History

Established in 2015.

Palm Asian Dish Indian Restaurant is just recently opened on February 18, 2015. Its a mix of culture from both Asia. Shrilanka, India and Philippines. Basically most are Indian delicacies. Travelled from Dubai via massachussettes bring here in Staten Island to serve you the Best of real Asian Indian food will satisfy your tastebuds magically, and deliciously. all food can be adjusted accoding to your liking to make it tastier and more healthier for you.

It’s a small, quiet, charming little place to eat. The food here is good and the owners are so fri very attentive. I’ve never opted for delivery so I can’t comment on that. Everything is cooked to serve so I don’t mind a little longer of a wait for my food. On weekends they have a little lunch buffet and it’s a great way to try out new dishes without ordering one of everything. If you like a little spice I recommend the masala tea!

Attempted to place an order for delivery. Two hours later still no delivery. Called the restaurant and was told order just left. Half an hour after the call still no delivery. Stay away.

Ok to be fair the food here is good if you have the patience. But our experiences here have been horrible. The first time we ordered, our order took 90 minutes. The second time we ordered it took two hours. Last evening was the peak of ridiculousness. We ordered way in advance of dinner, almost after lunch. An hour in we got a phone call that they were out of lamb and if we would like need instead. They said they had a party. Ok fine. We asked for beef. Two and a half hours later still no food. We call them. They decided to cancel our order. Because they were busy. And didn’t bother to tell us. Oh, in our three times there, they never have mango chutney. Each time they let us order and then call us to tell us. Just take it off of the menu already. Never eating here again. The owner clearly doesn’t understand how to run a restaurant.

The food here is not special by any means the and delivery wait time absolutely absurd. I ordered from here on two different occasions and both times my food took over an hour and a half. The first time I said a full two hours, I called after an hour and asked where my food was and they always say the same stuff «15 minutes, it just left» well, I wait3: 15 minutes. Then 30 then 45 then a full hour later it shows up ice cold! Same exact thing happened the second time.
This place is not worth it.

I NEVER take the time out to review a restaurant, but I felt that I just had to for this place. First off, I ordered food for delivery. I looked at the other reviewers and saw that this place takes 2 hours to deliver the food sometimes. I figured, nah can’t be. Of course I was wrong, my food took over 2 hours to be delivered and I’m less than 3 miles away. I ordered at 7:45pm, the food didn’t come until a few minutes to 10pm. Needless to say, the food was cold, and the restaurant was closed by the time I called.
Now for the food. I ordered the Goat Vindaloo Curry and Garlic Naan. To preface, I have never had goat before, but I decided to be adventurous. Besides the chunks of fat I had to go through, it was reminiscent of oxtail. I probably wouldn’t order that again, I would stick with something I’m used to, like lamb. There weren’t many pieces of goat either. On a side note, if you’ve had vindaloo before, you know it comes like a stew. It isn’t fun to find bones and almost crack a tooth. Maybe that’s how you are supposed to serve goat, I don’t know, like I said, first timer. The garlic naan wasn’t anything to write home about either. It was too crispy and, although the bag reeked of garlic, there wasn’t much on the naan itself. To be honest, the food would likely have been pretty decent had it not been cold.
I don’t think I could bring myself to order from here again. And to think, they have the audacity to charge a delivery fee and not deliver the (cold) food for over 2 hours. Perhaps eating at the actual restaurant might be a different experience, but I do not recommend getting delivery.

I didn’t really have a problem. Food did take an hour to get there. But the mulligatawny was hot n delicious. The lamb byriani was spicy n very tasty as well as visually aesthetic also. Could have used more, sure, but still good. Butter naan dipped in mulligatawny was awesome btw.

if you want authentic Indian food with genuine people preparing it with love and care then palm Indian is the place for you. Hidden in a strip mall on Richmond road if you drive fast you may miss it so take your time. My boyfriend and I have gone there several times and have enjoyed each time we went. The owners are a husband and wife team that are adorable and so helpful regarding each meal they offer. My boyfriend d is vegetarian and I’m not and both appetites are met with great flavor. Get the naan stuffed bread with cheese as well as the special naan with raisins and nuts. Everything is amazing but when in doubt get the tikka masala it’s a great intro to Indian food meal, creamy and just enough spice to get you started. Run out of rice? no worries they serve you a another order at no extra charge. Korma is also good it’s a almond based cream sauce which doesn’t taste heavy. We did order take out it did take almost an hour but we didn’t mind we were a little
out of the area but the food was still hot and fresh! Worth it to me everytime!!!

Let’s put aside that my order for delivery took 2 hours. You read that right… 2. That I had to call them to find out where my food was… once they knew, I should have been offered some manner of compensation. How does one entrée take 2 hours???
I have been eating and ordering indian food since I was 5. I know a bit about how good indian food tastes. I ordered lamb Korma prepared mild. I also ordered a side of mango chutney. First, the food came spicy. After 2 hours I was too hungry to send it back. I figured, hey I have the mango chutney to cool it off, right? Wrong, the mango chutney was vile. I have no idea what they sent, but it was spicy and had seeds. Nasty. The lamb portion was tiny. For 12.95, that portion was highway robbery. In fact, once I ate the 8 postage stamp sized pieces of lamb, I had about 3 cups of sauce left over. Maybe it was actually soup.
To say I’ll never call them again is an understatement. Hideous customer service. Tiny portions for the money and vile food.
Do yourself a favor, skip them

Went here twice cause we had a groupon coupon both times and both time were take out. The first time we had their food, it had a weird taste — not authentic as you would get it as in Taste of India. Maybe we thought they were having an off day. We tried their food again.
It still didn’t taste right. My husband didn’t enjoy their channa masala, channa saag, aloo matter. I didn’t like their chicken tikka masala. It tasted funny and it felt like there was too much heavy cream than sauce itself.
You are better off going to the other Indian restaurant in New Dorp Lane. It’s more authentic, even though the price is like NYC prices.

The people who run this place are very, very nice. That said, the food here has a ways to go.
Having been there at least 15 times already since they opened, we have had almost everything on the menu.
We have had days when everything was awesome, and days where everything was awful. The owner mentioned that they were waiting for the new chef to join them sometime this Fall (2015), so we will have to wait and see. Maybe /​Maybe not.
Menu items to definitely try: Mango Lassi, Falooda, Tofu Saag, Samosa, Veg/​Egg Fried Rice

I was pleasantly shocked by this place, especially after reading some of the other reviews. Maybe I set my expectations too low, but I was really impressed with this little gem! I’ll start with one drawback– the restaurant was empty before we got there. Then again, we arrived maybe an hour (maybe a little less) before closing time.
I noticed a buffet set-​up on the left, and a staff member noodling on her phone when we first arrived. I take a few points off for that, but she was quite attentive after that first hiccup. I was wondering if they served buffet-​style only, but they had a menu, so we ordered from that.
We tried the garlic naan, which was really delicious– such a nice consistency. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and the BF ordered the jalfrezi– yum yum yum, super flavorful.
I would say the thing I liked the least was the mint chutney. The other accoutrements were okay but the mint was a little «off». I can’t really put my finger on what it is, but it was my least favorite part of the meal. Simple solution– just stop eating it lol.
We didn’t order dessert and took the rest of our meals home. Our server asked if we’d like to take the rice home and brought out a full container of it to us.
We were both happy with the experience and would definitely consider coming back. They don’t seem to serve liquor/​beer/​wine, but that was okay with us this time around.
I would definitely give it another try.

If I could give this place a zero for a rating I would. The service is horrible took five years to get food and was food was terrible. They cooked us naan bread like five times and I asked for whole wheat sweet naan and I got white bread with nothing. The chicken sucked dick is was soggy uncooked and not seasoned properly. Basically everything this place gave us was shit and I actually liked this place when they first opened but after this past visit I will not be returning. Go to taste of India on newdorp lane ten times better and better service by a mile. the funny part I live right down the block I thought wow finally something different then Italian but after my experience here I’ll be sticking case verse rift next store.

This is my first time writing a review and placing a order from this restaurant. If they could receive a half star that’s what I would rate them. I was totally disappointed with their professionalism and they’re horrible food. I ordered shrimp curry and vegetable samosa. The shrimp with overcooked and needless to say the samosa was like you was drinking oil from a glass. I ordered my food at 7:19 they never delivered it until 9 o’clock. The delivery guy was very disrespectful. This was a waste of my hard earn money.

Just moved to Staten Island and Ive been trying to find a good Indian restaurant. Unfortunately this isn’t it. Food was absolutely horrible. Some of the worst I have ever had.

This is a decent Indian restaurant. They have a typical menu that you’d find at most Indian restaurants in the US, and their dishes are pretty standard. I ordered the Vegetable Korma, and my mother had the Chicken Tikka Masala, while my aunt had Chicken Vindaloo. We all had rice as well along with garlic naan.
Starting with the good:
*Garlic Naan: The quality of the bread was very good, but there was no garlic. However, the bread itself was delicious. Fresh.
*Rice: Good.
*Veg Korma: Under-​salted by a mile. It was fair. Not particularly flavorful but not bad.
*Chicken Tikka Masala: Also under salted. Not much chicken. Not very flavorful but again not bad.
*Chicken Vindaloo: Spicy which was good. Lacking in flavor and complexity.
I am quite surprised this place gets such great ratings but then again Indian food in Staten Island is hard to find. I prefer Taste of India on New Dorp Lane but in a pinch this is decent food particularly if you live in this part of the Island.

Best Indian food I’ve had in a while. Chicken tikka masala and the naan are exceptional. My husband loves the lamb saag. They also have a great lunch buffet with rice, naan and tandoori chicken at the table, along with unlimited masala chai tea and a lot of choices at the buffet. Also — I cannot say enough good things about the owner and his wife. They go above and beyond to cater to you! Love this place and have quickly become a regular!

I love this restaurant. Authentic and homey. The owners are wonderful people who treat you like family. Real homemade indian/​Sri Lankan cuisine. They are not cheap on the spices and flavors like some other places. I cannot wait to return. They are waiting on their liqueur license, but they do allow you to bring your own until then. Once you go here… you will not go anywhere else for this type of flavor on the island. This def. Goes on my map for a staten island hidden gem. Try any korma or vindaloo. Looking for something different? Just ask they have awesome sugguestions! Mmmm I hope you enjoy as much ands I do. Don’t forget a Masala tea before you leave ;)
