Juliya’s Custom Tailoring & Alterations

I made an appt a few weeks ago to have some pants hemmed. When I arrived, at 10, she was opening, and took someone before me. I said I had an appt at 10 and she replied that she double booked. Fine. I waited 20 minutes and she was very quick in marking my pants, and said they’d be ready in 2 weeks. Yesterday, I went in to pick up my 2 pairs of pants, and had 2 more with me that needed tailoring. Juliya gave me the finished order, then went back in dressing room. I waited, as I didn’t know the charge. Finally she came out and I said I have 2 more pairs of pants that need hemming and she said no. No time for me. What? She didn’t honor the appt I had before, so I did a walk in like everyone else. She couldn’t do, nor did she tell me when to come back. She didn’t care. I dropped my pants somewhere else yesterday afternoon. I will not be back. Too bad, since I live 2 miles away.

This past weekend my (now) husband and I got married!!! It was quite an undertaking because we had only began the official planning barely 2 weeks prior! So it wasn’t actually until 6 days prior to the wedding that I actually found my dress — eek! Finally finding the perfect dress was just a miracle HOWEVER the size 10 was not entirely realistic. But to my surprise (with the assistance of my nieces and sister-​in-​law) I was able to zip the dress and it was just BEAUTIFUL — a floor length maxi chiffon dress — perfection!
But it was actually the second fitting (when I was picking out a veil) that the zipper busted and I began to panic! So on Sunday evening I turned to the power of Unilocal and found Juliya!
Although Juliya was closed on Monday, I took a chance, and sent her an email through her website. I knew time was beyond tight so I had planned to keep looking by noon on Monday.
At 11:00 on Monday Juliya’s daughter, Kristina, emailed me (even though they were closed!)!!! She had passed the info to Juliya who texted me as I was reading the email from Kristina!!! The Gods were smiling!
Juliya had me come in on Tuesday morning. I put on the dress and Juliya looked at how it fit and what needed to be repaired — she never took a single measurement! At the same time I handed her my toddler son’s dress pants that needed to be altered.
Juliya was/​is honest, sincere, genuine, polite, professional, fair, and wonderful!
She promised the dress & pants by Friday afternoon but called me Thursday afternoon to tell me it was all ready.
I picked them up and tried the dress on and IT WAS PERFECT!!!
She replaced the zipper and gave me 2 extra inches! I couldn’t have asked for any thing more.

I was referred here from a friend who’s currently using Juliya’s services for a wedding dress. I used her services for a bridesmaid’s dress. She just had to shorten the length of the dress. The dress came out perfect and it was completed at a timely fashion, especially since wedding season is coming up. I even forgot that the bride wanted me to attach straps to my dress. I asked Juliya when I went in to pick up the dress and she said she could get it on within a week. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone in the area. Juliya is the best! I presented her with a heavily beaded Needles & Thread dress I planned to wear for my wedding in Iceland. Scored an amazing deal (last one, on-​sale) from Saks’ website and off course, it was too small. We’re talking 3 – 4 inches on the top too small. After searching all over the city for someone who could figure out how to make the dress work without compromising the bead-​work, I finally found her. In just one fitting, Juliya knew knew exactly what to do and executed it beautifully!

Juliya is an absolute magician. I took my 19 year old daughter (who believes she is a princess) in and had 2 dresses altered. She’s tiny with a large bust, so it’s not easy to fit formal wear. Juliya remade both dresses to fit her body like a glove! Literally looked like they were custom made.
Not only an amazing artist– a sweet lady! I will never again use anyone else… I discovered the best!

Juliya is AMAZING! Truly professional service. Juliya was able to complete alterations on my dress at the last minutes saving me from tearing out my hair from stress. She did a wonderful job and is a true pleasure to deal with, friendly, caring, kind and most of all a true artist when it comes to tailoring and alterations.

Juliya did an impeccable job altering a white graduation gown. The bodice of the dress was too small, but the balance of the dress fit perfectly. Juliya purchased matching fabric, adding it to the bodice. You could barely tell that any alterations had been made, even upon close examination. A unique gown now has a second life thanks to Juliya! Service was fast and friendly. I highly recommend.

Juliya’s Custom Tailoring is located in Stevenson Village in a really cute house kind of in the middle of the parking lot. No appointment is necessary. She is closed on Sundays and Mondays. She has been tailoring clothes for over 15 years and is able to tailor anything and also does custom orders. I had a wedding to attend and needed the shoulder straps taken up a few inches and needed it done within 4 days. I also had Juliya sow leather patches on a favorite jacket of mine that developed a hole from frequent wear on the sleeve which improved the look of the jacket which was a plus! Juliya and her staff were able to accommodate my request with no issues and I was able to have my dress for the wedding. She was able to finish it quickly because she is a professional and extremely
experienced. I trust Juliya and her judgement with my clothes because of her expertise. I would highly recommend her for any type of alterations and would never go anywhere else.

I’m very impressed with the quick and friendly service I received from Juliya’s and I’m surprised to be the first review! Juliya’s is located in the Stevenson shopping center off of Greenspring Valley Road. Her shop is located in a small building in the parking lot.
When you walk in you are surrounded by racks and racks of clothes. Within the studio are a few large sewing tables and a changing room. Note the big sign on the wall that says CASH AND CHECKS ONLY PLEASE.
Juliya greeted me and I showed her the bridesmaid dress I was bringing in to be hemmed. She gestured to the dressing room and told me to let her know when I was ready. Like most bridesmaid dresses, the fit is not ideal. Juliya worked quickly to pin the hem around the bottom of the gown. When she was done we discussed the fit of the rest of the dress and she was very honest with me about what wouldn’t be worth tweaking. I appreciated the honesty because I know plenty of other places that would have gladly stretched my bill as far as they could. She was able to have the dress done in a little under 2 weeks and I’m excited to go pick it up today after work. Would definitely recommend Juliya to anyone.
