This place is the best little chain sub shop you’ve probably never been to. Great hot subs. Don’t mean to pass the buck but for extended details just check out my review of the Madison Heights location on 12/John R. Same rules apply here.

Recently, I stopped here as a crazed pregnant lady. I was so hungry and everything I wanted to order on the menu was out. Unjustly, I’m holding a bit of a grudge. I ended up with a tuna sub with spicy mustard. It was okay. It might have tasted better without all the extra salt from my tears(lol). I’ll give them another shot when I’m not so crazed as the staff was friendly and efficient.

I really like subs. And there are so many sub places in Troy. Dibella’s, jersey mike’s, jimmy john’s, which wich, capriottis’s, and subway(ew). But I especially like penn station because of their superior warm subs and outstanding French fries. Just something about their pizza sub is so good that I get it every time…

Excellent! I wouldn’t normally write a review on a sub place but this knocked my socks off! I like the basic cheaper chains if I’m going for a sub. Tried dibellas and jersey mikes. Only been to each once because neither one was that good for the money in my opinion. Hubby was out running errands and brought this home. We both got the philly steak and cheese. Was it greasy? Heck yes so not sure about the complaints as I thought that’s how a steak and cheese usually is. The cheese wasn’t just on a bun. It appears it was cooked with the steak. I added mushrooms, light mustard and mayo. Thought it would be weird with those condiments but it knocked it out of the park, Their fries are hand cut. Crispy and better than any fast food chain. They offered malt vinegar packets which I love with fries. To top off my meal my hubby got me a chocolate chip cookie. They are huge, tasty and the perfect ending! I just texted some co workers this place is a must have soon, as I know they will love it.

Ok but not the best. Definitely not the best for takeout as your hot sub will turn to ooze by the time you get home, open and now have to eat with a fork. Mainly my reason to purchase cold subs when ordering to go. I’m not big on the greasy fries. Great for a sit down meal if you like to wait 20 minutes during peak lunch hours on weekdays. Have also waited longer so not the best place for someone that has to be back at work in an hour. Three stars for good taste for fine in only…

I’ve been here only once but I came away impressed. The grilled vegetarian had a warming, savory gooeyness — the teriyaki sauce enhances this. The fresh cut fries had the right balance of crispiness and steaminess. The folks behind the counter are friendly and efficient. Penn Station is a welcome addition to the fleet of area sub shops.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat before hitting the road while trying to avoid the typical fast food restaurants like McDonalds, Subway, Taco Bell, etc. For a whopping 19 bucks we got one 12″ sub, fries, and a Pepsi. Severely overpriced if you ask me. The service was just kind of ‘meh’, it was blatantly obvious that they were only working for a paycheck, and would have rather been anywhere else. I get it, but a fake smile, some eye contact or even a hello would have been nice. Now back to the food… The food was greasy as can be, and saltier than anything I’ve ever eaten. Not only were the fries salty, but the sandwich too. It was kind of gross. I’m going to have to take a hard pass on Penn Station subs from here on out.

I wouldn’t waste my money!!! More bread than anything. The flavor was good just very small portions when you look under all the condiments!!! Very very disappointed!

Penn Station is a great alternative to all the Subways, Jimmy Johns, and DiBellas. They offer many unique sandwiches that are great hot or cold that you can’t find at the other places. The service is also fast and friendly. The fresh cut fries with malt vinegar tops everything off perfectly :-)
