Tahoe Tails and Trails

Last minute booking but our dog looked fantastic. Kristin our groomer made him look so adorable and sweet again. Highly recommend. We also did dog boarding for a few hours complimentary and it was cool that we could watch our dog at any time via the app. The staff is awesome and will be our go to groomer during our monthly visits to Tahoe with our dog.

I booked this boarder for my wedding, which I was including my dog in. I saw on their website that dogs need to be dropped off by 4 pm, so since he was my ring bearer at 4, I called to see if that was an absolute and if I could drop him off later. She said that the staff really doesn’t leave until 5, and that it would be fine if he were dropped off by then. She told me the vaccinations I needed to have faxed to her, so after I went to the vet, I emailed her asking to let me know if they had not faxed that. I emailed her again two days before the wedding to confirm, and she said that not only had she not received the vaccination paperwork, my dog absolutely had to be in by 4. By the time I got her return email, the vet’s office was closed. We really had to scramble last minute to find something appropriate for our dog on our wedding night due to the lack of professionalism at this establishment.

I have used the grooming service, and Linda is fabulous! Mr. Buddy absolutely loves her!

Was planning on leaving my dog here why we were in Tahoe because they were close to our hotel. When I called I got their answering machine and left a message. Tried calling the next day & again got their answering machine. They never returned my call. I guess this is how they run their business.

I arrived, site unseen (lesson learned!). Kyla Long was rushed and rude, which was Red Flag #1 (because, how is she with the dogs if she’s this way with people?) I’m so used to walking into a kennel and having the staff greet my dog, but Kyla… she could care less what I’d brought in. Okay, but, lets not rush to judgement. As the paperwork began, I asked if first I could see the area (s) where my dog would be spending her time, and Kyla told me in very harsh manner that they «don’t do tours» and instead she showed me an iPad that sits in the lobby which feeds live action from the room. As the process went on, I became more and more uncomfortable with not seeing the facility, though. I have always been permitted tours to any facility that is in the business of boarding dogs so Red Flag #2 and at this point, I spoke up and told Kyla that I wasn’t comfortable not seeing it, She was visibly angry, and said «Fine, but you’re just going to upset the dogs». Right, dogs get upset when people come and say hi… ahem. She led me to a room, and opened the top half of a two part door, where about five or six little dogs were housed. What greeted me, aside from the cute little dogs, was a horrible stench. I don’t mean just a smell of pee. but it was indescribable. Kyla didn’t say a word, and I looked around and saw pee pads out everywhere. I would’ve thought Kyla would have been horrified too, but not only was she not phased, she stated that of course dogs are going to pee and poop, that’s what they do, so, they put out pads. WHAT? Not in the boarding world that I’ve been exposed to (four throughout Northern California) l. Dogs are walked in the morning, and evening, to do their «business». To think that those little dogs are forced to go in this room and stay in it all day… it’s animal cruely, not to mention a massive sanitation violation. I remembered reading that there were nice walks for the dogs at Tails and Trails, so I asked how long they were and the frequency, and Kyla pointed to the end of the driveway, and said the little dogs are out for a few minutes and go there and back. No wonder they did their thing inside, there was no time nor access to the outdoors except for this (which I question that they go out at all based on what I saw). I took my dog and if I could’ve run out of there, I would have. I was horrified, and remain so. Kyla screamed at me all the way out. She has no business working in a world with dogs, or human customers. NONE. Not just for the unpleasant experience, but for the animals. Please, please, if you consider taking your dog here, INSIST on a tour, There’s a reason that iPad sits in their main lobby. If you do, you too will run (I hope) not walk out of there and make sure you don’t touch a thing. I cannot imagine that anyone that wrote on this page has been in the room for small dogs, or there is NO way the reviews would be as good as they are. Shame on you, Tahoe Tails & Trails. Shame on you.

We left our 4 month old puppy for a day while we settled into our resort here in tahoe and I have to say, we couldn’t be happier. Everyone from the owner, to the customers are friendly and they took EXCELLENT care of our little puppy. We thought it was amazing that we could watch him interact on a live webcam as well and he looked REALLY HAPPY all day long. Amazing business

Best place in South Lake Tahoe to take your dog to get groomed! The staff is super knowledgeable and they really care about dogs. They are loving and I know my dog is in great hands. They do an incredible job and our dog always looks beautiful when he is done. I have no idea how they get the undercoat so soft, but I am very thankful and won’t go anywhere else! I love how he always gets a walk and he isn’t trapped in a cage all day. Good Job Tahoe Tails and Trails, I’m so glad you are in Tahoe!

Came up to Tahoe for the weekend and my fiancé and I found this puppy daycare. It was recommended to us by the hotel and the reviews we read were great. My puppy Miko was well taken care of and I loved that I could see him through live video anytime I wanted. Tails and Trails have a very friendly staff and you can tell they love dogs :) Good service and great prices! Thanks for taking excellent care of Miko

It was my first time going to Tahoe Tails and Trails and I was so happy leaving my Sweetie Pie there for the weekend. She came home comfortable, relaxed, and somehow smelling better than I left her :). thanks to Kyla and all of the staff for paying special attention to my girl and helping her build her confidence. We will definitely be back!

We have been using TT&T for a couple years now. We love this place – our dogs do, too! Kyla always manages to find room for our brat, Kona. I love the webcam functionality as well. It’s wonderful having a place in town that we can trust with our babies!

Best place to take care of your furry friend when you’re out ski all day. This place is clean and bright, you can even check webcam whenever you want to see your lovely one. Kyla is so friendly and nice, you can tell her whatever your pet needs and she is willing to help. Price is reasonable too with $ 25 day care. Definitely recommended this place.

We dropped off our English Bulldog today and they were SO nice and respectful. Everything was very professional and our dog seemed like she had a blast. It was very convenient because my wife and I wanted to go gamble a bit and grab a bite to eat. This place is awesome 5 star resort for the doggies!

Have been boarding my dog with Kyla for three years now! Awesome place and highly recommend! I travel every week and my dog always runs up to the door to get in when I drop him off!

TAils and Trails is fantastic. I have a 14 yr old lab mix that gets spoiled every time he goes! Kyla is so good with the dogs and it is very obvious when you walk in the door. It looks like the front of a barn and you will usually find her or one of her staff on the floor snuggling hounds. My guy has cancer and I knew this was the best place for him when I needed boarding. My mother had an accident and I had to rush out of town not knowing how long I would be gone. Kyla took Skyler and was so accommodating and understanding. The facility is spotless and has NEVER smelled like a kennel. It has a faux forest and stream where the little guys are and a great mural. My dog is everything to me and there is no where else I will board him. So thankful to have this place!

Kyla is great to work with and very professional /​responsive. She was very flexible with us and our schedule — which is not common in my experience and doggy day cares. We are very thankful for her services and compassion for dogs!

Tahoe Tails & Trails is our dog’s favorite doggie day care, but unfortunately he only gets to play there when we visit South Lake Tahoe. His wagging tail every drop-​off and pick-​up is the true testimony of his experience there (and has not been case at places near home). We were very impressed with their genuine interest and accurate read of our dog after just a day or two. They have several separate areas and seem to do a good job moving dogs around as their mood and temperament change throughout the day. The update on our dog’s stay everyday was appreciated and the streaming webcam was icing on the cake!

I love TTT. I brought my puppy there this summer and everyone was so kind and friendly. My dog came home exhausted every night. It was perfect!

We bring our energentic Boxer to TT&T multiple days a week. He absoultly loves it! He knows when we are approaching the building and is so excited in the car and once we park he runs right up to the door. He gets so much exercise, playtime and affection from from the staff. I couldn’t ask for a better place to take care of our boy! TT&T ROCKS!

When the dog wiggles loose from your arms just to run to the day camp counselor without even so much as glancing back… we know our beloved hairball is in the right place and taken care of.
On our way home, we dropped by to see how things were. We spoke with the lady and she was great. As we chatted, a customer came in to pick up her dog. Nothing like a customer raving about a business to potential customers. The timing couldn’t have been any better.
Scheduled day camp and the rest is history. If only we stopped by sooner. Our dog could have tagged along with us more often. He really enjoyed being at Tahoe Tails & Trails. Peace of mind that he’s in good hands while the humans have fun, too! I definitely recommend this place!
