Their return policy makes this store worth avoiding — no returns on opened products! I purchased some remote control helicopters but they didn’t work. The manager smugly told me that I would not be able to get my money back. I’ll never shop here again.

This place has changed BIGTIME since I was in college. I’ve actually been going to Hasting’s since I was in middle school. You see, in my home town we did not have any outlet for music, comics, books, etc… the closest thing was Wal-Mart, and that was back in the day when they carried 1 copy of each CD, movie, etc… So walking into Hasting’s was like entering the Wonder Emporium of all things pop culture. Now we live much farther away, but we still make a stop almost anytime we’re in Stillwater. The store has changed so much recently. Some of it for the better and some for the worse. The awesome sauce: They have a better than average selection of comics! They even have back issues. They have some ridiculous and fun gifts that you would find at Hot Topic or Spencers, so you never know what you will find here. My wife bought me a bacon ornament :) They still have a decent selection of CDs, Vinyl and books. GASP! That’s right, this book store still has some books… for now. They have a nifty café with plenty of seating, and they have a massive movie/video game selection for renting or purchasing. The bad sauce: It’s sensory overload! There is so much stuff in the store, you just sort of get overwhelmed at some point, and you’re ready to get out. I don’t think it’s possible to see everything in one visit, but you will probably see plenty that you want to take home. If you’re in the neighborhood, check this place out!

Hastings is my favorite store to spend an entire day in. Movies, games, books, they have the best selection of the best entertainment. I love going to Hastings to relax with a good book and a tasty chai tea from their café. Hastings=favorite store ever! If I had one complaint, I would say that they need to make some of their book prices more competitive with Amazon, but they have tons of Used material that is a great deal!

Wow, I figured there would be more reviews on this place given that it’s the only place in town to buy a book… The café is the most redeeming quality about this store. It has a nice area to enjoy a drink and try a book before you buy. The staff are generally very nice. I can’t give this place over 3 stars because they let their wifi go down for months on end. No self respecting café/book store would do this.
