle) and hostesses, was amazing. Thanks again Edgewood for a great lunch, and Bobby for turning around our day! We will be back for sure!

What a disappointment. After reading wonderful things about this place, I saved up to take my boyfriend here to golf for his birthday. We came all the way from Portland just to play this course.
After we tee off the 1^st hole, the music from the HUGE rave going on across the street starts up. The rave that nobody at Edgewood told me about when I booked our tee time. There’s no way they didn’t know about it in advance because the cart girl told us, when we FINALLY saw her for the first time on the 16^th hole, that it’s like that every Saturday. There is absolutely no excuse for not notifying their players in advance that there is NO WAY they’d be able to focus on their game with the loud techno music echoing through the course, the obnoxious MC swearing, using racial slurs & hollering during your backswing … not to mention the strays from the rave running through the course screaming.
But of course they didn’t notify their players prior to booking because they knew if they had, NOBODY would’ve booked that day. And at $ 240 a round and 250 players for the day, they’d lose out on at least $ 60,000 for the day not counting the hundreds of dollars, per person, spent on food and drinks. And of course money is more important to them than happy golfers. I understand that there is nothing they can do about the music but I do feel they have the responsibility to notify their players so we could make an educated decision before golfing there. The business practices of this establishment are extremely unethical and I will never ever return. I wonder if they informed the bride and groom of the wedding that was going on there about the rave… doubt it. I’m sure they were thrilled about it as well.
Today we played a beautiful, peaceful course in Squaw Valley and had 10,000x better experience for 60% less money. So the trip wasn’t a complete waste thanks to that.

Site of the Koenig Bachelor Party and 2014 Xanvitational. They also play a celebrity golf tournament here every year. This is my favorite public track in the Tahoe area. Finishing up right on Lake Tahoe, the 18^th green is one of the most picturesque golf holes you will ever find. With casinos and South Lake nearby, this is an ideal location for a golf bros trip.

As a golfer, the course itself is beautiful. As a wedding planner, my experience was quite the opposite! With clients up from LA for a few days we schedule many venue tours around the lake. With no call back from the day before, I called again the morning of to double check it would be ok to stop by around 1 p.m. The woman on the phone said that it was her lunch from 1 – 2 p.m. so no. I said, ok we will try for 12:30 — 12:45 so we are done in time (even though she should have been more accommodating to us!) Arriving around 12:45 we waited as the woman on the phone walked up, barely introducing herself to us, the bride, the groom, or any of the parents!!! After going through her books, she noted that the date was already booked (thanks for not asking us that before we showed up) but we were welcome to look around. After a brief tour of the reception and ceremony areas she took off to her lunch break without even saying goodbye to anyone else in the tour. Appalled at the lack of professionalism and respect, the Bride, Groom and parents wrote Edgewood off… I will be very wary to recommend this place for any future clients.

I regret wasting my money playing here.
For $ 150 a round I expect better course management than a 5 and ½ hour round of golf. There was a golf marshal on the course, but he was more interested in telling us where were allowed to park our carts than in speeding play. (For the record, I had parked my cart just off the path to allow other carts and groundskeepers to pass while we putted out on a par 3, and got a rebuke from the marshal). On two separate occasions, I saw the marshal drive past groups who were fishing balls out of ponds with ball retrievers, without a word to them about moving along and keeping pace.
The course itself had several low points. Most importantly, almost all the greens were completely covered in pine needles, with no effort by the staff to clean them up. There were literally dozens of groundskeeping personnel on the course with backpack blowers, but nobody was attempting to clear the the greens, which is the only place it really matters for golfers. The range balls were garbage, many of them badly worn, which you expect at a local muni track, but not for a premier golf club charging exorbitant fees. Lastly, the layout was dull and unimaginative.
As for positives, the bunker sand was in good condition, but that’s literally the only compliment I can pay to this course.
If you want better conditions, better practice facilities and a better course with similarly gorgeous views, I recommend Grizzly Ranch golf club, for about half the price. If you must play in Tahoe, both Northstar and the Resort at Squaw Creek are better deals.

Booked the North Room for our son’s wedding… Absolutely Fabulous! They got married on the lawn with a sailboat out on the water and soft waves lapping up on the sand. Then to the glass North Room for the reception with the most wonderful food and service. Every single detail was top notch. A great time for our 90+ friends and family. Very highly recommend for an event such as this. The views are breathtaking !

Beautiful Views… usually beautiful playing conditions. Never know who might be on range next to you. I have played here several times over the years. Make sure you take advantage of their forecaddies/​caddies. They can REALLY be helpful on the greens. Everything tends to break toward the lake and away from mountains but you can’t always be sure on the course exactly where you are. Since it’s only open part of year, you HAVE to visit during the summer.
Great service by Caddies… and they went out of their way to help me. I dropped my ring into a drainage catchall by the golf cart entrance. The top had obviously not been opened any time recently and several of the employees and kids helped me out in getting my ring back by actually going into the muck to find it. We all worked on draining out the water so it could be located. Service above and beyond and I compensated them but it still was very much appreciated!!!
Only thing I would grade them down on is service in bar/​outside patio. Tends to be very slow service and overpriced. But it IS a resort area; and the views usually make up for it. But if you are expecting a «quick» after round drink, be aware that will probably NOT happen.

This is a beautiful place to have a wedding. The food was good and the event servers were great. The coordinator was just okay — she was a little lacking on the communication part. I was a little disappointed when I waited in line for 10 minutes at the open bar and when I got up there I was told that the open bar closed 30 seconds ago: lame: If he wasn’t so darn slow — I swear they told the bartender to make drinks like a snail to keep cost down. So I just drank champagne all night!

The course was in excellent condition and busy. Despite being busy, the pace was just about right. The food was good and the customer service was top notch. This is a must play course for every golfer when in Tahoe.

Once in a lifetime kind of course. It was in great shape both fairways and greens and just a beautiful view no matter what hole you’re on. Service was great, and the food at the turn was good too. Practice area was awesome, and you’re hitting off grass. Pay attention to the altitude, the starter told me it’s about a 1 club difference. Ok, so here are my complaints. Yes, it’s a really nice course. Is it $ 220.00 nice? Not a chance. Also, we finished and asked about a replay fee. They told us 50% of what we paid. So, I paid 220 for the first go around, then you want to charge me 110 to go again? This is a joke. If you pay 220, and finish at like 4pm there should be no replay fee, or maybe you just charge for the carts. It was great to play once, but due to cost, I would probably never play it again. If I’m going to Tahoe to golf, I would go to Coyote Moon in Truckee. Less thatn half the cost, and it’s a nicer course. You just don’t have the lake views.

A beautiful course from what I saw, although I didn’t actually play it.
The reason I gave five stars, is that I just wanted to hit some balls on the range, and check out their immaculate practice putting greens. The guy in the club house was very chill, not like most world class courses. He was very accommodating, and didn’t treat me like a tool.
The only thing that I could give a negative comment on is the range balls. These balls have seen better days. Many are heavily worn, or even flat on some sides. I’m sure they must give their members better stuff.
Having said that, if you’re in Tahoe, and need a great public practice facility, this place is it!

What a delicious lunch we had at the Golf Course Bar. It was a beautiful day so we were able to eat out side. The view is awesome. The service was also top notch. Would recommend it to friends. We will return when we are in the area.

For the Restaurant:
I got a call from the manager after our poor review for a Thanksgiving dinner. He told me that the me that the restaurant manager and a waitress quit the next day and that they did not know there was no bartender at the bar. Wow! Who is running the shop?

Played this course several times over the summer and really enjoyed it. The views are amazing, the course is in very good shape, and the service was very good. The only two issues I had were 1) the price is exorbitant even for Lake Tahoe in the summer; I felt like the greens’ fee should come with a flat screen TV or something and 2) the service from the starter was… iffy. Both times I had any meaningful interaction with the starter (different guys), I was less than impressed. The first time, I was WAY early for the «tee time» I was given on the phone as a walk on. I understand how this works… they quote the first official available time and then try to accommodate you as a single… fine with me. But several deuces and treys went off after I checked in with the starter without him saying a word.
I finally saw a deuce practicing on the range and they looked like the type of guys I would match a single like me up with if I was the starter (as it works out, I was a starter a long time ago and tried to match up like players, not just fill holes). They were going off in twenty minutes, but that was still almost a full hour ahead of where I was on the tee sheet. As I was shooting the shit with them, the starter yells my name and says I am on the box… really? THAT’S the most warning you could give me? Whatever. I am playing golf. So I go over to introduce myself to the two players who the starter hooked me up with. A husband and wife in their sixties who CLEARLY didn’t want to be paired up with anyone, let alone someone who looks like they know what they are doing. The wife didn’t get out of the cart or even look at me when I introduced myself. So I took control of the situation, told the starter I would be going off with the guys in the following group, wished the husband and Mrs. No Manners a good round, and that was that. I would have expected a top-​notch starter to have been able to assess the situation better, so there’s the knock for that one.
The second time, the guy just plain had no idea what was going on. There weren’t any special requests or tee-​time juggling… he was just out of his depth as a starter.
So all that said, this is a fantastic facility with an extremely good golf course, great restaurant/​bar, and excellent service… except for the guys you have to deal with most.

Great course with spectacular views. I felt like I was treated extremely well from the starter to the maintenance staff. Course was well maintained with fast true greens and well manicured tee boxes. Honestly for $ 120 it was worth it as I’ve paid that much at some private courses in Kansas.
My round took 4:15 so not too long of a day, but still enough time to enjoy the scenery. I’m a 7 handicap and played from the blue tees. Shot a 78 net 71, so I probably could have played from the tips. Not a long course as the length mainly comes from the par 5s.

I don’t golf but when I do I start out at the 19^th hole at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
This little South Lake Tahoe Oasis is a best kept secret that locals would like to keep a secret. It reminds me of a trip to Napa infused with a Lake Tahoe getaway. Get away from the crowds, get off the beaten track and come enjoy a cocktail or share a bottle of wine on the deck over looking the perfectly manicured greens and scenic lake views.
If your into golf then blah blah blah read the other reviews mine is all about the romantic ambiance you are going to find. This is not a place for rowdy kids or spring breakers, it’s full of old men with tons of money and Viagra, Cougars in their prime, and a bartender named Chip that is reminiscent of Sam Malone from Cheers. Come see for yourself and enjoy!

I’ve seen the celebrity tournament on TV a couple of times and was looking forward to playing the course.
We got there about 8 AM on Labor Day Monday for our tee time. Kinda weird that the pro shop was closed. I guess someone slept in that morning?
Anyway, the course was great and the last three holes are beautiful along the lake. The greens in particular were fantastic.
I’m looking forward to playing here again.
