Delicious food! Went on a double date here last night and we loved it. For those of you who know Japanese food, they do a mix at this place of Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki. The atmosphere really reminded me of restaurants in Japan. As soon as you step in, you become engulfed by incredible smells that only make you hungrier! I had the prime rib and it was so good. The owner(I think) is hilarious and great company. I totally recommend this place!!!

First off Shabu-Shabu is very rare, in my home state of IL there are only 3 Shabu-Shabu joints(all of which are in the Chicago area). Stillwater is very lucky to have one! The service is great, don’t be thrown off by the exterior this is a quality meal. If possible go early in the week when Dean the owner can assist any first-timers. The egg is must! Go in with an open mind and be willing to try any suggestions the staff had. I have never had a bad meal here. My favorite place in Stillwater!

This place is a hidden gem. Its about an hour from okc, but worth the drive. Be sure ti make reservation if going in a group. The best hot pot place ever. We always get the Mongolian broth, for the meat get the ribeye. Their seafood option is delicious as well. A side of pork belly is also a must. Request the«no name» sauce for dipping, it ties it all together, but it’s spicy.

We walked in without a reservation, and were immediately chided(all in jest, but we’re making a reservation next time). Dean sat us and walked us through ordering. We left it all up to him and wound up with an amazing spread of ribeye, pork belly, gulf shrimp, and red snapper. He also took the time to walk us through preparing our food. This was an amazing experience and rivaled any restaurant we’ve been to on either coast — most recently from the Bay Area. Seriously, Tokyo Pot made out first shaba shabu experience great. We loved every minute of it, and are looking forward to trying it all — and getting the pork belly again.

Tokyo Pot is a gem. From the quirky but attentive staff, to the dive-like ambiance, to the way the food sits on the tongue, it is well worth a visit. A reservation is a good idea, as is planning to spend 1 – 1.5 hours there. I was told what I ordered was risky, that I would develop a jones for more. Perhaps, it would create a culinary desire I might never be able to fully satisfy. I think they were right. I’m full, but I want more.

Truly an incredible meal and dining experience. This was a gem that my husband and I did not expect to find in Stillwater, Ok. Not only was the food amazing, but the service also shined on its own. Dean, the owner, made me additional spice options when I wanted more spice. He came over to our table and showed us new ways to consume our food by adding a bit of this and that. He is truly a very passionate owner and takes care of his customers. This is an establishment that belongs in any larger city. Keep up the amazing experience, Dean! And people of Stillwater, go support this fantastic place! You will be so happy you did!

Shabu shabu in STILLWATER!!! Another great Asian culinary experience in this college town!!! I can see where reviewers complained about the amount of veggies, but that was an afterthought when I started comparing this place to other hot pot restaurants I’ve been to. The owner was awesome and had great recommendations. When we got there, it was us and only one other table on a Saturday night. By the time we left, the place was packed. Fresh food, fun atmosphere, and an overall fantastic experience.

I heard about this place so I come to give a try. Good: owner is very nice and fun but the waiter was not that sweet. Food: I have been told the small size of rib eye is about 9 oz and large is about 12oz, so I thought the small will be enough for me since I am on diet, do not eat lot. When the meat came, it was definitely not 9oz, maximum 5 oz because there were 9 pieces of skin thin rib eyes. And the vegetable is not a fun plate at all, few pieces of napa cabbage, two pieces carrot slice, two half pieces mushroom, just too simple and not well prepared Just everything is too«just so so». Not well perpared. If you have eaten authentic Chinese Hot Pot or Japaness shapu shapu, you will know what I mean. Plus it is very pricey and not authentic Japaness shapu shapu. I will not go back. Also, they do not have kids food even I ask simple fried rice or stir fry noodles, they do not have kitchen to cook those. So I have to eat hurry up and got McDonald’s for my kids, poor them. Please look at the picture that I post, it is how the Hot Pot look like

I guess I understand why a lot of people love this place. It definitely is a new experience for most of its customers, however I really was underwhelmed. The food was well prepared, but lacked any real pop. The meals felt flat, with little focus on the complete flavor being constructed. My party had a good time overall, but for the price I expected something more.

The food was outstanding! The presentation was fantastic and the service was great. As for Dean the owner… «you’re the man»! It was absolutely amazing to see your interaction with the patrons. In looking through the reviews for Tokyo Pot, the few negative reviews mention the price??? My bill for dinner and drinks for two was about the same as I would paid at a chain restaurant for mediocre food and average service. Dean don’t change a thing!

I came here a few months ago for work. Visiting Oklahoma for the first time, this was really unexpected. I’ve never had Shabu-Shabu before, but now I’m addicted. Dean was really awesome and if I’m ever I’m the area I’m going again. Highly recommend if you are visiting or from the area!

The Tokyo Pot is nothing short of a dining out treasure! The food was fantastic, the service was awesome and the experience visiting this restaurant was incredible!!! The owner Dean, stopped at our table and made our experience even more incredible then we were already having! He displayed a passion for his food and restaurant that I have seldom seen!

I want to put a review here to provide the«other side of the coin» as part of the demographic that grew up eating shabu shabu(hot pot) all over Chinatowns, Japan, and Taiwan. Staff and owner– wonderful and super nice. Ambience– very fun for a date night. That’s about where it stops for me. I wouldn’t pay to come back to this restaurant simply because the price versus value is not there. You are not getting a lot of food for your money. Realistically, you are getting very little food for your money with thinly shaved meat and small portions of inexpensive vegetables…(see Unilocaler pics) I ended up leaving this place feeling terribly disappointed and upset because of what my expectations were. When here I finished all of my food and was hungry again shortly after leaving. Traditional shabu shabu should afford you more vegetables than can fit on that plate, not a sprig of mushroom and two carrot slices. If you’ve never done shabu shabu and live nearby, this would be a fun experience for the novelty. Other than that I cannot personally recommend it, no matter how awesome the staff is as I came to eat food, not people.

This may have been the absolute best experience at any restaurant I have ever had. It has been nearly two weeks since my visit and my mouth still waters every time I think of the delicious pot of boiling broth bubbling at our table like a witch’s brew of flavor. Let me start by a quick description of what to expect. It was my girlfriend and my two year anniversary, so I turned to Unilocal for ideas about our night out. I found Tokyo Pot. I had no idea what to expect; as far as I knew, we were going to a simple Japanese steak house. However, when we got there, I was confused as to why a hot plate and metal pot was sitting at our table. The way this fine eatery works is you order a protein(I got the salmon and shrimp, my girlfriend got the lamb), and it is brought to you raw alongside a plate full of raw veggies, a bowl of white rice, and a bowl of beaten raw egg. You then prepare your own food by cooking your meat in the boiling broth. Each piece of meat takes around 5 – 15 seconds to cook fully. Nervous about this whole affair? Think the entire point of going out to eat is to make sure you don’t burn down your home, so why would you go out to do it? Have no fear! The owner, Dean, will know it is your first time. Don’t ask how, he will sense it when you walk through the door. Dean will make sure you get the most out of your meal. He will even make fantastic suggestions along the way, such as «order a side of pork belly. I know it isn’t on the menu just do it» or «order the cold salad. I just made it for today». This wasn’t a dinner. It was an unreal experience. The best meal I have had in my entire life, and hopefully it will soon be yours! Enjoy!

Tokyo Pot is definitely a must try! Go with the ribeye and try the«fish» for dessert. I can definitely say this is top 3 one of my favorite restaurants ever! The owner Dean made my experience even better. He’s so friendly and very engaged with his guests and staff! I have driven from Dallas to Stillwater for this little hole in the wall place!!!

One of the most authentic, unique, experiences you will ever have. The owner is an incredible guy with one of the best senses of humor I have encountered. The food is completely fresh and you cook it yourself. Excellent portions. You absolutely need to make the drive to Stillwater to eat here.

If I were to have a last meal, it would definitely be at Tokyo Pot. My best friend turned me to this place last year & we’ve been driving all the way from OKC ever since. Dean,(the owner) always greets us with a smile and asks how we’re doing & what’s new. The setup is perfect for a group of friends, and the food is just fantastic. My go-to item is always a large prime rib plate with a side of thai chili sauce. My friends and I usually get a mixed broth so it’s kind of sweet/savory at the same time and the rice that they bring out is never-ending. My advice: wear yoga pants(because you will thank me later) and make sure whatever you’re wearing doesn’t need to be dry-cleaned, because the scent of the delicious food will seep into your threads and pores and follow you wherever you go until you shower.
