Spent over an hour in the store trying to pick up a coffee table for a friend. 1. Sales associate wasn’t able to locate item on hold 2. Tried to charge me full price (while holding the sale price sticker in hand!?) 3. Refused to accept 10% off email coupon (fine print: «coupon valid on all regular, sale & clearance merchandise») 4. Asked me to pull my car around back to customer pickup — customer pickup redirected me to the front? What a joke! Angel (manager): you run a tight ship. Next time please have the courtesy to come out of your back room to address the problem.

They have a sign outside that grabs you, 50% off it says. Then you go in, and it’s not so 50% off, it’s more like 20% off certain things nobody likes. I kept it moving.

Love coming here to redecorate my home with some cute stylish furniture an figures. It is a bit pricey but before I go an purchase I’ll browse through home goods to compare prices an get the best bargain. Parking lot is combined with trader joes which can be a bit annoying. The staff is okay I didn’t have any issues but their not as friendly as expected.

A lot of cute stuff here but pricey! Before buying from here I would check out home goods and price check. The staff was nice and helpful. The store is clean and well organize.

I visited the Staten Island location on July 20 with the intention of purchasing dining table, chairs and living room furniture. This is a substantial purchase which is why I am upset. I entered the store at noon and it was busy. There were enough employees to handle the customers that they wanted to handle. I walked the whole store and was not even asked the generic «how are you doing.»
I finally approached the greeter and she said to ask the register for information on ordering. I approach the busy register and stand in line. There is no system for being helped they just wave down people out of order. So I walk around the store and come back when the rush has died down. I stand at the register with my hands on the counter, and not a single employee approaches me. They are busy fidgeting with some brochures and the computer, won’t even look at me. Finally I see a customer out of the corner of my eye with some stuff in her hand, and she is called up to the register. …she passes me and Finally I am told someone will help me. I storm of the store in disgust. This is the worst service I have ever seen in any store. My business will be taken elsewhere.

I like Pier 1 in general. Like this new location. But have to vent — the employee staff is horrible and desires to be better. I had to buy a few items. I was standing in the cashier line, the only customer to pay. There were three or four employees fussing around and none looked at me until 15 min passed. Then one of them looked at me and very sarcastically asked if she can help me with something. I really had an urge to drop everything and leave, but… They have an interesting policy of asking your phone number (which is in a lot of stores), but then going through your email address and your full name (?). I find giving that info is not necessary in order to buy a cup. When I tried to be sarcastic, the cashier got nastier. So paying for 4 items took 25 min. Change the attitude!

I am impressed with the new location. However, everybody in that store looks annoyed. The only friendly greeting I received was from the girl at the front door. While I appreciate that the employees don’t follow me around, a simple hello, or just a conversation about what I am looking at will keep me in the store, and maybe get me to purchase some things.
The only other bummer is that there is a gym on top. So while you roam, you will hear the barbells drop. I wonder if they can add something to the ceiling to help quiet the noise, otherwise, it sounds like a bowling alley at times.
Pier 1 has a great concept and idea. Their commercials are good, and their store is set up well. There is definite improvement with the works with a good management team. It seems like it would be a fun place to work in with all the stuff in there.

Love the new location! It is much bigger and they definitely changed their pricing. Customer service is very good and helpful. I love all the items they have and how they have rooms set up. It shows how everything could be arranged. They do have sale items and you can definitely find little gifts for others. The selection is much greater than it used to be. The parking can be a little tight, but there is additional parking in the back. Great store and I can’t wait to shop there again.

I love this store. Now it’s bigger and more things and love the big parking lot too. They share it with Retro fitness & Trader Joes but its pretty big. I love the nice scents and smells. Workers are really helpful. It’s just such a nice place to find really nice things for your home or gifts for someone else. I must say it is pricey but the stuff is worth it and not cheap materials or making. It opens up at 10am and I know they have clearance and sale racks. You can find pretty much everything here.

Cute store that has everyday home items. Find little stuffs every time but alittile pricy

This is one of my favorite stores. Will even go here for a pick me up, even if I don’t pick anything up lol. It’s bright, colorful, relaxing and cozy believe it or not. I love how their selection is eclectic and international, and if you like, they also have simple and understated which is nice at times too. The staff is friendly, always willing to go the extra mile. There’s a jewelry section in the back, costume stuff of a better quality than most department store chains. It’s a convenient location, separate from other shopping stores so no parking traffic whatsoever. The Staten Island Mall is about a mile down and it’s also located right across from the island’s only Barnes and Noble Bookstore. The only minor infraction is that when I buy a large piece, or glass or ceramic pieces, they never have boxes to put them in and even though they’ll wrap it properly in paper, it’s nerve wracking to leave the store like that. They occasionally sell boxes, which they do carry during the holidays, but I hope they’ll keep them stocked year round.
