Montessori Of Stevenson Ranch

My son attended this school for over 1 year. I checked out several options in the stevenson ranch area prior to enrollment. This school is by far the best option… but also a bit more pricey than the other daycares. The facility is very new and clean!
The admin staff and teachers are all very nice. They really take the time to get to know your child. His teachers Miss Amanda and Miss Melissa were excellent! They essentially potty trained my son.
I feel that a lot of the residents of stevenson ranch really gravitated towards this school. That being said, the classrooms got very full. I’m not an expert on teacher: student ratios… but I felt that the teachers seemed a little stressed at times.
The owners opened up another branch in Saugus… so it’s seems like business is doing well. I hope that the owners reward the staff and teachers for the success because they are the ones that really make the difference.

Whoever wrote the bad review is delusional. This place is amazing. It’s always very clean and very well organized. The teachers are fantastic. The notion that a teacher had to share her corn because a child «looked hungry» is absurd. In fact, most of the allegations from the bad review are absurd. They (teachers and staff) go above and beyond to make sure that the children are well taken care off, and are very friendly. My son has been attending this school for over a year now and I can’t imagine him going to any other place. They offer dance, music, art, all of which are taught by fantastic outside instructors. This goes on during the week on top of daily Montessori work. They actually teach children unlike other schools. If there is ANY criticism I have, it’s that occasionally the front desk is left unattended, probably because they are assisting teachers or giving tours. So make an appointment if you want to tour the facility. My advice would be to go check the place out for yourself. I’m confident you’ll be impressed.

I must say that the poor review I read above is disappointing. My son (3 years old) was the very first student at this brand new school, which opened up in January of 2014. From the very first day and on, the staff has been nothing short of professional, caring, and patient with our son and from what I’ve seen, with other students as well. My son has asthma and it was a relief to know that there is staff that is familiar with the condition and treatment of his ailment. With the help of his teachers we were able to potty-​train our son and fortunately were able to save $ 100 on tuition because of the completion of the training. He comes home saying words in Chinese and Spanish that he learned in school, which is great for a toddler to be exposed to since we only speak English at home. The school recently changed their lunch menu to more kid tasty meals. This is wonderful because who has time to prepare lunch in the mornings when you’re running late for work?! He loves the lunches, with the exception of the veggies and fruit (we’re still working on that). More importantly, he tells my husband and me that his teachers are very nice and that he misses them when he hasn’t seen them in a while. That is what is most important to us, that they treat him kindly and give him a safe environment to learn and grow. I highly recommend this school. It is impeccably clean, everything is new, and the teachers and admin staff listen to our concerns.

My daughter was at a home daycare prior to me enrolling her at Montessori. She came home 2 weeks in a role with a raspy voice and puffy eyes from crying and not taking proper naps. Every morning when I drop her off she would scream and reach her hand out for me to pick her up. It was heart breaking. I thought that she just needed time to adjust but after one month she was still going through the same thing. We took a tour at the Montessori in Stevenson Ranch and we fell in love with the staff members and the environment. Staff members are friendly and develop a RELATIONSHIP with the kids. They are truly there because they love the kids. Miss Melissa, Miss. Cynthia and Miss Sarah are great with our little girl. My daughter adjusted to being there within one week. I would drop her off at daycare and she would walk straight to any one of those ladies and turn around and wave by to me. She came home so happy but exhausted from having too much fun. When my daughter went to home daycare, the provider would let her cry every time I was leaving. She would just hand her a toy. The Montessori staff members would pick her up and soothe her to make her feel comfortable when I left. It was such a smooth transition for my daughter but if it weren’t for the staff members then this would not be possible. The tuition is more expensive but we felt that it was worth it because our daughter came home HAPPY. I would highly recommend Montessori in Stevenson Ranch.

According to my husband, every time he went to Montessori, he always heard kids screaming. Today, I heard my son screamed too, so I have decided to pull him out. I’m going to bring him back to Gymboree where he can hang out and learn until public school starts. My husband also said that our son was always wet because they let him played with water and they never changed his wet shirt. They also didn’t give my son his food even though I have left his lunch at his cubby. If they couldn’t find his food, they are supposed to at least call and ask if he had food and not letting him starving. I found out about this because the teacher finally told me that she was nice enough to share corn with my son because she said that my son looked hungry.
My son is hyperactive, rarely speaks and doesn’t want to sit. The school has ratio 20:1, students to teacher. So, they really had a hard time handling my son. They gave up their responsibility and asked us to provide them with a helper on top of the high tuition. The cost of an aide will be $ 75/​hr, so I’ve calculated the total cost is going to be $ 4,500/month plus the tuition for 5 days (3hrs each). What a ridiculous fee for leaving my son at Montessori!!!
My son also has difficulty to pay attention. But the good thing about him is he’s incredibly smart. Many times I’m amazed how he’s able to absorb any teaching he’s been given when he doesn’t even want to pay attention. At 4 years old, he is able to read and he can read up to 999. One thing I’ve noticed he learned from Montessori is how to pronounce words correctly.
I want to be reasonable here, so my advice is if your kids are always good kids and listen to instructions, maybe it’s o.k. to leave them at Montessori. If your kids are like my son, I guarantee they won’t be treated with good care.
Gymboree isn’t a real school but it gave better care to my son. I remember they told me to provide more food because my son wanted to eat more and took other people’s food. My son never came home with wet shirt. They also didn’t give up with my son. And Gymboree price is less than half of Montessori. What a shame!!!
Lastly, Montessori doesn’t seem to pay cleaning service to clean their restrooms because they are pretty dirty, especially the kids restrooms.
