Mark R, Stephen P, & Chera K from ½ price movers were AMAZING. The gentlemen were professional, efficient and hardworking. They called to let me know when they were on their way, and they came on time. They took great care of all my items. Setting up the move over the phone was also very convenient and the staff were friendly. Overall, service was great, I had a really bad experience the last time I hired movers, so It was a breath of fresh air to work with ½ price movers in staten island. Will definitely be using them for my next mood and I would highly recommend the company especially if you get the pleasure of working with Mark, Stephen, & Chera.

Ricky, Marty and Jamar from ½ price movers were very professional. They arrived on time and took excellent care of all of our furniture. From beginning to end this was a positive experience and I highly recommend their services.

I booked this company for my move this past April from the South Shore of SI to the North Shore. I must say that after reading some of the negative reviews, I was very nervous for moving day. I called to book the move about a week prior, and gave a full inventory of my items along with a deposit and was told I would get a call the day before with my moving time. They called us the day before and scheduled us for the earliest 8am slot, which is the time that we wanted. At around 7:50am 3 movers arrived at the apartment, ready to work. They were kind and friendly, as well as professional. I wish I remembered their names because they did an amazing job. I had a very small apartment with a lot of large furniture and about 50 boxes, and all of the items were placed on the truck in a little over an hour. We then drove and met them at the new apartment, where the items were unloaded and put back together in rooms of our choosing, again in a little over an hour. I was not only glad that they were so quick, but they were also very gentle. I witnessed them gently carrying the boxes I marked“very fragile” (things with dishes and glasses, etc.) I am very happy with my experience with ½ price movers, and would gladly use them again.

I was in need of a quick move, literally from one day to the next and these guys did the job! The crew showed up on time and were super nice from the start! They were professional, quick, knowledgeable, and efficient ! Made my move smooth and stress free! They definitely took the work load off my shoulders. The crew was John, Derrick, John C. and Louie, these guys were awesome and really worked well together! Look forward to working with them again for my next big move!

Very satisfied with the service the guys provided. They arrived on time and introduced themselves politely. We did a quick run through of the items we needed moved and they started wrapping and moving. Nothing was scratched or damaged and they helped reassemble the items in our new place. I would highly recommend them based on efficiency, courtesy and of course price!

I just used half price movers, to say that the service was good is an understatement. The mover got to my residence on time, wrapped all my furniture and took care of it like it was their own. The price was great and the service amazing. I highly recommend.

I was anxious about moving from my last apt in Staten Island cos I needed to move out asap. Lamar, Ryan and Eli were really sweet and professional. I felt that my stuff was in good hands. They helped me wrap everything and arranged boxes in a way that was organised and accessible.

Sorry but no. First of all I didn’t read all the hidden filtered reviews so please do that first before hiring. I hate giving 1 star reviews but this place deserves it. I guess it’s called half priced movers and indeed you get what you pay for. This service is good for a single bachelor who has little stuff.
When I ordered the service the lady told me 9am three guys will come and wrap all my furniture and move it. So at 1130 (late) 2 kids showed up. I asked if they can wrap my stuff they said «uh we don’t have that stuff». They were running up and down my stairs like they were in a race. They damaged and ripped
My $ 2000.00 dollar leather sofa. I’ve never saw someone moving so quickly like they just wanted the day to be over.
Scratched my stuff, scuffed my floors and walls. Bad bad bad bad bad service. The management seems to hire warm inexperienced bodies.
Oh and when it’s time to sign the contract please read what you sign. When they say «sign here. Here. Here. Initial here, here» you’re basically waving any liability and giving your self no chance to recoup any damages. Avoid like the plague and hire two laborers off the street and rent a uhaul van you’ll get better service. Oh god avoid.
Luckily they didn’t steal from me like all the filtered reviews claimed. ATleast not that I realiZed.

I was immediately contacted by the owner, Bill Cone, after I left my last review. He wanted to find out from me what happened and apologized about my experience. To make things right, he offered us $ 250 off of our next move and refunded us $ 300 from our last move. I was quite surprised at that but also grateful to see that our business was important to him. I don’t think I’ve ever been personally contacted by any other companies after a bad experience and this meant a lot. I think good customer service is important and ½ Price Movers are top notch in that area! Thank you.

Horrible experience with this moving company. The crew stole many items from my bins and boxes including a laptop and DVD player and much more. Management wanted no responsibility and provided no compensation. If you are on the market for professional movers do not use this company.

Moving in general is stressful so finding a moving company that is reliable is very important. My husband’s co-​worker used Half Price Movers before so we decided to use them as well. On the day of the move, 5 guys came (Ryan, Tyrell, Lamar, Eli, and Derrick) on time and moved all of our stuff out within 45 mins to an hour. That also included uninstalling our dining table and bed frames and headboard. They were all really professional and patient considering how much stuff we got (i swear i’m not a hoarder). Also, given the rainy and cold weather conditions, it wasn’t an ideal day to move either. Overall, I was very pleased with these guys who helped us moved to our new home! I would totally recommend them again!
Tip:
1) You pay a deposit first and then rest in cash on the day of move.
2) They do have Certificate of Insurance if your building needs it.

My husband and I recently moved from a 4^th floor walk up in Queens to a home in Connecticut. Since our apartment is such a steep pain, we knew we would have to shop around for a good movers quote. In the past, we didn’t have a great experience with hourly movers, who would naturally try to log as many hours as they could on the job. Not the case with these guys — they were fast, efficient, polite, and most importantly…, respectful of our things. Very cost effective move too. I think a lot of city folks people see Staten Island and move on, but they service all the boroughs. Ricky, Lamar, and Derrick — you guys made a painful process feel a little better!

This was our first time using a moving company and I would recommend ½ Price Movers to anyone! Our moving team was excellent! We had Derrick, Luis, Dylan, & Chera. They all worked very hard and were extremely efficient. Derrick & Luis were very patient when dealing with the disassembly & reassembly of two pain in the a$$ Ikea kids beds. All the guys had a good sense of humor and treated our furniture and belongings like it was their own.

We used them for a move to storage and left me with a house full of stuff bc they couldn’t fit it in their truck. Then when we moved from storage to our new house they couldn’t fit everything in their truck and tried to get more money to do a second trip. Also had an inflated amount on their bill than what I had in my emailed estimate, which I fortunately was able to show them. I get the impression that the owner doesnt make it easy for their staff to work with customers. Also They didn’t explain to me that I had to detail the material of every item and they refused to take a piece from one of my items because I didnt tell them it had glass. Thats what I call b.s. …however they got the job done with no damage to my house or furniture.

Just moved from New York to New Jersey and it could not have went smoother. Tom, evan and rob ran everything independently carrying many heavy items without a problem and even disassembling and reassembling some complicated pieces of furniture in my new home. This is the second time I’ve used ½ priced movers I was satisfied with the service and the price and I would still recommend them to anyone.

I moved from Staten Island to Manchester NJ during the summer. This company gave me a great price. Gabe and Lou Rice were my movers. They were both excellent! They were not only professional but very friendly. I highly recommend the company. Thank you ½ price movers and especially to Gabe and Lou for their hard work!

This is a great moving company & fair prices. They moved me on July 30,2014 within no more than 4 hours and they had to take apart a 4 door amour to move .
Very polite and hard workers.
Definitely would recommend them.
