Pirates Fish and Chips

The fish fry they use is excellent! The food is very tasty and fresh. The owners are very nice and offered me a discounted meal when they didn’t have correct change… But I chose to pay a little extra and have them throw in an extra fish taco, good decision! They are located on Thursdays in Bingen for the winter.

Based on the reviews, we decided to go here on our way to Mount Hood hiking. It was right off the highway which seemed like a random location but the most perfect place to stop before heading up to Mount Hood. After seeing the food truck in a random parking lot, we almost didn’t try the food which would have been our loss. It was the most fantastic freshest fish and the owner was just so pleasant to talk to — their years of experience in the restaurant service shows in the food and the service.
I had the fish tacos and my husband had fish and chips. Both were delicious. The cole slaw was so fresh and tasty and I’m very particular about my cole slaw — I will only eat light and fresh cole slaw so it was a pleasant surprise to have such delicious food. And, the fries were to die for because of their perfected seasoning.
Overall, friendly owners, delicious food, and perfect location if you’re on your way to Mount Hood.

We found this spot on Unilocal.The reviews were good so we stopped for lunch and it did not disappoint. The fish and chips were excellent and the owners were super friendly. We will definitely stop in again.

Really nice, fresh fish & chips. Also have chowder and shrimp and very good fish tacos. Great food and really nice people running it. They even have a couple of outdoor tables.

Very delicious! I came here with my brother. He got the coconut shrimp and I got the calamari. We were not disappointed. The man attending us (assuming he was the owner) was very kind. Good service and good food. It’s priced nicely as well since it is seafood.

I’m pretty picky about my fish n chips. The cod was delicious! More of a breading than a batter. Huge pieces of fish, too. Tasty homemade tarter sauce and coleslaw. Excellent hand cut fries w/​the perfect seasoning. Very fresh ingredients. Fish tacos were delicious, too, but tortilla a little dry. Will try the coconut shrimp next time-​mmmmm. Glad I’m a local!

Shrimp tacos had lots of shrimp and excellent sauce. Halibut and chips had scrumptious breading and huge pieces of fish. Total num-​num.

Great experience. They take SQUARE payments which is awesome. Friendly and fast. Good food!

Very lucky to happen across this trailer! Great halibut, chips, and slaw. They source their own fish on the coast and it shows. Very cool and dedicated folks running it. Highest recommendation!

We stumbled upon this gem today. I haven’t had fish tacos this good since I first had them almost 25 years ago in San Diego. The corn tortillas are perfect, the fish was great, the cabbage crisp — all tied together with a spectacular sauce. The tacos came with either fries, or slaw — I chose slaw. It too was really well executed — not a bunch of old cabbage with some sort of mayo-​goo slathered about. The combination of carrots and slaw with a honey mustard dressing that wasn’t overdone.
I highly recommend Pirates. It’s great food at a great price.
