The place is very clean and they do a good job, your experience changes when you go and pay.
Whey never give you the same price for the same service and twice they did try to charge me more than I was suppose to pay.
My last visit there between me and my niece they charged me $ 20 more, pretending that they did a mistake adding the numbers.

I wish I could give less than one star. This place is incredibly unhygienic. They gave me a massive fungal infection on my index finger and they do not use gloves when waxing eyebrows. They dip the same stick into the old crusted wax pot, despite the mug full of dipping sticks on the same table.

so i came here today with hopes that the good reviews would be right & the bad reviews would be wrong, but unfortunately i got the miss instead of the hit that so many other reviews speak of. and gravely so, one of the worst misses i’ve ever experienced. i’ve included pictures of the ruins they left my poor nails in, that i’ve been growing & grooming for months to get the shape & condition i (had) them in. And within 10 minutes time & countless attempts & practical pleads with the nail technician to stop & please shape them pointy and not rounded (i even filed two or three nails myself to show her exactly what I meant, and still, nothing, kept filing round) — until the point where my nails were now down to or past the cuticle! & completely ruined/​unfixable. i even told her, after clearly seeing she either didn’t understand me or, unfortunately, English, or any of the countless pictures I showed her as examples (again, all on top of actually filing some myself to show her) i said ok, forget it now, too much damage has been done lets just round them out ridiculously short now, and THIS is what she left me with. i took one look at even her best attempt at a rounded fix, and stopped the gel manicure then & there. i couldn’t believe what she had done. and how quickly south a manicure & my nails could go. i’m still upset, my nails were so beautiful, & long, & strong, & amazingly shaped, and now i’m left with this… a nail job that looks like something my friend’s 5-​yr-​old daughter would do, possibly worse. if you have been maintaining & care about your nails at all, do not go here. they do not have the practiced or mastered skill of doing them. & to top it all off, after i ceased the gel manicure, and (very nicely) explained my complaint & why I wouldn’t be continuing, they charged me for the soak! $ 7! added to my pedicure ($ 20) which i was more than willingly paying for– but as a customer service business, the $ 7 soak should have been waived for my troubles! AT THE VERY LEAST. truly appalling & a very disappointing experience. & i run a customer service business myself. that last bit, what an incredibly bad business practice. i will never be coming here again, and i suggest you do the same.

Good pedicure. Nice manicure. I had an appointment and they helped me right away. Will come back again.

Gave this place a try since it was on my way home and I just needed a quick manicure for a family gathering tomorrow. The woman I went to burned/​sliced two of my fingers while filing my nails. Did not know that was possible. Don’t know why I stayed or payed $ 10 for that. Needless to say, will not be going back.

Just a pedicure. She did a great job took her time too. Place very clean. But there a sign that says no phone please and this man is sitting in the chair talking away about bullshit smh

It’s difficult finding a good nail place, however Coco Nails is your spot. It’s clean, huge inside and they provide a great service. I’ve been going to Lilia for gel manicures and pedicures as well as the guy who sits in the front and I’m never disappointed!

I was weary about going here based on all the Unilocal reviews, but I had a very good experience. I was leaving town and in desperate need of a mani/​pedi before hopping on a plane and luckily coco nails opened up 30 mins before the other salons in the area.
Sandra did my mani pedi and I thought she did a great job. I was done in under an hour and loved her attention detail. It’s pricy, but j think worth it. Clean and well stocked.
I plan on going back.

I tried this place because I happened to be in that area. When I walked in & inquired about the price for a gel manicure, they were well above the going rate. When I asked why so expensive, the woman said «quality». I quietly asked a customer if they do a good job here. She told me yes, so I decided to give it a try. The gel manicure was nicely done & did last me three weeks, which is more than I’ve gotten out of manicures from other salons. I returned three weeks later & this time treated myself to a regular pedi & gel manicure. The pedi is OK, nothing impressive. The mani, looked nice, but this time only lasted me about 2 weeks. Not sure if it’s because a different tech from my first visit. Also, I find it annoying that you get a different tech for toes & nails – each looking for a tip. I’d tip one person more generously if she did both, as opposed to feeling nickeled & dimed. In short, an average mani & mediocre pedi cost me over $ 60! Both times I went, the service was OK & the place was tidy. I’ll give them one more chance to prove themselves worthy of the added cost.

Terrible — they have you sit in pedi chair put your feet in water and you sit for 15 minutes waiting for technician (this is second time) I asked for towel to dry my feet and left. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE !!! Service is horrible.

I’m really disappointed. I’ve been looking for a new nail salon and this seemed like a great option. But, the person who did my nails did not do a good job. My nails look messy now — almost like I did them myself. Plus there was nail polish on my fingers afterwards that another worker had to remove (gel manicure so they couldn’t just chip it off). Really disappointing. I’m definitely not going there again.

Based on my own personal experience here, along with previous reviews, this salon is hit or miss.
The last time I came here was on a Wednesday mid-​afternoon and they were not especially crowded. In the past, when I’ve come on weekends or holidays (especially in the summer months) it can feel like an assembly line. They will often work on your mani/​pedi in one shot to move you along. If you’re in a hurry, that can be a good thing, but if your feet or hands need a little TLC you may feel like you’re getting ripped off. So it seems that if you come at a more off time you can expect a little more attention. During my last visit, one of the girls also gave me a complimentary message while I was getting my mani. It was about 5 minutes, very needed & very relaxing. If I wasn’t in a rush to get back to work I would’ve paid for a full massage. The salon is conveniently located close to both my job and my home, so when I’m in a pinch I’ll come back. I stopped coming here because they were super expensive, but it seems like their prices are more in line with other local places now. It was $ 31 for a mani pedi.

Excellent pedicure. Worth the trip from the north shore. Rocio massaged my feet and legs to the point of complete relaxation. No wait time since the place is loaded with over 15 pedicure chairs. I think the overall low stars are reflective of those who were not happy with the service and not enough reviewers who had a pleasant experience. If they did a good job, tip well — at least 30% of the cost of the pedicure. And if they did a mediocre job, instead of a measly tip and a not so great review, let the girl know what she did wrong so it helps the next customer. After all, we’re all human aren’t we?

Not worth the money, wait or hype. People were rude. My chair was broken. And when I went to tip the girl four dollars she kept her hand out for more money. Ok. I get it. No thanks coco.

We decided to try this place because its closer to my house. Before making an appt I went in the day before and checked it out. The place looked decent it was super busy, clean. I inquired about prices thought it was a little expensive but i said hey how bad can you mess up a pedicure. Boy did i put the whamy on myself!
I returned the next day for our appt and was barely greeted. Not knowing what to do we had to ask. It was like the first day of school and we were the one with no friends! We sat down and shes pushing my legs around easy there. Already i see this isnt going well. She goes and grabs tools that are just laying around ! YUCK!!! THEY DONT SANITIZE THEIR EQUIPMENT! She looks at my feet and she doesnt want to cut my nails. Then she does a one two scrub on the bottom of my feet. Which did nothing. She doesnt want to use the razor. Blessing in disguise i guess. I was there literally for 25 minutes for 21 bucks the biggest rip off. I will never go back and now i have to go to my podiatrist cause i may have an infection!

Was able to get a pedicure without a wait or appointment, which is nice, but it was a pretty mediocre job. Once again, my big complaint is that there was no strength for the massage, very lackadaisical. The whole service was less than a half hour long.
It certainly wasn’t the worst pedicure I’ve ever had — it just wasn’t memorable. I would consider coming back if there was a coupon or in a pinch if I really needed a pedicure desperately and couldn’t get an appointment elsewhere.
The highlights:
— walk-​in welcome and no wait (at least for me, on a Thursday evening)
— as other reviewers have said, the place is pretty clean
— it has a nice vibe/​atmosphere
— it’s $ 1 cheaper than the last 3 places I’ve been to on Staten Island.
I have a feeling this is one of those places that is extremely hit-​or-​miss. Some will have a great experience and others will have a bland one. I prefer a place that is consistently good.

I’ve been coming to Coco Nails & Spa for years now and have never had a disappointing visit. I’ve had all different girls do my manicure and pedicures and they’ve all done a wonderful job. They have a great color selection and I love their pedicure spa chairs. They’re always pretty busy and they accept walk-​ins so expect a wait, especially on a Saturday and Sunday. Now that Spring/​Summer is coming and toes are about to be out in full-​force expect even more crowds. There are people who get huffy and don’t like to wait and to those people I say go elsewhere that accepts no walk-​ins. There’s no room for huffing, puffing and general rudeness to the staff and the other customers. They are on the pricey side but they do good work and are very clean.

Been coming here for years. It is pricey for the island, but it’s also the best quality and the cleanest one — they clean it spotless every morning. Very friendly staff, spacious interior, great overall.
There is also a location that is huge plus for them — close to expressway and shopping.

Good manicures, don’t care for the pedicures.
Its a nice salon but I find a bit pricey for Staten Island.
