Torrid

First I’ll start by saying that torrid can at times be a bit on the expensive side BUT being in plus sizes most of my life I must say that their clothes fit our shapes way better than other plus size stores. Their clothes actually last and I only get my jeans from them. They also have some good sales and haute cash so you can get a good deal if you put in the effort.
But the real reason for leaving my review is to compliment the staff at the Staten Island mall location. I always shop at jersey gardens mall since they have torrid plus several other plus size stores, however, the last time I went to jersey gardens I had an issue (which I will leave a review for as well). I finally decided to just come to the SI torrid (since I live 5 min away anyways). I have to say that the staff is BEYOND helpful. Honestly they helped me so much while I was shopping and with smiles the whole time. I really can’t remember the last time I’ve had customer service like that in a clothing store. I really wish I wrote down the girls names because they definitely deserve recognition. I spent a good amount of money that night and now I am even more inclined to shop at torrid because of the pleasant experience. A big thumbs up to the staff for making clothes shopping a great experience when normally I’d be stressed and cranky lol

I love Torrid! I recommend trying everything on before you buy– just because it looks good on that model online, doesn’t mean it’s gonna look good on you. I have seen sooooo many things that look awesome and the minute I get them on, woah, what happened?! Also, if you’re a rocker, this is the place to shop!
Torrid is not cheap, you should definitely look out for sales, everything in that store eventually goes on sale, so if you have a little patience, you can score some great deals. Take care when washing the clothes as well, they tend to pill, so I try to keep them out of the dryer. This is the only place I have ever been able to find truly BLACK jeans (in my size), but the jeans tend to wear out very quickly– if you find something that you love here, buy multiples (once it’s gone, you won’t be able to find it again and as I said, stuff wears out pretty quick).
The sales staff is always super friendly and accommodating –I have never visited a Torrid anywhere where they weren’t. It’s a great shopping experience — go visit Torrid!

Welcome back Torrid! They had a Torrid store years ago in the mall when I first moved out here but it closed down shortly after I arrived. I guess someone in corporate decided to give the mall a second chance!
Anywho, all the pretty clothes I’ve seen on the Torrid website can be found on the store. Gorgeous jackets in neon colors. Boot cut jeans! Even corsets for the Victorian/​steampunk/​Renaissance crowd. Not gonna lie, the prices are high but the clothes are really stylish and they make clothing for women walking the on the plus size lane.
My advice is to sign up for their emails so you can know when the sales are happening. Plus you get $ 10 off coupon the month of your birthday which you can use up to a month after it’s sent on any item in the store. Even if it’s on clearance!
BTW, if you order stuff online but don’t want to pay the s&h, you can have it sent to a local store for free!
