One of our favorite restaurants in Stillwater. It appears they closed and a Thai Restaurant will replace it.

We were very impressed with this place. Very comfortable room. Our waiter could not have been more friendly and helpful. All the food we tried was very good! The french fries are the best I’ve ever tasted! I had a Kufka Sandwich, or something like that. lol. It was really flavorful! My mother had The Greek Tour and loved it!

The food is delicious, the atmosphere inside the restaurant is charming, and the staff is pleasant and attentive. The curb appeal of this restaurant is non-existant, which is why I believe it has not become a go-to spot for those in Stillwater and the surrounding cities. I had the Gyro Salad, it came with fresh warm pita on the side, a side of homemade tzatziki, and the salad itself had a good proportion of kalamata olives, feta cheese, red onions and lamb. This gem of a restaurant should be supported.

While visiting from out of town, I attended a lovely ARISTOS-catered Christmas party. The food was absolutely delicious! It was so good that I had to leave a review. I only wish that I had a Greek restaurant, this good, near me in PA. I will definitely visit when/if I am in the area again!

Excellent food, very accommodating service(especially since we had 1 unruly and tired two year old and one 6 year old). The fresh pita was delicious and the dolmas were fantastic. I know there is controversy about gyros sometimes, but their gyros have the ability to settle squabbles in one taste.

I stop by here almost every time I’m in Stillwater. The food is really good and the portions are HUGE. I typically order the gyro salad and I can barely eat 1⁄3rd of it; it could easily serve 2 – 3 people. It’s not just a bunch of lettuce with a few pieces of gyro meat, they are generous with the good stuff. They can be a little heavy handed with the cheese, but I certainly prefer that to not enough. The service is really nice and accommodating. They’ve let me order half orders of things. The servers are really attentive and engaging. I’ll keep coming back here.

I wish you could go three and a half stars, because I have some positive things to report about this place, and a few notes for improvment. I have had the privilage to eat here about 6 – 7 times now and the food has been pretty good each time. The Tahini sauce is home made and though different then what I am used too, it is still very good. The rice is usually pretty nicely done but on occasion has been lumpy or stuck in a big ball underneath. The Shawarma has been consistantly good everytime but I wish they had some sort of potatos other then«Fries» to eat with any of the meals.(And a different type of fries) The vegetables need to be cooked a little more but are fresh and a nice mix added to the meals. I recently had a spinach soup there and though I don’t usually like spinach I was very impressed with it’s taste and flavor. As to the service, they have been ok at best but the owner is always been very friendly and made an effort to come out and say hello each time we have been there and for that alone I will keep coming back and giving him my business!

We enjoyed our dinner here last night, but I do wish it weren’t quite so pricey. We walked in with only 30 minutes to eat and our server was extremely accommodating. We started with the combo appetizer with hummus and spicy feta dip. The spicy fets reminded me of Dino’s but better and the hummus was also tasty. I had the chicken kabob plate which came with salad, pita bread, rice and veggies. Hubs went for the classic gyro with fries. Both us of enjoyed our food and had a full meal leftover. I wish the salad had had feta cheese on it, only thing missing. The rice was pretty bland, but the chicken was nicely seasoned and juicy and the vegetables were really good! We don’t go to Stillwater often but we may have our baby at their hospital so it’s great to know there’s a pretty good food option around!

I have been to Aristos a handful of times now. I’ve tried several of the menu items and have not been disappointed yet. The food is always fresh, and the service is both fast and friendly. While their specialty is Greek-Mediterranean there is something on the menu for everyone. If you like Greek food Aristos will not disappoint!

Proceed with caution! Go for lunch, not for dinner. We were looking for a place for dinner when Tara’s Hideaway was packed. We picked this place. Hmm. The 4 cars in the parking lot should have been a clue. For the prices, never for dinner. Though, we’ll be back to give their cheaper lunch menu a try.

I really love this place. The atmosphere is much nicer inside than one would think. It’s elegant and cozy without over doing the Greek theme. All of the food I have tried at Aristos so far has been wonderful! The Gyros, Spicy Feta Cheese Dip, and the Kokonisto are among my favorites. The service here is always impeccable! I definitely recommend this place!!!

Been here twice, and was not disappointed either time. Is the food comparable to what you would find on a romantic little island off mainland Greece? Of course not, but it’s better than you will find at most TC Greek restaurants. Blows«It’s Greek To Me» out of the water. It’s about time Stillwater had a reliably good«ethnic» restaurant. May it have a long and prosperous life.

My husband brought me here for Mother’s Day lunch. Good menu with nice assortment of vegetarian dishes and meat dishes. We started with the tzatziki(pita chips with cucumber/greek yogurt dip). Excellent. I had Foul Medumas(basically a refried bean dish with warm pita bread) which was pretty good, expecially when I squeezed the lemon on top. My husband had the pork chops. He said they were perfectly done and he can be particular sometimes! Both entrees came with a wonderful greek salad. Waitress was very friendly and kept the pita bread/chips and drinks coming. Only complaint was that I heard several other tables being told that Moms receive a free glass of champagne and this wasn’t mentioned to me. Maybe one had to ask for freebies, but I don’t think that’s the way to do business. Or maybe she just forgot. Not sure. Anyway, I enjoyed Aristos and plan on returning.

I stopped in for lunch when I was in a hurry one day. Thanks to Aristos we got in and out in about the same time(and for the same price) as a fast-food meal, but the food was orders of magnitude better and there was friendly, competent table service to boot. My companion and I ordered a gyros sandwich and a falafel sandwich. Both were tasty and nicely presented: soft, fresh pita bread, lively green lettuce and cucumbers, the gyros with yogurt cucumber sauce and the falafel with tahini. On another occasion I had the vegetarian sampler for dinner. Portions were generous. Fries are amazing. The building is a converted Hardees. Nothing much to look at on the from the street, but warm and pleasant inside. Service was friendly and attentive. The limited selections we tried were very good but not exceptional – I’m looking forward to trying some of the entrees when I have more time. Aristos gets bonus points for being out in Stillwater and giving us a break from all the chain restaurants in town.

We headed to Stillwater because we wanted to try out a new GPS for a car. :-) We drove past Aristos on the way into town and when we found out Meister’s Bar and Grill doesn’t take plastic we headed for«that Greek place we drove past.» The gyros were good and the french fries were the best I’ve ever eaten. They didn’t seem greasy and they were beautifully colored, and tender inside. A perfect fry. Who knew? I’ll call ahead for an order of fries to go next time I’m headed to Stillwater. You should go. Friendly service, fast service, not very busy on a gorgeous Wednesday in May, 2010, at about 1:15 p.m.

Aristos is a Greek-Mediterranean restaurant in an improbable place, along a frontage road encrusted with Stillwater strip malls. It looks like it should be in a boutique neighborhood in Mpls or even downtown Stillwater. The menu is mostly Greek with a few Italian and American items. I had a souvlaki sandwich on warm, soft pita bread and my wife had a gyro sandwich on same. Each came with crunchy-tender french fries and a side of thick yogurt dressing. They were delicious. A friend had the Tour of Greece dinner which looked like a very large Greek appetizer plate. They have a modest wine list which includes homemade Sangria that had too much ice. And it was served with a maraschino cherry. The wine was okay. I could do without the cherry. For reasons I can’t explain, the place was packed with seniors. The giveaway is a parking lot full of Buicks. No need to worry about noisy, screamy kids here. This place is still pretty new. It’s in its third incarnation as a sit down restaurant, being a body shop and Hardee’s before then. They did a marvelous job rehabbing the place. It’s all prettily decorated with faux stone and wood accents. The lighting is low and warm. Aristos is a cozy place. The owers are to be commended for NOT blasting Greek music at its patrons The staff was very attentive and the service fast. The owner came to the table to greet us and ask about our meal. I would recommend Aristos as a decent sit-down place. If you happen to be in the area, by all means pay it a visit. But it’s not a destination restaurant worthy of a special trip.
