Came back today, Jan. 20. Jeep not blowing hot air… Dan and Jason diagnosed the problem, blew out heater core, removed other gunk, replaced thermostat and radiator cap… ahhhhh, warm heat just when I needed it. Great price, great communication,

Glad I found this spot. Honest staff that does quality work at a price that seems to beat or match other local shops. I had a an oxygen sensor replaced after being told by the dealership I would need to replace the entire exhaust because the sensor was «cross threaded» into muffler. This shop looked at it and confirmed the dealership was wrong and was able to remove the oxygen sensor without a problem. They simply replaced the sensor and was even able to locate and get sensor for my Hyundai the same day. Highly recommend this shop to anyone who wants a honest assessment of a check engine light. The price for this job was on average of what it would be for a repair shop in the area and A LOT cheaper than Fairfax Hyundai, who completely misdiagnosed the seriousness of the issue by stating the sensor was not able to be replaced without the full replacement of the exhaust system. Thanks for confirming my suspicion of the sketchy work that is done by Fairfax Hyundai and also pointing out the oil leak that was also a result from Fairfax Hyundai’s incompetence in changing oil in a Hyundai.

Danny, Michele and the rest of the crew at Absolut are just the best. I only discovered this shop after I lived in Reston for a few years and went to the local shops there where I was cheated time and time again. If only I had discovered this great auto shop sooner, Dan is honest and fair and will never make you pay for something that isn’t necessary. This shop took great car of our cars and we’d come back in a heart beat just to leave our vehicles in their capable hands. It’s worth the drive out to Sterling for the money you’ll save and knowing you’re dealing with an honest business.

We’ve been taking our cars to Absolut Autoworks for thirteen years. Our cars are 4, 10, 15 and 17 years old, but all are still running well, thanks to Danny Maura and his team of extremely experienced technicians. We’ve saved a fortune, judging by our repair bills before switching to Absolut, and have the assurance that our cars are in safe running condition year-​round. For amusing conversation, just take your car in for an oil change and listen to the other customers talk about their PRE-​Absolut Autoworks horror stories — — shoddy repairs, monstrous bills, and a heaping helping of breakdowns. Then listen to their happy tales of Danny Maura’s honesty and integrity, or ask Danny, Todd, or Jason about a particular car issue, and you’ll understand why so many customers come from many miles around to receive such outstanding service.

I am going out of my way to specifically write a bad review for this business. I pulled into to a auto park with 7 different garages all sharing one lot.
The parking spot was reserved for Absolut. I have never been to this location and assumed all the garages belong to the same group.
I went to the garage I could find with a visible state inspection sign.
After I left to move my car, a guy from Absolut came out and said, «you better move your F*ing car, I was about to tow it»
So I said that I assumed they were all part of the same business. He told me that «I had better learn to F*ing read»
I asked «well do you guys do state inspections?».
To which he replied, «You don’t want me to do your inspection, move your car»
He would have had my business… But instead he has my review.

One of the best shops around. They will explain things and provide alternatives if you ask. This is the shop I refer my friends to.
Honest, reliable, on time. They communicate well.
In my experience, they tend to want to use the manufacturer’s brand of parts, not a cheaper, maybe less reliable, «OEM» brand. Using quality parts works for me.

When a random inspection shop near your home tell you that your car has hundred things wrong, ask for a printout and drive straight to Danny. I have been a customer for 5 years and it’s good that he does not make me see him often. I had major repairs and major overdue repairs done from them, and never had to go back for the same repair.

Being a DIY mechanic means that I trust very few people to wrench on my vehicles but Danny and Todd at Absolut Autoworks are the only 2 I will allow to come near my cars. They work fast and efficient while charging fair prices on parts and labor.

Had take my 03 SUV to a dealer and was quoted $ 2000. Absolut quoted me $ 1000 AND told me no need for an immediate repair. Gave me directions on what to do and monitor the situation. Save me $ 1000 (well, $ 2000 really!). They were highly recommended and I do the same.

Believe it or not, I heard about this place through my wife. She’s always the one online looking for «reviews» and «deals», I used to be «awe lets just go to the dealer» to fix everything kind of guy. She went here a few times for some basic repairs on her BMW X3 when the dealer wanted to charge an arm and a leg for some basic maintenance. They were really great with scheduling and customer service. The head mechanic and owner took time to talk to us and help us understand what the problem was and what options we had. They made us feel very comfortable and confident in their abilities. Also what they charged for parts and labor were a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
I was sold, I needed some work on my Jeep Grand Cherokee and I decided to give these guys a try for myself. I wanted to add a lift and got a quote from my dealer first, Absolut did it for about a third of the cost and in less than half the time!
Since then I went back to the dealer to do an oil change and was very disappointed at how long it took and then the insane amount of pressure and intimidation they use to try and up sell you. They tell you that your car is basically a death trap unless you let them replace your breaks, flush your transmission, change all your fluids or fix your engine. I couldn’t take it anymore.
So now for all our car needs we go to these guys. If you have a question just call them and talk to Danny or Todd or any of those guys and you will immediately understand. I’ve never been pressured to do anything from these guys and they always give me options. I’ve even asked them to order something for me that I realized I didn’t need later, I called them back and they fixed it, no guilt and no problem.
Bottom line, they earned the trust of my family and I recommend them to everyone.

RESPECT these guys a lot. i was trying to change my spark plugs and was afraid I was going to break them. I purchased the spark plugs and took them to replace for me. They called me and said the plugs I had were not strong enough for my truck. They gave me a list of options to select from. I am thankful that they were honest with me. I return the plugs to the auto store.
That version on the Batmobile ended up with over 225,000 miles on it that in part to these guys.

These guys had good reviews on several places but frankly I was disappointed.
They quoted me over 300 total to repair/​diagnose an oxygen sensor and charged to read the diagnostic code. I ordered the part from Majestic Honda (great prices if you know the part you need) and it took just 30 minutes for me to install it.
If you have a good relationship with them, they’re probably fine. I was very disappointed though coming in as a new customer.
EDIT: It’s very interesting to see how many «filtered reviews» this shop has. Unilocal applies heuristics to guess which reviews should not be displayed. Some «real» ones slip through the cracks but it does catch a fair amount of «fake» reviews by employees and owners

Danny, Todd, Jason and Fred are probably the best team I have ever dealt with when it comes to customer service. they really go the extra mile and get things done for you at a reasonable rate and in excellent time. I will go as far as to say they are the best in the DC area! thanks so much for your assistance Danny and team.

Absolut Autoworks got us in and out on the same day for exhaust repairs to my wife’s 2000 Subaru Outback. The prices were reasonable and the customer service was friendly. They even brought me out to take a look at the car on the lift without me asking! From there we discussed options and they listened to my concerns and requests and went forward the way I wanted to operate.
It was a laid-​back, no pressure, zero-​pushiness environment. And I felt like they weren’t trying to screw me over like all those gas stations will.

I’ve been using Danny’s shop for going on 12 years now; I have never, not once had a complaint about their work. Always the best most professional work possible!

Hands down, Absolut is the best auto shop I’ve ever used! I found them in Washington Checkbook (they received the highest price/​service ratings) so I took my car there for it’s routine maintenance and was presently surprised by the service and the cost… much less expensive than going to the dealership, of course, and also much less expensive that I was paying for routine maintenance at my former auto shop. The owner (I think is name is Todd) is super friendly and so is his wife, who works in the back office. I never feel like I’m getting scammed when I go here… and I’m a girl that knows absolutely nothing about cars… other than to get oil changes and follow the maintenance schedule in my handbook. The one time I did have something unscheduled go wrong w/​my car (it turned out to be the muffler) I took it over and they took it for a quick test drive and immediately diagnosed the problem. They also fixed it same day for me… although this may have been a stroke of luck as they do tend to get busy and I normally need an appt. The only downside is that they aren’t open weekends, but you can drop your car off on Sundays and put your key in the dropbox and they’ll call you for pickup when your car is ready.
