Have been coming here for a long time and meaning to review but I always forget because Im too busy obsessing over my wonderful hair !
Love this place. Brittany does my hair and she is awesome. When I first started going here my hair looked like crap. It was really damaged from processing and extensions and using bad products. Now my hair is so soft and looks a thousand times better. Just got my hair done today and Brittany did an amazing job with my color– I got balayage. I also really love the products she suggests for me. They never try to push products on you but are really helpful if you need recommendations. My mom also gets her hair done by Liz and she really likes her. Everyone there is professional and legit :)

A good friend recommended this salon. I’m very wary of getting my hair cut. have tried different places throughout the years but never found «my go-​to spot.» However, I was in desperate need for a change & the reviews for Bamboo all seemed to be positive so I just decided to give it a shot. And I’m SO GLAD I did!
My appointment was made online which was very convenient… I like that you’re able to get an idea of how much the services are and you can select your stylist too! Having never been to Bamboo before, I just selected a time slot and went with Brittany.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted right away and offered a drink — multiple times, even though it was so busy. The guy who washed my hair was very personable, and I swear he massaged a headache right out of me. Brittany, my stylist, was so sweet. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, give suggestions and educate me on what was best for my hair — which I really appreciate given how clueless I am! My cut and styling turned out great. Brittany really did an amazing job. I’ve had bad experiences before, hence my wariness, but I will definitely be coming back to Bamboo Salon. Couldn’t be happier with my experience!
The only thing is that there aren’t many parking spaces… maybe 4 slots in front, right on Richmond Rd. But I had no problem parking on a side street. Other than that, don’t hesitate to make your appointment here!

My first visit here. My go to Melrose Place is closed on Sunday’s. I normally shlep to tottenville to chic blow out bar but I decided to try this place not far from my house. They were able to accommodate me for a 10am appointment with the wonderful Samantha. From the moment I stepped into the salon, I felt right at home. The ambience was relaxing. The first thing the stylist did was sit me in her chair and go over my style preference. Then her assistant asked me if I wanted to drink, getting me the coffee I ordered. They washed my hair and Samantha gave me one of the best blow outs I’ve ever had. I told her that my hair normally falls within 10 minutes of walking out of the salon and she took great care in making sure my hair was voluminous and sexy. I will definitely be back!

Looking forward to coming in. Heard so many good things about this salon. I have short hair but it was cut too short. I will come in for a cut as soon as it grows a little. I need someone who does really great short cuts. Please recommend someone

I am so beyond happy with my color with Louis, my hair came out better than the picture I showed him! The service is great and the staff is friendly.

Definitely the best on the island! Had a wonderful cut color and blow out here. Highly recommend and would and plan to go back!

I had a GREAT experience at Bamboo Salon! I’m naturally blond but had gone dark brunette for a change. I came to Bamboo to get back to my blond. I was afraid I was going to have to strip my hair, but Olga was amazing! I got the exact shade of blond that I wanted without stripping (and damaging) my hair. She was amazing! She also gave me a great cut as well and really listened to what I wanted. On top of that, the salon looks great and has a really nice atmosphere. Highly recommended! Thanks Olga!

Absolutely love this salon. Brittany is my go to for hair. She’s also done my makeup before and I absolutely loved it. I would recommend her to anyone that wants to look and feel great. They are a bit pricey but you will get what you’re looking for and no surprises. She’s an absolute sweetheart. Availability is tough as well but the salon will go above and beyond to help their clients. Very highly recommend this salon, but especially Brittany.

I worked with both Nancy for my hair and Brittany for makeup. From the moment my bridal party and I walked into the salon we were treated in a friendly professional manner. The salon has a boutique feel but not an overwhelming snooty feeling. The staff is so friendly and kind and they have a ton of amenities such as refreshments. The salon is clean and provides a phenomenal atmosphere. So to start, Nancy did my bridal up do with extensions, there aren’t enough nice things that I could say about her. I have thin hair and am more self conscious than others. She made me feel beautiful and not only that she made me look stunning. She was so kind and sweet, she took no time to understand my vision and bring it to life. She not only did my hair she did my maid of honor and mother in law as well. They all looked stunning. Next, Brittany did my makeup. Her skill was not unnoticed, She was not only a pleasure to work with she knew exactly how to make me look phenomenal. The look lasted through a wedding and well into the next morning. Then, easily washed off with soap and water. I can’t not rave enough about the salon and how beautiful they made me feel on my wedding day. I will be back for all of my formal events and haircuts. Thanks bamboo for everything!

I have been looking for a place since I moved to staten island and that was 8 years ago. I am so happy that I finally found this little gem. Lina is wonderful and talks you through all your options. She really listens to what you want and makes sure she provides that for you! Everyone is wonderful there and they all want to make sure you are comfortable. It’s a «City like» experience for a reasonable price… who could ask for more!

I’ve been coming to Bamboo for a few years and always leave satisfied. I’ve worked with both Olga and Nancy and they are both professional, timely and friendly.

I have been going to bamboo for 6+ years and have NEVER been disappointed. Everyone is very friendly and professional at this salon. As soon as you arrive, they ask you if you would like anything to drink (coffee, water, etc.)
Lina does my hair and my mother’s and we both love her. We could not go anywhere else. I used to get my hair glazed by Lina and would try different colors. The color and cut were amazing every time. People always ask me after I get a haircut where I go. I highly recommend this salon. The prices are very good too for the quality.

When I moved to Staten Island 4 years ago, I was having a hard time finding a good hair salon and someone who I can actually trust with my hair. I came across bamboo salon and absolutely loved it. The staff is so friendly and Lina is amazing. She is beyond friendly and always has a smile on her face! I highly recommend Bamboo to all who are looking for a laid back, friendly salon! :)

I recently started going to this salon and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve always went to the same person and had an extremely difficult time finding a new place to go. I decided to try bamboo and fell in love. Nancy is my stylist and she is amazing I recently cut all my hair off to donate it and was a little apprehensive because it’s been a very long time since I’ve had short hair, but I couldn’t be happier. This is one of the best hair styles I’ve had in a very long time. I get compliments from all my friends and family and I even get complimented from random people I don’t know. Amazing salon I would recommend this place to anybody!

Love getting my hair cut and blown out here. I’ve been a client for about 7 years. They have great stylists that know what they are doing! Very friendly and professional staff! Will be a client for years to come!

What an awful experience !!! For a 1^st time client I waited for 30 minutes for my stylist Denise, I expected a master stylist to know what cut would look good on me. She said I would not be disappointed, well I am very disappointed and unhappy with my cut, although the length of my hair was pretty much the way I asked her to keep it, the layers which she did are terrible, uneven and too short for my overall length of hair. I look like Elvira! That was not the look I was going for! Would not recommend this salon !!! Waste of time and money!

Went for makeup and hair styling for a wedding. I brought pictures of what I wanted my hair to look like and my hair came out even better than the pictures; not too done up like prom hair, more romantic with curls pulled back off my face. Lina did both my hair and makeup. My makeup was to die for. I got full face makeup and lashes, the makeup lasted the entire night! The lashes lasted an additional 3 days before I started plucking them off. Lina did an amazing job!!! And the prices were reasonable! Highly recommend! I was so happy with how everything came out. Will definitely be going back ASAP!

I love this place. And I love Lois. He’s been such a sweetheart & he always does my highlights the way I want. When they wash out a lil, they look even better. I recently made a mistake by going to an inferior salon (just a simple root touch up I thought, what’s the worst that could happen?) boy was I wrong! Walked out with patchy, damaged hair, orange roots. Lois was kind enough to take me the next day to fix my disaster even thou he was all booked for the day. The idiot who ruined my great highlights said «it’s Ur hair, they just turn orange»… Well guess what, Lois took orange out in 15 min. He’s great @ cuts too & awesome to talk to :) I won’t b lazy to drive from BK to SI ever again!

Well on my quest to find a good salon and stylist I stopped into Bamboo. The salon itself is beautiful and my stylist was friendly. When I say the word dark Caramel apparently to this guy it meant canary yellow, mismatched, zebra like highlights. Of course, while he’s doing my hair I’m thinking hmm it’s going to be subtle, caramel highlights, had this done before so I know what to expect. I also find it odd that the lighting in the salon is so dark.
When he was finished I thought it seemed a little lighter then usual, and chunkier but let me look at it in the daylight or at home. I walked out with close to a $ 200 bill, told it looked fabulous and beautiful, (I’m waiting for a stylist to admit when the color didn’t turn out as planned), and so on that note I left. I decided to look in the mirror in my car in daylight and that’s when disaster struck. The whole top layer of my hair, and this is over dark brown hair, was yellow, brassy, uneven, there was roots showing where the highlights were. I figured maybe it would look better in indoor lighting. Boy was I wrong.
To make a really long story short, I was embarrassed to be seen in public with my hair. I could have and should have went back and had him fix it, but I was soo annoyed that he say something looked good when it was a horror show really irked me. I ended up going to another salon and had them dye it over. I’ve had bad hair experiences, I think everyone has, but this took the cake.
