Sansbury Medical

I have been a customer of Sansbury Medical for many years but not after today. My husband and I took my elderly sister in law to Sansbury Medical on 7÷19÷10 to select a wheelchair for use on our upcoming cruise. (She has a heart condition and needs one for long distances.) I was quoted a price of 20 dollars for one week by Chuck the store owner who then revised the price to 25 dollars for half a month since I need the chair for 10 days. I quoted this price back to him and said «That’s fantastic!»
When I sent my husband in to pick up the chair today his employee doubled the price to 50 dollars. I called and was told that the paperwork indicated that it was 25 per week. I was certain of the price that I was quoted as I gave the exact dates of my trip to Chuck. I called Chuck in the business office and he insisted that he never offered me that price. He yelled at me saying «You’re right and I’m wrong!» He further insulted me by yelling that I wanted a wheelchair for free. I told him I didn’t want it for free but I only wanted to abide but what he promised and if not I would return the chair. His response to that was to hang up after a flurry of very fast words which I did not understand.
I will give one allowance to Chuck in that I don’t think he probably works in his own store often. The day he took care of us another customer came in and he was trying to take care of us both at the same time. Maybe he wrote one thing on paper and said another to the three of us because he was trying to multi-​task. However, if my sole objective was to secure a wheelchair for one person and I have a bevy of details of the conversation as if took place then I should have been given the benefit of the doubt and not accused of trying to cheat him out of a wheelchair.

I went for a neck brace and a heating pad (pretty standard stuff for a medical supply store). The guy at the counter was extremely helpful and nice and really knew his stuff. Simple, little store — great service. Thank you! Close to the Staten Island Mall too!
