Staten Island Custom Performance (SIC Performance) will has a new state-​of-​the-​art performance testing shop and retail store, At the current time we are looking at a number of location in Staten Island. Very unhappy with the services… my boyfriend and I had lots of work.money.and time put into a car and the jobs were not done the right way… so we continuously had to bring it back to be fixed… still not fixed… just poor work .poor excuses. Very frustrated with the shop… do not go to sic performance

This is a short review as I did not have any work done on the car. Ill explain.
I was driving by the area when my check engine light came up along with 4wd and VSC (vehicle stability control). This kind of scared me so I checked for a mechanic nearby. I found this place and stopped by to ask if they had any appointments available soon to get this checked because I did not know how serious this could be and was worried driving around with the check engine light on.
One of the mechanics said he would just quickly check what the code said in case it wasnt serious. He connected to the car computer and said that the code was most likely the result of not tightening the gas cap. He just tightened it and told me to drive a few miles and it should go away. If it didnt clear within 100 miles to call them up to schedule to go back in and see what it was.
Sure enough after about 20 miles the code cleared. It was just the gas cap. I felt kind of stupid but now I know to always make sure it is back on tight.
The review is because a busy mechanic took time out of their busy schedule to quickly check on this and instead of trying to rip me off like I fear from most mechanics by lying about the problem and charging me some crazy amount to fix it, he just told me to come back if the problem persisted.
That deserves a five star review for me.

I drove to Staten Island from Norwood for the weekend and when I got there my car broke down. I googled for the closest shop near me and found this place.
I have a 2007 Rav 4. It turned out that the problem I had was the alternator. Michael (I think he is the main mechanic in store) not only found the issue out immediately but had it fixed in a few hours and I was able to return to Boston in my own vehicle.
When I got back, I checked the price of the alternator part online just to see if I was over charged (despite it not costing very much, I still had to check because I always do) and the invoice for the alternator matched the price I found online (exaxt amount. I understand that shops may find it cheaper, but I was pleased I wasnt charged a penny more than if I bought it myself). Not only that but, the cost for the work was insanely reasonable which was comforting because as soon as I found out what the issue was, I started googling the cost of alternator repair.
I was finding posts stating that they range anywhere from 600 bucks to 1500 and shops can do this anywhere from same day to a couple of weeks. I was getting nervous but didnt have enough time to panic as it was fixed in a few hours under 500 bucks.
Now the costs may vary depending on availability of parts for your vehicle, but not only was the part cost cheap, but the repair cost below what I was finding in posts.
I only wish he could open a shop near me as it is very difficult to find a good mechanic.

stay away from this place unless you want to lose a lot of money like i and many others have. they have no idea about building cars or how to do any kind of diagnostic work. they over charge and then triple charge on the smallest job you give them. if there is a problem your car will stay there for years, yes years, until you give up and take it elsewhere. the owner of this shop told me that my 2012 mercedes benz s63 with 3000 miles is smoking and that my motor was weak. either he is a hater or just does not have a clue what he is talking about. a job they did on a f-​150 lightning, the other partner (the older man) that lies a lot informed me that the clanking noise was my ball joints that were no good, when in fact it was lug nuts that they had not tied down good. call me at 1(917)566 7406 and i will tell you my story. stay away or go to krazy house customs that already has a sic performance casualty department.

I had an older BMW. It was a 1995 525i and with those cars things eventually start to go, like my air conditioning. I probably brought my car to three other places and no one was able to help me. They kept saying they fixed the problem when they didn’t. There was still hot air blowing when I had my AC on. I finally brought it to Staten Island Custom Performance and they were a lot nicer than any previous places I went. He sat with me in my car while I blasted my AC and he immediately could tell something was wrong. I left my car there so he could diagnose the issue. He figured out that the problem was my heater coolant control valve. As it turns out prior shops were blindly changing parts hoping it would fix the problem. Not only did Staten Island Custom Performance fix my car, they were personable and explained what was wrong so that I could understand it. I only use them now to service my car. I highly recommend this shop. All my close family and friends only go here.
