Holiday Inn Washington-Dulles Intl Airport

I drive a truck and I got a little too cocky. I pulled into the parking lot here with a tractor trailer and I was almost able to get out, but was stopped by a sign post. The staff here were very helpful especially their maintenance guy Driss. He spotted for me and I was able to turn around with no scratched cars or bent signs. Oh, and the rooms are very nice. Definitely stay here again, when I have a box truck.

This is a great hotel to stay at. The prices are reasonable and the rooms are updated. They have a great indoor pool. If you have people come in town they have great deals on weekends.

I was fortunate to book a room here this weekend while Frosty the Snowman continues to crap on us outside (blizzard). Roadways are terrible, so after a long day at work I’m fortunate to arrive here for a hot shower.
The hotel needs some serious TLC though. The walls are thin, I can hear every conversation going on next door. The doors are thin as well. The massive AC unit is loud. A thin white curtain is the only barrier between my room and the outside world (parking lot). I was hoping for black out curtains that could block out the glare of the snow outside and also provide some privacy (I’m on the first floor).
The front desk staff is friendly though and I appreciate the refrigerator, microwave, and USB ports next to the bed.

Outdated hotel that needs some serious love. It’s surrounded by other hotels, not much to walk to in terms of food and drinks. They do have a restaurant on site but that’s your only option. The food there is decent. Rooms are old but the staff is very friendly.

I have been for 7 nights at the hotel.
Advantages:
–A shuttle to the airport
–Everyday cleaning services
Disadvantages:
–There is no available swimming pool inside the hotel. However, you can drive to it or take a shuttle.
–Minimum food variety at breakfast
–The room I live in was strongly desired to be renovated

Stayed here for two nights on 11÷4−11÷5. My husband and myself and had reserved a «handicap accessible» room well in advance of our stay. Room had a very small full size bed and would not accommodate two average size adults. Front desk even agreed the bed was too small for two adults. Why give a room to two adults when you know the bed is not adequate??? So we asked for another room. Nothing available. Typical. So we get a rollaway bed delivered which was not comfortable. Strike one.
Today, my husband leaves early for an all day meeting and I leave at 1 pm to visit my sister. We both arrive back to our room at 9:15 pm to find a room that has not been cleaned. Nothing done. No clean linens, nothing. My husband called the front desk and was told housekeeping would come, which they did. So after waiting for 30 minutes we have a clean room. Totally unacceptable. Strike two and three. Will never stay here again.

Had a very decent 1-​night stay here this week. I was placed on the 1^st floor (1212) in a newly renovated room. It’s not a new hotel, but they are renovating a section. You could definitely tell, it had many newer features.
The artwork on the walls gave it a boutique-​y feel. The stainless steel-​esque mirror did the same. The phone had a little cord attached with every charger you could need (mini USB, lightning, and the old 18-​pin connector as well).
The headboard area had plenty of outlets as well as USB ports, and actually had recessed lighting as well, which just makes the room feel so cozy.
Was very pleased with my stay here & a big fan of the updates I saw. Would stay again if I was in the area!

Stayed here back in July 2015 with my family. We were exhausted from a long day of walking around and sitting long distance in a car. We checked in around 9:15 PM and we were so glad to take a hot shower and lay in clean beds. This Holiday Inn met our expectations fully based of those two criteria.
My only complaint is that the staff and maintenance isn’t helpful, besides the front desk staff (whom were very friendly). I had a complaint about the coffeemaker, YES the damn single serving coffeemaker. It wasn’t producing water from the spout/​drip area. YOU KNOW WHY? Cause whoever used the room before my family messed with the tube inside. It’s been a long day, and all I want is a hot cup of tea to wind down. I had brought my own tea so I just need hot water.
So I called front desk to ask about it around 9:30 PM. They told me I can ask the on-​site restaurant/​lounge any time they’re open to get water. I went to the lounge, and ask for a cup of hot water. The waiter passed the message on to the manager (which took about 10 minutes), who walked up to me and just told me to come back during breakfast for hot water because and I quote «We only serve hot water in the morning.» (WTF fuck you, what kind of restaurant/​bar establishment doesn’t offer hot water?)
I headed back to the front desk and I told them what happened, the front staff took note and just asked me to wait at my room and a staff will come with a new coffeemaker. Finally a maintenance guy came (with no replacement in hand), he decided to take a look at the coffeemaker. I told him the spout wasn’t working properly and I preferred a new one. After fussing with the machine, he decided it was okay, and the only problem was that I didn’t use the coffee drip packages to «collect the water to drip» and if I wanted hot water, I should just get hot water from the tap because «it’s okay to drink from the tap in America.»
By this point, I was highly irritated, because first off, I am born and raised in America, I COME FROM THE CITY WHERE THE TAP WATER IS THE SAFEST AND CLEANEST TO DRINK! (AND WE ARE DAMN PROUD OF IT!) I know it’s fucking safe to drink from the tap, and for him to MAKE THE ASSUMPTION is really offensive. BTW the water heat level from tap is NOT IDEAL for tea. And when I told him the tube that feeds water into the spout is broken, he belittles me and say nothing’s wrong and I don’t know how it works. It doesn’t take a genius to know that this simple machinery has a tube that’s not feeding into the right places if water is coming out of the WRONG PLACES. If I want to drink machine rinsing water coming out of random seepage slits, I WOULDN’T HAVE ASKED FOR A REPLACEMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
When he finally left, WITH NO RESULTS, it was already 10:45PM. I had no idea it was this hard to procure a cup of hot water! Instead of winding down with a nice cup of tea, I get a headache from the weird restaurant staff and maintenance.
P. S. hope no one has to go through all this just for a cup of hot water.

Pro tip: don’t check in here at the same time as two bus loads of foreign tourists when there is only one desk clerk. That aside, this is a perfectly serviceable hotel. Just like my canned Hampton Inn review, the beds are comfy, the rooms are clean, and the price is reasonable. Absolutely nothing wrong here, and if you just want a solid hotel, this is a perfectly good option.

The hotel was really nice and clean. Indoor pool facilities were available and the staff was very polite and decent. Recommended place for everyone.

2-​stars would have been harsh given the circumstances as we traveled with about 500 5^th graders and there are few places that can handle that requirement. But there are a few things to pass on that we experienced that, fair or not, travelers should be aware of…
The bad:
* Fridge made noises that made falling asleep (for all four of us in the room) a challenge.
* 2 days before our trip, we called and were told pets were only allowed in one wing of the hotel. We had allergy problems. When I asked the manager in the morning, he told us pets were allowed throughout the hotel.
* Warm breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs and… French toast — made with eggs. What if you have an egg allergy? Which our group did? Come on Hilton, be better.
The good:
* They were ready for us when we arrived after 9pm at night. We were in our room in less than 15 mins.
* The room was otherwise quiet and the temperature was consistent.
* We asked for some pancakes and they cooked them up in about 10 mins. I was skeptical it would be timely but they did it.

Here with 29 middle schoolers, the place is clean, the lobby and halls are pleasing and there is a nice floral scent. Breakfast in the pub was very good, I enjoyed the ham and eggs — a hearty start to our busy day. Sleeping as heavenly, nice pillows and bedding!

The front desk personnel is very friendly and resouceful. The vending machines only take dollar bills and quarters — no dimes or nickels. The conference rooms are are clean but the lighting is not the best. The dining room is decent but no good view of anything. Plenty of parking. When you exit the hotel entrance, ignore the RT 28 arrow. Turn right because you will end up at a dead end if you don‘t and need to turn around.

The Dulles HI won’t be added to my list of go-​to locations. The service is spot-​on like other reviewers say. The front desk expresses its appreciation to Priority Club members and Reinaldo the waiter at Chantilly’s for breakfast was very friendly. For those used to HI that are modernly furnished and comfortably arranged, however, everything looks pretty dated, I didn’t get express check out for the first time ever with this chain and I don’t understand the placement of the full length mirror right next to the bed reminding me I need to go run a brush through my hair every time I get up.
I was also surprised that the shuttle service is so limited even to Gold members. Embassy Suites will shuttle its guests into town, to other hotels, etc. My request to the front desk was a polite but firm, «No, Ma’am. We don’t have shuttles that go to other hotels.»
This trip was complicated by the snow storm that made for a slippery arrival one Tuesday night and a combination of either the time zone change or the comfort of the bed. I was only able to sleep for about 3 hours which got me to the middle of the night and I was tossing and turning for the next 6. They do, however, offer 4 big fluffy pillows of varying firmness.
Chantilly’s is open early for breakfast and I was pleasantly surprised to see the breakfast buffet total with coffee was a reasonable $ 9 with tax, not tip. O’Malley’s is also next door for the late night crowd, but I did my lounging with co-​workers at another hotel instead. I’d like to say I’ll try it next time, but more likely I’ll be checking the HI Express nearby or the Embassy Suites which has an amazing Happy Hour. It could just be the location. I had a terrible experience with the shuttle service at the Ronald Reagan Airport HI a few years back.

Not a bad stay for last minute and O’Malleys pub offered some good far onsite. Room was clean and comfortable and moderately priced for being so close to Historic Leesburg.

I would give it zero starts if possible. First of all this is not a 3 stars hotel, by far.
It is an outdated 2 stars or less hotel. This is a 2 level hotel that was built in the 70’s and never updated since then. The whole hotel smells like mold, it is dirty and the front desk have a TERRIBLE attitude when you ask for for anything.
Air condition is loud (if it works at all) and smells like cigarette smoke or who knows what. I have changed 4(four) yes four rooms before I gave up and dealt with the situation.
To make things even better the breakfast is not included and it is an additional $ 11.50, ridiculous when all the others hotels in the are have this included.
I am a business traveler and I am traveling a lot and have never encountered anything like this. For $ 5-​$ 10 more you can get a different hotel in the area that is a real 3 stars hotel.
AVOID at all costs!!!

My flight was late arriving, got to hotel at 4am. They offered me a 3pm late check out, no charge. The staff is very friendly. The property is beautiful and clean. This was my second of many stays here! It’s very close to the Dulles airport.

Room 1202. Recently renovated, but they didn’t go far enough. Have to crawl on the floor to find power outlets (only one on desk). Exteremely noisy air conditioner, «rattles» before compressor comes on or off. WiFi doesn’t work — front desk said they would reset, but no such luck. Mattress was lumpy, saggy. Pillows also felt extremely low quality — like stuffed with cotton balls — and, unfortunately, that meant that I found myself wide awake and uncomfortable at 3 am writing this review. If a hotel isn’t comfortable enough to offer a good night’s sleep than they have failed at the very reason for their existence.
During check-​out, Patrick at the front desk told me that my Priority Club account had expired and then held up my card in my face to show me where it says «Expires in 2012». He said he couldn’t credit points to my account for the stay. Huh?!
For what it’s worth, I’m a fan of IHG — and Platinum in Priority Club with a dozen or more stays over the last few months.

I used airport parking services here and had a great experience. I was running late to catch my flight, so I called the front desk and told them I didn’t have a confirmation print out but the proof of parking purchase in my cell phone. No problem at all. When I arrived, the man at the front desk (I wish I had his name) had everything ready for me, and the shuttle to the airport was fast to pick me up and drop me off…

Utilitarian and accommodating.
If you want to stay near Dulles, this is an adequate choice. We had a large group who flew in for a nearby wedding, and they accommodated us staying up in the lobby and bar creating noise and chaos late into the night. No hassles. Rooms were what you’d expect. Quick access to Dulles was convenient for our getaways.
