We had a wonderful experience with Celebrations Catering. Everyone I dealt with from my initial contact with them until the moment they left our house after a delightful evening of outstanding food and service(plus a clean kitchen with no dishes to wash) was helpful, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. My event was a dinner party for 20 to celebrate a special birthday for two dear friends. It was a small but important event for us and Celebrations Catering treated us like we were hosting the best party of the year. Thanks to them, it was!

I don’t know how this company garners ANY good reviews at all when my experience with them so absolutely awful! They were the exclusive Caterer at my wedding venue last year, Rosemont, and I think that’s most of the problem right there: they are exclusive and can get away with whatever they want to do, no matter how outrageous the price because the unlucky bride and groom are stuck with no recourse. And there is no one to enforce good business practices or decent customer service. Lesson learned right there:; NEVER book with any venue that gives you no choice in a vendor. Basically, the POC at Rosemont for Celebrations is a Mr. David Weinschel, who never returned calls or emails promptly, and did not take my concerns over cost seriously. Sure he was sympathetic, but did nothing to actually HELP, even when I offered cost alternatives to HISCOMPANY. When I confronted him about taking so long to get back to me, repeatedly; and not seeming to be concerned about helping me reign in costs, he deflected everything onto myself, the paying customer, which should never happen, period. it got so bad that the venue had to get the General Manager, Adolfo Mendez, to speak to me, just to get anything to proceed forward, because Weinschel just didn’t seem to give a rip. Adolfo at least tried. He was professional and always got back to me quickly. But Celebratons doesn’t seem to be concerned that their prices are on par with what you’d pay in D.C. proper — and that’s not appropriate for out here in the suburbs where a lot of folks don’t make 100k a year because blue collar jobs just don’t pay that much. In the end, the venue had to step and in and owner, Mr. Genda, chipped in some of his OWN money, so we could be somewhat close to budget and afford to feed our guests ANYTHING. Two decent things(since my Mom always said to say at least 1 thing positive about everybody): the head chef, Jose Marty, was a real jewel, and saved the day with his own professionalism and willingness to cooperate with me. Also, I have read good reviews about folks who book at Whitehall, which seems to be the H.Q. for Celebrations. Specifically I have heard good things from folks who worked with Adam or Douglas. I think I was just very unlucky to have to work with a jerk like Weinschel. He should just work with the books and save everybody some grief.
