What can I say about this place that hasn’t already been said? It’s really fantastic. Most recently I had soft chocolate ice cream, no toppings. It’s smooth and creamy, rich flavor that is simple but lives up to its potential in that flavor.

Most of these locations are all the same. Usually crowded, employees are always happy, and the ices always put a smile on my face. I’d give 5 stars if they were open all year!

Though the Port Richmond location will forever have my heart, this South Shore ice stand holds me over when I’m on that side of the mall. Try all of the following, not all at once: jelly roll, rainbow cookie, canoli, strawberry cheesecake, lemon meringue, piña colada… in fact — try them all. None will disappoint.

Ralph’s in Port Richmond will always be my favorite place to get ices, but this Ralph’s comes in a close second. The ices are good(obviously) but the service is admirable. The lines can be long, but they move quickly, and the kids behind the counter are friendly and efficient. If it’s 100 degrees out, you’re a high school kid that’s stuck at work, yet you still manage to put a smile on your face and do a good job — you deserve a tip. And they always get one from me. It’s awesome to have this place in the neighborhood for post dinner sugar cravings!
