I came to Touché salon on a Wednesday because my friend recommended Marina for a waxing. When I called the receptionist told me I ABSOLUTELY can’t come without an appointment. I told her I’d be there soon and she very abruptly told me that I can come this once but never again without an appointment. I don’t know why I continued down Hylan… When I got there no one greeted me. My friend told me this might happen, so I walked to the back to find Marina. She was very pleasant. She took me right away(so not sure why the receptionist was so rude about an appointment). I was satisfied with the job Marina did. When I went to pay, the same receptionist was very nasty to one of the other employees. I felt terribly embarrassed for the employee. Since they only accept cash, I had to use the ATM. The receptionist reprimanded me a SECOND time for not making an appointment. Don’t worry, there will not be any appointments made nor return visits Based on how rude the receptionist was, the tight lot and cash only rule, I won’t return. I felt very uncomfortable with what should be a relaxing experience. Marina did a great job, but I can’t give business to a place where I don’t feel valued. YOUARENOTTHEONLYSALONONSI! You think you’re Tabitha’s Salon Takeover, but you’re actually not fit for Lemon Tree.

They hired a new receptionist a few months ago! I usually go on Thursdays so it makes the salon much more pleasant! She smiles and greets the customers. The new girl has set a much more pleasant tone on the days she is working. Linda, one of the other receptionists, is also wonderful. I do not recommend going on Wednesdays because it can be very uncomfortable on that day. Neither of those wonderful ladies described above are typically working. The owner is the receptionist on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Trust me, just call and you’ll understand the tone. I had to lower down to a 1 because of how it feels in the salon on certain days. Both Ana’s are great also for nails/waxing. I have followed both Ana’s and Marina from different salons otherwise I wouldn’t go here.

Bill just gave me the best haircut of my life. He knew exactly how to cut my hair. I also got my eyebrows done by Marina. I feel like she invented eyebrow waxing. Amazing and talented. The entire staff was nice and funny. Will be back!

Disclaimer: this review is based on the stylist Bea only, I’ve never been to anyone else. I won a gift certificate at a school fundraiser for Bea at Touché. I made an appointment for a trim and wasn’t happy with my experience. My whole time in the chair consisted of Bea stopping to answer her cordless phone(she has her own line in the salon) and talking excessively about herself and how amazing she is. She told me she did a girls hair for some awards show and bla bla bla. Once we got on the topic that I won a gift certificate she started grilling me about who usually cuts my hair. I told her that I was between stylists because mine moved she seemed annoyed saying«well I do these gift certificates to get more clients so I hope you come back or at least pass on my card.» I’m an easy to please person so if she would have done my hair nicely and not have been so self absorbed I would have come back. The best part is at the time my hair was mid length and she dried it half way and said«my hand is hurting is it ok if you let the rest air dry?» I was so aggrivated. My gift card was for $ 50 and she just took it and sent me on my way even after I tipped her. I truly doubt a trim is $ 50 but I had no intentions of returning so I wasn’t going to argue. I think her ego gets in the way of her talents. I have heard a lot of people think Touché is great for waxing, I used to go here when it was Vis a Vis and liked it.

Marina is an expert at eyebrows and eyelashes. I have gone to her every 4 – 6 weeks for over two years now to get both dyed darker. Mine are naturally lighter than my hair, and they don’t show well in the sun. She corrects everything and saves me time and money on make-up. Some other review mentioned since 2005, but that’s probably how long she’s been at this salon, not how long she’s been doing what she does. Marina takes control of the situation like a professional, and the results are top tier. She wins people’s confidence instantly. The only thing she could ever do better is make house calls, lol. Marina, come over anytime! I really want to get my hair done at the same place, of course, for convenience, etc., and granted what I want done is more complicated than most, I have yet to see perfect results at this place, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The service is satisfactory or above each time, and I have a lot of patience, but I’m confident that someone there will eventually get it exactly right because they all seem passionate about their jobs and they seem to have a very low staff turnover rate. I first was bounced around between professionals a few times due to their availability. I keep a layered cut that is no shorter in the front than in the back and kept as long as possible, plus I keep highlights and lowlights. Of course, I’m a total pain in the butt customer for this, hence my patience, but I really want what I want, and I haven’t seen it yet. The first problem is that lowlights and highlights aren’t really the right word for what I want. They only describe the fact that I want two drastically different colors going throughout, but obviously not the extreme black and whitish blonde, but the problem these words cause is they don’t accurately describe how thick I want the chunks of hair. Usually when stylists hear highlights, they take these tiny little strands, and it turns out very natural looking, as if the sun touched your hair in the Summer, but this is not what I’m looking for. I tell them the chunks should be thick enough that with long hair you can see the difference at the ends of the strands from 5 feet away. Sure, this is a bit more than stylists are used to accomodating, but it’s not impossible, and it really only involves going out of the box a bit from whatever they’re taught in barbar school. I see people whose hair is done correctly like this, but I don’t ask them where they went because I really want this place to get it right. They have the means to correct this issue because they have a spot in their computers to leave notes about what they did, so each time I say darker lowlights than last time or thicker chunks, they should be able to refer to last time’s notes about this. My second issue is that they are overly dependent on bleach for the highlights. Another salon I used years ago used dye, and not only does it not damage your hair as much, but the color did turn out fantastic, even going several shades lighter. My third issue is that when touching up roots they reapply through the entire strand, further damaging the hair. I’m sure they are doing this to save time, and granted my visit there is usually at least two hours, but this is the going the extra mile I expect when I’m paying well over $ 200 for my visit. My fourth issue is that I ask for each of the chunks to be the same size as each of the others, but they keep on making the front blonde chunks bigger, making more of a punk look than a party look. My final issue is that when they die and cut on the same day, they do the cutting first, which means that the newly cut ends get damaged from the dye instead of being able to cut the damaged ends off after the dye. I’m sure they do this to save money on dye, but I’d much rather they charge an extra $ 10 for dye and not do this like this. Despite these criticisms, my hairs turns out looking good, and I do get compliments, but it has yet to be exactly what I ask for. I hope they get it soon, and in my opinion, the sign of a five star salon is ability to accomodate more challenging requests.

Marina and Anna R. have been doing my waxing since 2005 — I won’t go anywhere else. Excellent value, very accommodating about making appointments

Nice clean salon with friendly staff and willing to accommodate last minute appointments. I had a great experience at Touché Salon with Andrea. She did a great job on my hair cut and gave me tips on how to style it myself when I get home. Uta also comes highly recommended, my friend, her mom and sister won’t go to anyone else.
